However, it is a beautiful toy and I'm sure she would love it even if she can't take advantage of all the features just yet. The nice thing is that is as a toy that she can grow in to. She will still be playing with it in a couple of years, I'm sure. Finding a toy that will grow with a child is always a bonus in my book! I don't think either of you would be disappointed, and Amazon definitely has the best price!

Question:	Does this take batteries
Answer:	I didn't find any type of switch either. I changed the batteries and realized you have to squeeze against the tummy. The head then tilts and the dog barks. No idea what it has to do with the ice cream cone.
Question:	would a 13 year old enjoy this or would this be boring to them
Answer:	The dimensions are listed in the description of the item, I checked before I bought mine bc some of them are very small, as for jj the jumping pug it is a decent size, but the bottom of it is plastic base where the batteries go, it only stands up it doesn't sit or walk.
Question:	Does this come with the original packaging
Answer:	This was purchased two years ago as a Christmas present. I have no idea at this point where they are manufactured.
Question:	Does it work on carpeting ? jumpin and turning ? or only floors
Answer:	When I purchased the item I had the option of choosing if I wanted it in it's original box.
