Product description

If you loved playing the Candy Land board game when you were a child, you can share the experience with your loved ones and start down the "magical" road to sweet surprises! This adorable version of the classic Candy Land game features gingerbread men as movers, colored cards, and fun illustrations that kids love, with different destinations like Cookie Commons and the chunky Chocolate Mountain. Players choose their cards, move their pawns, and let their imaginations soar as they make their way to the castle to win! For 2 to 4 players. Hasbro Gaming and all related terms are trademarks of Hasbro.

"Once upon a time, King Kandy, the Imperial Head Bonbon and Grand Jujube of Candy Land disappeared." Thus begins the magical journey of Milton Bradley's classic Candy Land board game. Captivated by the story of a kidnapped king and eager to help find him, little ones move their gingerbread pawns along a rainbow path and through a land of candy characters, all subjects of King Kandy's realm.

Playing cards thoughtfully designed for non-readers are coded with colorful squares matching the jeweled stepping-stone path or an occasional token matching one of the characters' symbols: draw a blue card, move to the nearest blue stepping-stone; draw a snowflake and earn a visit to Queen Frostine's iceberg. There are occasional pitfalls, too: land on the wrong square and you might be stuck in Molasses Swamp until a red card is drawn. With all these enticing, sugarcoated images (and King Kandy plainly visible at path's end), children can't help but be delighted by Candy Land. It's delicious! Instructions are in both Spanish and English. Candy Land is for two to four players) --Julie Ubben

    User questions & answers

Question: Why is the manufacturer recommended age listed as 3 - 7 months? The warning says choking hazard for kids under 3 yrs
Answer: That appears to be an error. I suspect it's supposed to say 3-7 years. My 3yr old loves this game. My 7yr old tires of it a little more quickly. I'd suggest this is a great game for 3-6 years old.
Question: How sturdy are the logs? They appear to be cardboard. Are they
Answer: yes, but they are of the same thick sturdy construction of the box. for comparison's sake - take the trivial pursuit box vs. monopoly or chutes and ladders. the latter two end up ripping at the seams and are easily crushed. Trivial pursuit box is much sturdier and holds up. Sneaky Snacky Squirrel (box and logs) are better and stronger than trivial pursuit. if you step on the logs, they'll probably show damage, but form regular handling, not at all. in fact not only are they thick board, they are coated. my son also just got chutes and ladders and it is so cheap and flimsy - this game (SSS) was so well made that it was actually an ooh and aah session when we passed it around. like I said, 4 ppl ordered it once they saw it. If you are considering this game, I recommend it 1000%. and I do mean 1000
Question: why can`t an 85 year old play this game...why does the recommended age go to 83 years and 4 months
Answer: I suppose it's along the same answer as to why the manufacturers recommended age is 3 -7 months but there is a warning it's not for children under 3 years old. Good thing this isn't a counting game.
    Question:
Answer: Or, what is 3+0. Or 5-2. So many possibilities.

    User questions & answers

Question: Is the board game a different game and sold separately
Answer: Yes. This is a completely different game and sold separately than the board game. It is similar in that you are finding things in the pictures but this is a quicker type of game than the board game.
Question: We found a broken sand-timer when we opened the game. Does anyone know how much time the sand-timer is set for? Thank you
Answer: The cheapest solution is to visit a thrift store and buy a $2 copy of Yahtzee or any other game that has a sand timer. However, if the game was shipped and sold by Amazon, see if it's within your return window for a refund.
Question: Does anyone know how many there are of each mystery item? Some Goldbug items we're able to find 10 (# of magnifying glasses), do they all have
Answer: We've been wondering the same thing! My kids are convinced there are 10 of each item, even though we haven't been able to locate them all.
    Question: what age group
Answer: My 2-yr old absolutely loves this game. She plays the game with us for hours. I bought 5-6 toddler/preschooler board games and no other games could ever have her engaged for that long. She gets confused about two aspects of the game though: 1) she may start looking for objects from a previous turn while undertaking the current Goldbug search; 2) reaching the island does not seem to be her goal of the game - she's too happy to share the food with the pigs.

This wacky, quacky memory and matching game combines developmental skills for young children with the fun of a 'My First Game.' Players take turns picking up a duck and looking at the color and shape; if it matches their colored shape, they get to keep the duck. If it doesn't match, they put it back. The first player with 3 ducks that match their shape wins.

Easy set up for repeat play

Place all 12 ducks on the game unit's pond so they face in a clockwise direction. Each player chooses a different colorful shape to collect: square, circle, triangle or star. Then press the large button in the center, and the ducks will start swimming.

    Develops memory & matching skills

On each turn, a player picks up one duck and looks at the colorful shape on the bottom of that duck to see if it matches the colorful shape they chose to collect. If not, the player shows the shape to the other players and puts the duck back on the pond.

    Promotes shape & color recognition

If the colorful shape on the bottom of the duck matches the shape the player chose to collect, then the player gets to keep the duck. Then play passes to the left to see if the next player can find a match.

    Makes learning fun!

The first player to find all 3 ducks that match the colorful shape they chose is the winner, making that player the lucky duck.

It's the family favorite HI HO! CHERRY-O board game! Preschoolers can have so much fun picking fruit to fill their baskets, they don’t even realize they’re practicing math skills, such as counting, addition and subtraction. Players choose from two different play options and take turns picking pretend cherries, blueberries, apples and oranges from their tree. If the spinner lands on a bird or a dog players will have to return cherries to their tree. Landing on a spilled bucket means they have to start the game over! Think of the Hi Ho! Cherry-O board game when it comes to a fruity fun way for kids to practice math skills! Hasbro Gaming and all related terms are trademarks of Hasbro.

Round and round she goes. Hi Ho! Cherry-O is the counting game in which players race to be the first to have 10 cherries in their basket. A spin of the arrow determines your fate. It will instruct you to pick one, two, three, or four cherries from your tree and put 'em in your basket. That is, of course, if you don't land on the bird or the dog, requiring you to take two cherries from your basket and return them to the tree. And try not to land on the spilled bucket or--you guessed it--spill the contents of your basket or you start over. --Alison Golder

    User questions & answers

Question: How long do it take to play this game
Answer: Depends whether or not you play with or without putting the puzzle together. My 5 year old granddaughter and I usually play without doing that part and our games last around 15 minutes including setup. She loves it!!
Question: Where do you get replacement cherries
Answer: No idea. But the game in most stores is only $5, probably cheaper than replacement if you can find them.
Question: What is the 9-piece puzzle for
Answer: The 9 piece puzzle is the the cooperative version of the game. If you chose to play that version everyone's tree has to be empty before the puzzle is completed or the bird wins and everyone loses. It is in the instructions of the game if you want more details on how to play that version.
Question: How is this different from the original? It looks like this one has cherries, blueberries, apples and oranges. Are there other differences
Answer: I can't remember the original game perfectly so I can't be sure, but I think another new feature is a choice between competitive vs cooperative play--all players can play against each other, or play as one team. In that case, it is a race against assembling a bird puzzle. If all fruit is off the trees before the bird puzzle is complete, everyone wins. My young kids (ages 6 and 4) like playing that way best.

Question: why is the game sold out everywhere and some so expensive

Answer: Like any board game, it could get crushed because it isn’t meant to be a travel game, but if you are careful, it should arrive intact.

Answer: I no longer have the instructions but the tokens ( called aphids) are used according to the directions on the playing cards and the board. Good luck.

Answer: It is too simple for 5-6 year olds unless they are playing it with 2-3 year olds.
Question: Is this the 2016 version of the game
Answer: Yes it is. However the only change from earlier versions is the box and that the room cards are flat (do not fold in the center)
    Question: What edition is this
    Answer: 2016
Question: Would this game be appropriate for elderly? if not, any suggestions? thanks
Answer: It would be too simple for the elderly but Monopoly Jr would be a good engaging game.

    User questions & answers

Question: Why is it not in stock
Answer: The game is in stock . If you are looking on a phone, press the button that says "See all buying options" if you are looking on a computer click "Available from these sellers"
Question: Where is this item shipping from
Answer: Affordable Treasures Halloween ships from Los Gatos, California. We ship same day order comes in, or next day at the latest.
Question: Where can I find extra small ice pieces? We are missing one
Answer: Use real ice...but play fast before it melts
Question: Can I Use This For Curling
Answer: Depends on what kind of curling you're asking about. For weight curling you certainly could use it although it wouldn't had much weight. For curling your hair, I guess if you could find a way to wrap your hair around the cubes and secure them it would sort of work. And for the other curling that looks like you're cleaning floors, I would probably say no, unless you tried using the box as a curling stone.
