10 best parker brothers risk games
Parker Brothers is a well-known American board game manufacturer that has produced several popular games, including the classic game "Risk." Here's some information about Parker Brothers' Risk games:
Origins of Risk: Risk is a strategy board game invented by French filmmaker Albert Lamorisse in 1957. The game was initially called "La Conquête du Monde" (The Conquest of the World) and was later licensed to Parker Brothers for distribution in English-speaking countries.
Objective: The objective of Risk is to achieve global domination by controlling territories and continents through strategic planning, alliances, and tactical gameplay. Players deploy armies, engage in battles, and attempt to capture territories from their opponents.
Game Components: A typical Risk game includes a game board depicting a world map divided into various territories. It also comes with armies in different colors, territory cards, dice, and rulebook.
Gameplay: Players take turns, and each turn consists of three main phases: reinforcement, attack, and fortification.During reinforcement, players receive additional armies based on the number of territories and continents they control. In the attack phase, players can choose to attack neighboring territories. Battles are determined using dice rolls. Fortification allows players to move armies between their territories.
Continents: The world map on the game board is divided into continents, each comprising several territories. Owning an entire continent at the start of a player's turn provides bonus armies. However, holding continents can make a player a target for others.
Territory Cards: Players receive territory cards for successfully capturing territories. These cards can be traded in for additional armies at the start of a player's turn or saved for later use.
Strategy and Alliances: Risk is a game of strategy, and successful players need to balance expansion with defense. Forming temporary alliances with other players can also be a key tactic in the game.
Variants and Editions: Over the years, Parker Brothers and other publishers have released various editions and variants of Risk, including themed versions set in different historical periods or with unique gameplay elements.
Popularity and Legacy: Risk has gained a substantial following and is considered a classic in the world of board gaming. It has inspired numerous spin-offs, computer adaptations, and tournaments.
Collector's Items: Vintage editions of Risk produced by Parker Brothers, especially those in good condition and with unique features, have become sought-after collector's items among board game enthusiasts.
Overall, Parker Brothers' Risk games have had a significant impact on the world of board gaming, providing players with a challenging and engaging experience centered around strategy and world domination.

1975 Vintage Game complete with directions
- Vintage 1975 Risk World Conquest Board Game by Parker Brothers
User questions & answers
Question: | Are the game pieces wooden triangle shaped or plastic |
Answer: | Hello, yes. I use the ball with the senior population and have found they really like it. You can inflate it as much or as little as you want. We use it between the legs, and it's especially handy to them because they're able to grip the ball one-handed if needed thanks to its somewhat tacky texture. Let me know if you have any other questions! I do have to add air to them every 1-2 months. Keep the straw that is included to blow it up! |
Question: | How many cards are supposed to be in the deck |
Answer: | Approximately 8". |
Question: | Does it have all the pieces |
Answer: | It is meant to have this faint smell to keep its soft texture! It is a nice smell! But it is much lighter as u use it mor often! :) |
