A Game of Strategic Conquest

It's a game of alliances, betrayal, and surprise attacks because on the Risk game battlefield, anything goes. Players begin with a set of army figures and place them strategically throughout the map in order to occupy those territories. Players then try to conquer each other's territories by invading and engaging in battles. Depending on the roll of the dice, players will either defeat the enemy or be defeated. The player who eliminates all of their opponents and occupies every territory wins the game.

4 Ways to Play

The Risk game guide lays out 4 different ways to play: Secret Mission, Classic, Risk for 2 Players, and Capital. When playing the Secret Mission variation, players race to complete the secret mission noted on the Secret Mission cards. For Classic Risk, players must conquer every territory on the board. Risk for 2 Players adds a neutral army to the mix, and Capital Risk is a shorter variation of the classic game. No matter which variation you play, remember…when it comes to taking over the world, it's all about who is willing to take the biggest Risk.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this version include the secret mission cards
Answer: It fit my older ENCO 14, replacing my pinch block style. The rectangular tang shown on the right allowed my adjusting screws to hold it in correct position for the blades I was using. Does not replace the lower blade guides.
Question: are the cases the hold the risk pieces made of plastic of paper
Answer: Yes. I originally bought for a harbor freight 14" band-saw I was fixing for someone, then I decided it was too good for that and put it on my Delta
Question: what is the dimensions of the game board
Answer: You first Loosen the thumbscrews then you turn the screws on the face of the ball bearings with a screwdriver until you get the cam shaft where are you need to be you don’t want them too tight on the blade you should be able to grasp that bearing with your two fingers and be able to barely spin it
Question: Will it be fun for a eleven year old
Answer: Hi Tom, I purchased this guide to fit an old Reliant 14" band saw I really have no idea what the 18" delta looks like. I was unimpressed though with the fit on the Reliant as I could not adjust the guide to the proper position for smaller blades but was satisfactory on the larger width blade.
Question: Why are there no missions in this game
Answer: These cool blocks are 13/64"' square and would be a little too small. Amazon product # B0035YLTO4 is 5/16'' square and could be filed or sanded to fit. I'm sorry we don't have them available in 1/4" square.
Question: Is it a good game for kids as young as
Answer: I am no sure but they are 1/4” squares so if your old ones are about that size I would say yes they work well too

User questions & answers

Question: What cultures are represented
Answer: Sorry, normal board game size. I didn't measure it. We are pleased with it.
Question: Are the pieces plastic or metal? Thanks
Answer: It would be challenging for an eleven year old. Fun is a difficult adjective to judge. If your eleven year old enjoys tactical skill games and has a long attention span, then this game is very fun. It is not a game of luck, so it requires careful planning and both offensive and defensive strategies. I think I was about thirteen when I started playing, and after playing a few times and getting the hang of the rules and having an idea of my options (strategies), I had a LOT of fun playing. It really is an outstanding game.
Question: How does this compare to castle risk from the mid 80's-early 90's
Answer: @Kazu, how old are you? This is more like the original Risk than the newer (now older?) Risk update. The original Risk had implied missions to conquer continents, gain armies, and crush your opponent(s). Then the game was changed (more than once?) in the 21st Century to include cities, capitals, and mission cards. Looks like what was old is new, and what was new is old... Make sense? :)
Question: The reviews all seem pretty recent...is this version a new game? And how does it compare to regular version
Answer: We just got this game for Christmas and played with our kids 12, 10, and 8. I had my 5 year old roll the dice for me so he could be involved. My 8 year old won our first game so I'd say yes, depending on the child, it can be great for someone as young as 8. We had a blast playing and it was a fantastic way to spend an evening together.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this version have the mission cards
Answer: No, This version is so classic. But it is my favorite.
Question: Can someone tell me the actual contents in this game? how many cards, dice , pieces and such
Answer: If your familiar with the game of Risk this version has the standard number of cards(42), game pieces (about 250) and dice (6). It looks neat but the board is smaller than normal. It also folds too much (to fit in the box) so it’s fragile. I don’t recommended this version.
Question: Is it possible for 2 people to play this
Answer: We used to take 2 or 3 colors each so it was kind of like 4 or 6 players. Sometimes we'd be allies with our own colors, sometimes we'd play it straight, each color for itself. If one player lost both/all his colors, he'd take over one of the remaining ones.
Question: What are the dimensions of the box? Is it the same size as the box Clue comes in
Answer: Yes, it is the same size as the clue and other games in the bookcase line.
