Answer:	It depends on if your tree is more like Charlie Brown's or Rockefeller Center's! The diameter is actually 27 inches which can go around the typical families Christmas tree with plenty of room. Just in case your tree is larger or you want it even further from your tree you can always purchase extra track. The extra track set numbers are 7499 and 7895.

Answer:	Hello! We recommend ages 12+ for this one, though we know many fans younger than the recommended ages for LEGO® sets are very advanced. It sounds like you also have an advanced builder there. I can't say for sure that your 7 year old wouldn't run into any trouble with the build, however the challenge can also be a part of the fun for any LEGO set!

Answer:	I would check the batteries first. Ours does slow down a lot when the batteries are low or when the wheels aren't perfectly aligned with the track.
