Answer:	I don’t know. I am sure Melissa and Doug could tell you. We donated this to our local Children’s Health Center in memory of our daughter who died of cancer at age 4. All I know is that they are sturdy enough to with stand the daily use by children at the clinic.

Answer:	I would say they are similar in quality, though the Melissa and Doug foods are larger (especially things like the banana). I like this set because it has a few more unusual foods, and I like that it has certain foods in multiple colors (like the peppers and grapes). But we enjoy the Melissa and Doug set as well.

Answer:	Im not really sure why this set is labeled 3 and up because it is the New Sprouts quality line of food and those are labeled 3 and up so Im not really sure why this toy has the label 3 and up unless they think the sorting and color matching is more at the 3yr old level. My daughter is 19mos old and plays with these toys I don't feel any of them are small enough to be a choking hazard, the smallest piece is the berries and since it's grouped in a cluster I don't really see how anybody could choke on that.
