Answer:	Hello! Thank you for your interest. Alkalines are recommended and ideal for this application because they do tend to output higher voltage. Lower voltages from a li-ion or nimh might work fine (as the device regulates itself to always output the correct amount of current) however we cannot guarantee the same performance as alkalines. Keep in mind that a pair of alkalines should comfortably last 6 plus months with regular use.

Answer:	Yes as long a it's single phase. The unit has two small screw terminals for power to the unit and voltage sampling. And a 3/8" hole through it top to bottom with an inductive ampmeter coil. You just pass your hot wire through the hole and it samples the amperage. It will easily fit a #6 wire.

Answer:	The GT3WP is the waterproof version. IP67 (Dustproof, splash proof, Rain proof, rated submersible at a depth of 3ft for 30 minutes.) The GT3WP is a completely different radio from the other GT3's

Answer:	Yes, you can do this with your radio with clear and loud results. It also operates on MURS. However, the radio is not certified to do this. So, do not do it or you will die. It is just like if you go 56 miles per hour in a speed limit 55 zone. Do not do that either. You will die.
