These games are known for their lighthearted and interactive nature, often involving humor, teamwork, or friendly competition. Here are some common features and examples of party board games:
Social Interaction: Party board games emphasize social interaction among players. They encourage conversation, laughter, and cooperation, making them perfect for parties and group gatherings.
Quick and Easy Rules: These games typically have simple rules that are easy for everyone to understand, even for those who are not regular board gamers.

Humor and Wit: Many party board games incorporate humor and wit into their gameplay, often leading to funny and memorable moments.
Teamwork or Competition: Some party games focus on teamwork, where players collaborate to achieve a common goal, while others involve friendly competition among participants.
Time Limits: Party games often have time limits or a fast-paced nature, ensuring that rounds or games are relatively short and can be played in succession.
Examples of popular party board games include:
Codenames: In this word-based game, players give one-word clues to their teammates to help them guess the correct words on a grid while avoiding the words associated with the opposing team.
Cards Against Humanity: A humorous and often irreverent card game where players fill in the blanks in sentences with phrases or words from their hand of cards.
Telestrations: A drawing and guessing game where players sketch a word or phrase, pass their drawing to the next player, who then guesses what it is, and so on. The results can be hilariously distorted by the end.
Exploding Kittens: A card game that combines strategy and humor, where players try to avoid exploding kitten cards using various actions and defusing cards.
The Resistance: A game of deception and deduction where players take on the roles of resistance members and spies, with the objective of either completing missions (resistance) or sabotaging them (spies).
Taboo: A word guessing game where players have to describe a word to their team without using specific "taboo" words or phrases.

User questions & answers
Question: | How is this different from Scategories |
Answer: | I'm from Canada (we lived in USA for 5 yrs too) and your comments about Canada and "why Amazon won't ship this game here," (I "Do" love my country!) are bringing tears to my eyes. So funny ! You guys should all organize yourselves & create a board game utilizing your great senses of humor. Too funny! ........"eh ! " |
Question: | Is the cards super clean? can it be played with children |
Answer: | I believe they used the 1st version on Table Top. If so, then the game plays exactly the same and I wouldn't get the current edition. There are differences in the drawings on the cards, the disease pieces are now plastic and smaller instead of wood, and the board looks slightly different. Otherwise, the game is the same and not worth getting if you already have version 1. Instead, and if you haven't already, consider buying the expansions to make the game even more fun! |
Question: | Where can I buy this game |
Answer: | I think 45-60 minutes with a strong team who knows the game is a good estimate. The first games with new players will take a while, even on easy, because there are a lot of little nuisances and details to learn... and if you're playing with a few different strong personalities, you may loose time to discussing the best tactics and strategies. When my husband and I play, 45 minutes is a good estimate, but we also work well together and know the rules of the game. |
Question: | Is this the same as Scattegories |
Answer: | The box says 8+, the Amazon description says 13-15. The expansions all are 13+, so maybe that's why Amazon is confused. We haven't played any of the expansions yet, but my 5yo and 8yo both love Pandemic. We got it shortly after the 5yo's birthday, and at first it was kind of frustrating at times when he'd insist on doing something completely illogical, but he's gotten better in the past half year. That said, he reads way above grade level, so 8+ is probably a better idea - you want the kid to be able to read the names of the cities, etc. I wouldn't buy the game if you only have kids under 8, unless they're profoundly gifted - we got it for the 8yo, and the 5yo just happened to be able to go along, but there are games that would be more suitable for his age - he isn't yet really able to strategize at the level needed for Pandemic. And really, saving the world can wait until the ripe old age of 8. ;) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Why is this no longer available? And is there somewhere else I can purchase it from |
Answer: | You can grab it currently at http://www.secrethitler.com, we are trying to restock Amazon ASAP! |
Question: | Didn't the kick-starter version come with a bullet toy that you can use to signify a player got assassinated. Does that not come with this edition |
Answer: | No, there was no toy or bullet for assassinations in any editions. Kickstarter editions had the options to come with wooden boxes with brass hardware, bonuses included a fascism pack of cards against humanity cards. A backstory comic of secret hitler. Optional upgrades included three or eight different 11x17 art prints by various artists. |
Question: | Is the board quality the same quality as what came in the Kickstarter edition |
Answer: | Every single component, including the box, is the same! The only difference is that it does not come in the additional wooden box option. - Maya |
Question: | Can anyone confirm whether or not this is a knockoff? There have breen at least one listing circulating around Amazon |
Answer: | This is the only listing that is not a knockoff! This is the official game made by us at Goat, Wolf, & Cabbage. - Maya |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you get more points based on where you hit the other person with the burrito |
Answer: | Burn it, to appease the trivia gods |
Question: | Are the burritos made of latex |
Answer: | Yes!! My wife and i’s marriage is strong and going great. But I could see where this could boost conversation, as well as get you thinking about maybe things you’d like to do with your partner. We played this game on 2-3 rod trips already. Only bad thing, it’s pretty much a one time use. No point in asking or discussing the same topics over and over. Hope this helps!! |
Question: | Can I play with real burritos |
Answer: | Hey Shelly, thanks for reaching out! Definitely! Whether new or married for a long time, couples will learn something new about their partners when using the cards. The questions are truly designed to get you into a meaningful conversation and is suitable for different stages in your relationship. |
Question: | Can I order extra burritos if the dog ate half of one |
Answer: | Definitely not a game. Cards have questions for each other to answer in order to converse and maybe learn something new about your partner or just to get each other talking. More a healthy relationship builder than a game. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can 5 people play this game |
Answer: | 5 people can’t play THIS version, because the pieces are smaller. For a 5 person game you would need an expansion pack, and it is not compatible with the size of the family version pieces. |
Question: | How young of a player could still enjoy this version |
Answer: | The folks above are right - a fairly sharp 7 or 8 year old can hang. I played with my daughter (12) and two sons (just turned 9 and almost 8). They loved it I coached the youngest one strategy early on but by mid game he had it down. If your kids like card games or Pokemon or Minecraft they probably will enjoy this. |
Question: | Could an 8 and half year old grasp the concepts and play |
Answer: | My 7 year old is able to play, it's important to her that we are clear about the rules and she likes that she has the same chance as everyone- one thing that's still hard is keeping cards a secret. |
Question: | What's the difference between this catan family bundle and settlers of catan |
Answer: | Family version is physically smaller and has chunks of the board together (less move-ability for play versions). Our family uses this set for travel. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How many points to you get if you get the question right? It only tells you how many points to delete if you get the question wrong |
Answer: | My wife and I have been using question games and books for over a year. We usually spend 45 minutes a day asking and answering questions. It has brought us closer together and is exciting to find out something new even though we've been married over 50 years. Sometimes the simplest question can lead to major discussions. Also check out books of questions some having over 4000 questions. Some questions are similar but that's OK because people change over time and it keeps you current with who your partner really is. |
Question: | Are the questions multiple choice |
Answer: | Yes. Pretty clean |
Question: | How many players does it take |
Answer: | This game works for both married and unmarried couples. There are people in a relationship for under a year and know each other well enough to fully play the game. If you take a look at a few example cards that we have in the image section of the listing and feel that you guys can answer a few of them, then the game will probably work well for you guys! |
Question: | What happens after you answer all the questions throw it away |
Answer: | Unfortunately not at the moment. We'll announce it if we do release an expansion pack in the near future. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can only two people play this enjoyably |
Answer: | Yes and no - in clue you play against each other moving around a board and making guesses at person-place-weapon in an attempt to solve the crime first. Information is kept secret and you have to be in the right place and the right time. In Mysterium you win or lose as a team. For the first, longest part of the game, you are each trying to figure out a person-place-weapon assigned just to you (each person has been assigned their own unique person-place-weapon combo). There is no board to move around, no race to the finish - you simply need to all guess your combos before the night ends. The ghost hands out 1-7 cards with dream like pictures (think Dixit, but more complex and darker theme) to each player - this is the player's "dream"/"vision" - each player has 1-7 cards each turn that relate only to what *they* are trying to figure out that turn (first turn everyone is trying to figure out who their person is, when they solve that they move on to place and then to weapon). The cards are public and everyone may advise each other on what person-place-weapon they think any given "dream" is suggesting. After 7 turns (or sooner if everyone has guessed their combos), one of the player combos becomes THE combo - the true murder in the true location with the actual weapon. All the combos are laid out on the table and the ghost gives out one shared dream of 3 cards - one for the person, one for the place, one for the weapon (it's a little more complex...) - the players each vote on which their unique combos the ghost is trying to say is the TRUE one. If the majority guesses right, everyone wins. If not, everyone loses. So, as you can see, Clue may be the closest comparison, but it is not all that similar to Clue. |
Question: | Would this game be good with 8-13 year olds |
Answer: | The questions are more for adults and the answers are more risque. Lots of fun if you have fun people who are willing to take a walk on the wild side!! Lol |
Question: | Does this game work as a party game |
Answer: | Depends on the ages of people playing. The cards themselves are clean but adult with dirty minds can be challenging |
Question: | What is the number of unique game states that can be created at the start of each game |
Answer: | Amazon |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the difference between the basic pack and the premium pack |
Answer: | The premium pack has the extra cards. We really enjoy the game and I'm glad we got the extra cards from the start |
Question: | Can this be played with more than 6 people since there are more decks |
Answer: | Yes, you can add a deck and people to the circle but it can get chaotic! We usually split into two groups. You want at least 4 people in a group. |
Question: | Are these new decks, or do they repeat the decks in the original Anomia box |
Answer: | They are all new decks. From the back of the box: "This game features six all-new decks with over 425 unique category cards - plus customizable blank cards for adding your own categories!" |
Question: | game tutorial |
Answer: | Simply put, you have 3 or more players. Each player, one at a time, flips a card over. On each card is a symbol and a word or phrase. When there are two cards shown with matching symbols, those two players have a "face off" - and as quickly as possible they must name something that is on their opponents card. For example, if your opponent's card says "Movie", you must name any movie, before your opponent names something on your card. Sounds simple, and is really - except you'd be surprised how hard it is to come up with a movie when speed is of the essence. Super fun and all sorts of things come out of everyone's mouth which makes it hilarious. We played with 3 generations in our family - ranging from an 8 year old to a 75 year old and everyone had a blast. |

User questions & answers
Question: | is only one person drawing at a time? So one large whiteboard is enough |
Answer: | Only one person is drawing at a time until unless it is an all play. Then one person from each team draws at the same time. One large whiteboard would definitely be sufficient if playing with two teams. It could get interesting if playing with three of more teams! Paper and pencils are provided. |
Question: | Is this game really that “juvenile” or are the other reviews just from people who are a little uptight |
Answer: | We are in our 50's and we enjoyed the game! Some were more juvenile than others, like any game, but we had alot of laughs while playing! |
Question: | Thinking of using a white board for the drawings...does that make sense |
Answer: | Yes! We've played that way, and it works great! |
Question: | Can this be played by 2 people |
Answer: | The rules are written for a minimum of 2 teams (at least 4 players), but I know people have played with 2 players by making up their own rules. Hope that helps! |

IT'S LIKE AN R-RATED PICTIONARY-STYLE GAME.
It's a drawing game... but NOTHING like the drawing games you played as a kid.
It's a social party game of your uncensored sketches... NSFW sketches. (Nope, they're definitely not safe for work and NOT family-friendly.)
You will draw many things you've (hopefully) never drawn before... or even considered drawing before.
It's full of slang and suggestive, questionable, inappropriate terms that you wouldn't say in front of Mom. (Sensitive types, this game is NOT for you.)
And it's freaking hysterical.
A LEVEL DRAWING FIELD
There's no voting, judging, or waiting on people to play cards in this drawing game.
Instead, you draw questionable pictures, watch your friends draw inappropriate pictures, try to guess what those naughty drawings are supposed to represent, and race to steal points.
Artistic skills are NOT a requirement and probably won't help, since no one draws well in a rushed 60 seconds.
Each game clue has been deemed drawable in a literal sense, even if you might not know its meaning. Except for a few; sometimes you just need to know things. But if you don't, head on over to Urban Dictionary or Google and search to your heart's content. Consider it an education.

A large, green animal from long ago? Must be a dinosaur. Water, cube and cold weather? Has to be an ice cube. A man with a job who rides large brown animals in the United States? Is that a cowboy? In Concept, players team up to place tokens on a board covered in icons, depicting everything from ancient samurai and snails to Leonardo DiCaprio. Points go to the player who can guess the correctly by looking at the various symbols, but in this wild party game, the points are less important than just having a great time!.
- Engaging and fun for the whole family
- Use your creativity and imagination to solve the riddles from the visual clues
- Easy rules have everyone playing in minutes
User questions & answers
Question: | If english is not my language can it be played as well |
Answer: | the board has no written language on it. Mostly symbols and colors making the game easily playable for other languages. However, the cards are printed in english. So it depends on how well you know English. There may be a printing in other languages, but you’d have to do some research on that to find out. |
Question: | can I play with a 6 year old |
Answer: | My 8 year old loves this game and really REALLY wants to play even if we are playing with all adults. :) My husband usually will help him pick out an item on the card (because my son likes to over complicate things) or they will come up with their own things for my son to represent. But a lot of the cards have really easy things to depict, so I would way if you are willing to help them a few times, or (like others have suggested) make cards that they draw from, a 6 year old can play, but will need help. But my 8 year old loves it - so it won't be long, though. :) |
Question: | Can two people play this enjoyably? Looks great but it's just my partner and I |
Answer: | Yes definitely! My wife and I play it a lot, and very seldom do we play it with other people. We don't do points of course, but we just play till we're done, usually making up our own stuff for the other person to guess rather than use the cards. Sometimes we'll do stuff that has to so with when we were dating and stuff, which is fun :) |
Question: | This looks like a party game (that is, 4+ players), how well does it play with two though? Is it merely ok, or is it actually fun with two |
Answer: | This game is a staple with my extended family. We have so much fun that it doesn’t matter how many people there are. My brother and I can just go back and forth 2-player or there could be 10 people. Doesn’t matter |
