Answer:	I've played both the old version and the new version dozens of time (though it's been a couple years since I played the first edition). Most of the changes are cosmetic in nature. The cards and board were redesigned (though they function exactly the same, except as noted). The nice wooden infection cubes have been replaced by a cheaper-feeling plastic. The cards and game look different, but are comparable in quality. The game play is basically the same, with a couple of minor changes. They buffed Light Green - the engineer (who can now charter flight from any city with a research station to anywhere on the board by discarding any card) and White - the researcher (other players in the same city can now take any card from him, as opposed to him having to give the card during one of his turns). I think they also slightly changed Purple - the dispatcher. The buffs are very helpful, as the engineer was previously a virtually useless role. Now he can get anywhere easily by placing a city for one turn, then discarding any card to fly anywhere for his second turn, where he can heal two blocks immediately. This makes the researcher much more effective because she can spend all 4 moves getting to someone else, who can then spend their first three moves taking cards from the researcher and their fourth move developing a cure. The second edition also added 2 new roles: the contingency planner and the quarantine specialist. The former, as an action, can (one card at a time, and once per special event) redraw a special event card from the discard pile back into his own hand that doesn't count against his limit (i.e. He can have 8 cards as long as one of them is a redrawn special event). I typically don't play with the contingency planner because his role completely sucks. The quarantine specialist simply prevents new diseases from being placed in the city she is in, as well as all adjacent cities. If you have 2 adjacent cities with three blocks each, you can avoid a double-outbreak simply by moving her to either of the cities. We often use the dispatcher to move her around as needed. In summary, the second edition simply fixed a few annoying weaknesses of the engineer and researcher, replaced nice wooden cubes with cheap plastic ones, and added one fun new role. If your original version is still in working condition, don't buy a new game. Just print the new rules to buff the old roles. It's not worth a whole new board game just for the one role of quarantine specialist. If your old game is worn, get a new copy, but keep the wooden disease cubes.

Answer:	Yes you can cross over and use one chip for another sequence that is in your orginal sequence. You can only use one chip from your original sequence to make another one though.

Answer:	I believe they used the 1st version on Table Top. If so, then the game plays exactly the same and I wouldn't get the current edition. There are differences in the drawings on the cards, the disease pieces are now plastic and smaller instead of wood, and the board looks slightly different. Otherwise, the game is the same and not worth getting if you already have version 1. Instead, and if you haven't already, consider buying the expansions to make the game even more fun!

Answer:	I think 45-60 minutes with a strong team who knows the game is a good estimate. The first games with new players will take a while, even on easy, because there are a lot of little nuisances and details to learn... and if you're playing with a few different strong personalities, you may loose time to discussing the best tactics and strategies. When my husband and I play, 45 minutes is a good estimate, but we also work well together and know the rules of the game.
Question:	Is this the same as Scattegories
Answer:	The box says 8+, the Amazon description says 13-15. The expansions all are 13+, so maybe that's why Amazon is confused. We haven't played any of the expansions yet, but my 5yo and 8yo both love Pandemic. We got it shortly after the 5yo's birthday, and at first it was kind of frustrating at times when he'd insist on doing something completely illogical, but he's gotten better in the past half year. That said, he reads way above grade level, so 8+ is probably a better idea - you want the kid to be able to read the names of the cities, etc. I wouldn't buy the game if you only have kids under 8, unless they're profoundly gifted - we got it for the 8yo, and the 5yo just happened to be able to go along, but there are games that would be more suitable for his age - he isn't yet really able to strategize at the level needed for Pandemic. And really, saving the world can wait until the ripe old age of 8. ;)

Answer:	It’s pretty similar in that you have a list of statements and need to come up with words that answer it and all start with the same letter. Goes faster. Has some off-color topics and references that have made a couple of moments during family game night with 14 and 16 year olds a bit awkward: words that describe your period (awkward for my son who doesn’t have a period), words that describe your favorite adult toy, words that describe the first time you had sex. Not every round has these, but probably half of the rounds have one of 8 questions like these.

Answer:	Yes and no - in clue you play against each other moving around a board and making guesses at person-place-weapon in an attempt to solve the crime first. Information is kept secret and you have to be in the right place and the right time. In Mysterium you win or lose as a team. For the first, longest part of the game, you are each trying to figure out a person-place-weapon assigned just to you (each person has been assigned their own unique person-place-weapon combo). There is no board to move around, no race to the finish - you simply need to all guess your combos before the night ends. The ghost hands out 1-7 cards with dream like pictures (think Dixit, but more complex and darker theme) to each player - this is the player's "dream"/"vision" - each player has 1-7 cards each turn that relate only to what *they* are trying to figure out that turn (first turn everyone is trying to figure out who their person is, when they solve that they move on to place and then to weapon). The cards are public and everyone may advise each other on what person-place-weapon they think any given "dream" is suggesting. After 7 turns (or sooner if everyone has guessed their combos), one of the player combos becomes THE combo - the true murder in the true location with the actual weapon. All the combos are laid out on the table and the ghost gives out one shared dream of 3 cards - one for the person, one for the place, one for the weapon (it's a little more complex...) - the players each vote on which their unique combos the ghost is trying to say is the TRUE one. If the majority guesses right, everyone wins. If not, everyone loses. So, as you can see, Clue may be the closest comparison, but it is not all that similar to Clue.

Answer:	Having played this game (for the first time just yesterday), I really don't think that people will develop a "code". Kind of like Dixit, it is pretty free association for the images. Since the what, where, and who are random with a number of combinations and there are quite a few pictures, it will be very difficult to line up patterns all that much. I found it was pretty hard, in most cases, for the "ghost" to pick a good picture, so most of the selections were quite "out there". A lot of free association and using what other players were selecting to reduce the number of choices, it was a bit more possible to narrow things down.I believe that this will be a very replayable game but I also expect that after a few games, the players will get better at both picking pictures to associate and figuring out what the picture might mean, but not so much because of the selection of pictures but more because the thinking processes for both the ghost and the players will become more refine through learning how to pick.Overall, I find it to be a pretty good game.DaveBoardgames4us

Answer:	Absolutely worth owning both. The gameplay mechanics and reasoning behind them are quite different. Whitechapel is about DEDUCTIVE reasoning based on Jack's hidden movement and trail. Players triangulate where the Jack player is based on where he has been. Sometimes there is only one solution. Pure logic. Mysterium's gameplay is all about INDUCTIVE reasoning. There can be more than one possible solution and gameplay is about getting inside another player's head to understand the solution they chose. Both Fabulous games. Mysterium is more accessible and family friendly. Non-gamers can get into it right away, while Whitechapel is more demanding. Whitechapel is more similar to Fury of Dracula, another great game that has just been republished.

If you're looking to only play this with two players, I would not get it.

Answer:	Depends on their maturity level. I have a 12 & a 13 year old that play the game. They loved it from the get go and were able to learn and play the game very quickly. For younger players than that, if they seem to struggle you could probably handpick the cards so its easier for them to give clues or guess the clues given. But, like I said, my 12 & 13 year old learned it in one play and love playing it. Besides, this game can be played team vs team or all in the same team (cooperative). I hope this helps a little. Answer:	We just played it at my twins' 14th birthday party with two 5-person teams. It works best with teams of 4-8 people. Much bigger than that, and the caucusing part of the game gets unruly.

Answer:	This is a great family game! No vulgar or questionable language is part of the play. Have fun!

Answer:	Mitchell said the wooden cities qtys and wooden roads qtys are reversed on the 5th edition (misprint). The qtys on the 4th (16 cities and 60 roads) is correct.
Question:	Is this more of a kids game? Is it challenging enough for adults
Answer:	Most games don't get several printings. Catan is one of the few that has gotten more than one. That happens when there is high enough demand to warrant more being produced. They also tend to change a thing here and there, like the robber changing from black to gray, or the box going from a square to a rectangle. A rules update here and there, and you have 5th edition. It's more about popularity than updates though.
Question:	Can someone tell me what the differences are between the 2nd and 1st generation games
Answer:	My husband and I play all the time. We don't use the "robber" but, if you roll a 7, you DO get to take one of the other's cards. The game takes a bit longer and you should always make one of your first choices a "3 for 1" trade port or you could be stuck without moves for a long time. We have learned to place our original settlements where we can collect the necessary cards to build roads AND future settlements. We didn't play for over a year because we couldn't find anyone else to play. We love the game and finally gave it a go on our own. You have to adjust your strategy and it's a far different game than it is with 3 or 4 players but it's still lots of fun. We love it!

Answer:	You can absolutely play with just two people. My daughter (age 10) and I play at least once a week. This game has a lot of flexibility if you want to change how you keep score or modify challenges to make them a little easier for younger players or less coordinated grown ups. This game was a quarantine life saver. You can do just a few challenges at a time or play the game in one sitting. Everything you need is in the box so you don’t need scrounge around the house to find items to complete challenge cards.

FIND THE SECRET WORD

Shuffle a chameleon card into the code cards and hand them out. One of you is now the chameleon. Roll the dice and use your code card to find the secret word (if you’re the chameleon just pretend!)

BLEND IN, DON'T GET CAUGHT!

Each player now says one word to prove that they know what the secret word is. If you’re too obvious the chameleon will work it out and will successfully blend in. If you’re too vague the other players will suspect you’re the chameleon!

SPOT THE CHAMELEON

Everyone votes on who they think the chameleon is. If they get it wrong the chameleon wins the game. If they get it right the chameleon still has a chance to escape by guessing the secret word.
