Answer:	The number one reason for jamming is not having the flywheels up to speed and keeping them up to speed. Make sure you hold down the flywheel trigger for about 2 seconds before you fire your first shot. After that allow a little time between shots because when it launches the dart, a little momentum is lost and it takes a fraction of a second to regain full power. Also be sure darts are loaded evenly and uniformly. Also be sure your batteries are fully charged. I keep extras ready to go. Rechargeables are great, but they peak at 1.4volts and most run about 1.2 volts. Alkaline batteries start at about 1.5 to 1.6 and drop slowly to about 1.2 at which time they are about done. You can also look for NiZn batteries which are overvoltage and run at 1.6 to start, are rechargeable and drop to about 1.4 for most of the time. They also have the advantage of more rapid recovery between shots. Good luck!

All players start as humans, but once tagged by a zombie, they join the horde. Played mostly on college campuses, HvZ games can last up to a week. 'Endwar' attracted almost 400 HvZ players to Athens, Ohio, in 2017.

Getting s tarted:The basics

You’ll need a range of tools for your Nerf workshop. Each mod in this book begins with a list of required tools and supplies. On pages 12 to 17 are the main ones I use every day to mod Nerf blasters. You don’t need all of these, especially when building your first toolkit. A tidy workshop will help you complete mods faster and with fewer mistakes. Every tool in my shop has a place. Unless I’m in the middle of a project, it stays there. Adam Savage from MythBusters said, “Drawers are where tools go to die.” I couldn’t agree more.

Blaster safety

Safety isn’t the most exciting topic to discuss when it comes to Nerf blasters. However, safety is more important in this growing hobby than ever before. More people are involved today, and the blasters have way better performance specs. Besides, nothing can ruin a fun competition or Nerf get-together than an injury to yourself or a fellow player. This is especially true if that injury is caused by reckless play. Plus, good safety practices can even save you from ruining a battery or a blaster.

Types of blasters and how they work

Nerf uses four primary sources of propulsion in current blasters: springs, electricity, air, and elastic. Each has its own advantages in gameplay. Each also has its own challenges when it comes to modding. For example, spring powered blasters (called 'springers') require no electrical knowledge and can be very simple to mod. Electric blasters have the highest fire rates but require soldering and basic electrical skills.

Springer basics

A spring is a metal coil that returns to its original form after compression (squeezing), extension (stretching), torsion (twisting), or constant force (stretching).Replacing springs is fairly simple. First, we open the blaster, being careful to keep track of where all the parts came from. Then we remove the stock spring. If we want, we can lubricate the plunger tube with Super Lube or white lithium grease.

Step-by-step mods: Springers

Springers are the best introduction to Nerf modding. With a $4 spring and a screwdriver, you can easily increase your range and fps by 40 to 80 percent! In this chapter, we learn three complete springer mods: the Nerf Triad, the Nerf Rival Kronos, and the Nerf Recon MKII. The trickiest part of springer modification usually involves taking the blaster apart.

Electrical and soldering basics

Understanding the basics of electricity is helpful in Nerf modding. It lets you do more than just copy a tutorial (though there is nothing wrong with that). Learning these ideas and skills will help you fix problems, create your own circuits, and work more easily. In this book we discuss DC (direct current) circuits only. DC is the constant flow of electricity through a circuit.

Question:	Do the modulus upgrade kits fit the retaliator
Answer:	A lot of the stuff, yes. The stock will interchange with other stocks of the N-Strike variety, like the Elite Retaliator. The removable magazines are also interchangeable. Even the accessories that use Nerf's version of the Picatinny rail are interchangeable. If it fits one Picatinny rail it will fit them all. (as a side note: Nerf picatinny rails have the same cross section as a Picatinny rail on a real gun, so even real gun accessories can attach to the Nerf guns). Though my kids don't have any modulus barrels, from the pictures online it looks like even the detachable barrels are compatible with the N-Strike system... they look to have the same twist-lock ends that their N-Strike guns use.
Question:	How often does it jam? And does it jam
Answer:	According to my son, it does not jam 'Very Much". He estimates 1 of 20 shots. (part if it is because the top is pulled back too hard.) I've only seen it jam once, and it was an easy fix.

Answer:	It actually has only one trigger. All you have to do is pull back the thing on top, stick the fully loaded clip in, push the thing forward to load a dart then pull the trigger. Cock it again to shoot another dart.

Answer:	It comes with 12 darts and a clip size of 12.

Question:	Can I use different bullets other than nerf or will it jam
Answer:	Yes you can and many nerfers do. Just read the description carefully to make sure that it is compatible with nerf. Right now, my go to is the 200 pack of adventure force waffle darts. That can be picked up at any Walmart for about $10.
Question:	Is the magazine relese ambidextrous
Answer:	Yes, and the Modulus Longstrike’s magazine release levers are easier to access from both sides than the Tristrike’s awkwardly placed mag release levers.
Question:	Where is the instructions
Answer:	They are inside the cardboard panel or with the darts. Also, the instructions are embossed on the shell of the blaster like hieroglyphics if you look closely.
Question:	How is the performance? How far does it shoot
Answer:	I chronographed the Modulus Longstrike at an average velocity of 74 FPS (feet per second) without the barrel attached. The average velocity of an Elite blaster is 70 FPS, so this version of the Longstrike is an overachiever. However, with the long barrel attached, it gets an average of 68 FPS which is still relatively great. It also has some minor firing issues with old, worn, aftermarket darts, and some Accustrike/Accu-fake darts, but they still work with the product. Check out my full review (it’s the long one).
