Answer:	I hadn't tried it on carpet but I would think itd work just as fine as long as the carpet isn't super long. You can use the mouse just on the hardwood floor itself or a table top too. You don't have to use the maze board. I just didn't want to get any hair wrapped up in the wheels by using hit on the floor

Answer:	Make sure there isn't something in the way. There were a lot of plastic ties that weren't real visible. Also some parts can be rearranged, make sure a removable part is not in the way.
