Answer: | Hello, Thank you for your interest in our products! The wooden handle is approximately 6.25" long. The wooden ball is approximately 2.375" diameter and the ball is attached to handle with a 16" long cord. Thank you, Customer Service, Office Playground |
Question: | What ages is this good for? Is it too hard for a 5 year old |
Answer: | Best for ages 7+. It requires a lot of coordination. |
Question: | Does it matter if your left handed or right handed? to play Kendama |
Answer: | Southpaws should probably look for the left-handed version. |
Question: | Is there a hole on the other side so you can make it a right handed kendama |
Answer: | It's my daughters, so I don't know what the differences are. I looked at it and the hole goes all the way through. You can tie it to come out on either side. From what I understand, you want it to hang from the side away from you (with the knot facing you) when you play. It seems to me that shifting it from one hand to the next while keeping the tie on your side of the kendama is all you need to do to make it one hand or the other. Sorry if this isn't what you're looking for, but I'm not very familiar with this toy and my daughter just plays with it without thinking about any of this stuff. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you sell different ones for left-handed/ right-handed? One reviewer mentioned he got a left-handed one.....however I think he might be joking |
Answer: | I have not heard of different ones that are sold but YouTube has videos demonstrating how to restring a Kendama (which generally is set up for right handed people) to a left handed Kendama. The cup must be removable so it can only be done with certain brands. |
Question: | is it fake |
Answer: | no. Real working toy |
Question: | Can you make this into a left handed kendama |
Answer: | Yes, you should be able to switch it from right to left-handed. You will need to take the cross-piece off, untie the knot. Once you've done that, re-insert the string so that it is coming through the handle OPPOSITE the logo. Re-tie the knot, and slip the cross-piece back on. You now have a left-handed Kendama. |
Question: | DO YOU GET 3 OR JUST |
Answer: | Just got one & didn't even get to choose what color. The string broke a few months later too so U should buy those too. |

Kendama is a Japanese wooden toy used since the 1700’s for increasing Hand/Eye Coordination, as well as Reflex and Balance.
*Kendama is a traditional Japanese toy consisting of a ken (sword) and tama (ball) connected by a string. The ken has three cups and a spike which fits into the hole in the ball. Basic kendama tricks consist of catching the ball in the cups and on the spike, however a huge variety of kendama tricks can be performed by juggling the ball between the cups, balancing it in various positions on the ken, balancing the ken on the ball and juggling the kendama.
Kendama bears similarities to the classic cup-and-ball game, and the Hispanic world toy known as boliche or balero. The principle of these toys are the same: catching one object with another, where both are joined by a string. However the modern kendama style takes influences from a diverse range of skills including yo-yo, diabolo, juggling and dance.
