Answer:	No, it does not need batteries. You pull the tail and the music plays until the tail pulls back in. My granddaughter absolutely LOVES this elephant. Her eyes light up and she gets a huge smile on her face as soon as she sees it.

Answer:	The website says it's 300 pounds. My husband at about 200 pounds is fine on it. By the way since I like the stool, I bought another purple stool, after returning two white ones, and the tabs are long enough and fit properly. So it does click in to place. I don't know why the white tabs weren't made longer.

Answer:	Yes, the ducks do float upright,the momma duck holds the babies and floats upright. The only thing is they fill with water, and the plastic is firmer, so you can't squeeze the water out. They quickly become moldy and I had to throw them all away.
