User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use it on a cement bird bath |
Answer: | Not at all. When I realized that there was Velcro I said to myself "heels for dummies" however I found that the shoe fit well with it. My foot fits very comfortably. |
Question: | Can this be used on a grained wood fireplace? Do I have to use a filler first |
Answer: | I would prrobably go up. The size 6 fits my foot exactly with no extra room at the heel. If they were out of 6s, I would have ordered a 7. An 8 will fit snugly, but probably fit with a small bit of heel over the back.. A 9 will fit with a small bit of room. Depends on preference:-) |
Question: | How does this work on exterior metal doors |
Answer: | 4 inch |
Question: | Usable to paint the wood railing in old house without scraping all previous decades of paint? Will it withstand the constant touching |
Answer: | No not waterproof but dies dry well after getting wet. |

Question: | what are the shipping box dimensions per gallon? If I buy 15 gallons, how many boxes of what size will be sent? Purchasing for freight forwarder |
Answer: | Probably not unless you Jerry rig a cross support |
Question: | Does this work on fabric |
Answer: | Try Google 😂 |
Question: | Can I mix it with textile medium |
Answer: | Wedges are the easiest to walk in...my opinion. If you can wear heels already then you are fine. Here is some advice. I usually wear a 7.5-8. So I bought a size8. It barely fits me. I need a 9 for sure. I was desperate and wore them and now they are not returnable. Bummer. |
Question: | Is this paint "red" red? One reviewer states the "red" was very pink. I wouldn't be able to use it if mine weren't like a red you'd use for Christmas |
Answer: | The Velcro is fine. I have never had a problem with it coming undone. |

Question: | Hi I have 27 foot sea ray how much of paint I have to buy if I want to put 2 coats |
Answer: | Drill with bit size of screw you will use to attach to window ledge. All other tools needed are included. |
Question: | Has anyone used this in hot humid climate with water temps near 90 degrees |
Answer: | The design of the bracket is such that the weight of the AC unit is distributed by the supports in a way that makes slippage unlikely. At least, that was my experience with the bracket. My first impression of the bracket was that is would be unstable and flimsy, but I was pleasantly surprised that its appearance was deceiving. It's much more stable than its looks would lead you to believe. |
Question: | Is this overkill for an old fiberglass canoe? People seem to use the Rustoleum marine paint but it's not rated for being in the water |
Answer: | Foam inserts are needed, tape and plastic too |
Question: | Can this be used on fiberglass bathtubs |
Answer: | I installed a window unit with this product in my camper which walls are like an inch and a half thick. I just used 2x4’s to take up the slack |

Better at Blocking Barnacles. Better for the Ecosystem. Better for Your Bottom Line.
TotalBoat JD Select is an affordable water-based ablative antifouling bottom paint that provides superior single-season protection against barnacles and other hard marine growth in salt water or fresh water. Its fast-drying formula is very easy to apply, has no harsh fumes, and is easy to clean up with soap and water.
TotalBoat JD Select: Cost-Effective, Water-Based Antifouling Paint with Full-Season Protection
It's no fun scraping barnacles and other crusty critters off your boat bottom, much less shelling out a lot of clams for someone else to do it. TotalBoat JD Select hybrid water-based ablative antifouling bottom paint contains a medium copper biocide load to prevent barnacles from making your hull their home—for a full season. Its ablative properties are designed to help shed slime, while preventing paint buildup on the surface. JD Select is easy to apply by brush, roller, or spraying. Its unique water-based formula also cleans up easily with soap and water. Better for you, better for the marine environment.
Medium copper content keeps barnacles at bay in low to moderate fouling waters—often with just a single coat.
TotalBoat JD Select has low VOCs and low odor, so it doesn't stink like solvent-based bottom paint. JD Select uses water in place of a solvent, so when the water evaporates, the resin hardens, leaving this antifouling paint as effective as any solvent-based bottom paint with medium copper content. Because of its high-solids content, one coat is usually all you need for full-season protection.
TotalBoat Customers Get Great Results
- "I used it on my 30' c&c Mk1, got a solid 2 coats on, no waste, no shortage. Coverage was amazing, the paint gripped the old paint incredibly well. It ablated about 75% over 1 season & only a thin film of algae grew on the bottom due to no use in the late sailing season, no hairies or hard growth." - Jason via Amazon Reviews
- "I used this last season and it performed well." - Jim via Amazon Reviews
Easy to apply by roller, brush, or spraying.
Apply to properly prepared fiberglass and wood, properly primed steel, and previous paint in good condition.
Dries fast, cleans up easily with soap and water.
It all started simply enough. As boaters, we wanted better stuff for our own boats.
Even our favorite products, the ones we'd come to rely on, had room for improvement. It'd be nice if they could hold up longer, cure faster, coat better, apply easier, and—since we all know boat ownership creates a mini maelstrom in your pocket—cost less. So we took everything we knew from 35 years of customer feedback, combined that with our own boating knowledge, and after a few years of rigorous R&D, TotalBoat was born. Launched, rather. By boaters, for boaters.
Need help? The members of our TotalBoat Tech Team are boat owners who really know their stuff. So whether you're trying to figure out what to buy or the best solution for your particular project, they have years of hands-on training, experience, and a passion to help you succeed.

Question: | Im painting a linen polyester tablecloth with this, it will never be washed for what Im using it for will the paint flake/crack? Could I use textile m |
Answer: | Yes, you can close your window. Mine closes but you must do very good measurement marks, closing window etc. before you drill a hole etc. to secure the bracket. Everything has to be taken into account was my experience. If your sill slants that's what the bracket is for that slides along the outside of the house. You bring that up until the bracket is level... and you know when it's level because there is a level-bubble built right in it. There are adjustment holes on the side of the bracket, and you have to play with those. I have to say, as I wrote before that the outside bracket against the house, I do not trust 100% to not slip because I have a smooth exterior, so I have placed screws right beneath/against it to ensure it doesn't slip. It has done well now... I think this will be my 3rd summer. I keep it up, close my window each fall,, no problem. One thing I had to do because I didn't read the detail as well as I should have is to find out where the center of gravity is with your a/c unit because the bracket does not go directly in the center of the sill. It may go a bit left or right of center depending on your a/c unit's center of gravity. My bracket ended up left of center of sill. But my a/c is centered in my window weight wise. I'd add a pic but not sure how to do that. file:///C:/Users/Frances/Pictures/Camera%20Roll/picture035.jpg see if this works. It's from last year |
Question: | I want paint my suburban black for a day then spray in white letters for my son bday will it stain my vehicle after washing it of |
Answer: | The AC only sits on the support. I suppose you could drill a hole in the support and the AC and screw together but you'd need to be very careful not to damage the AC. I screwed my AC to the window rather than the support. |
Question: | Is the black really black? I've bought from a different company and the black was actually a navy blue |
Answer: | Tony... would it help if I scanned the directions so you can see exactly where and how they mount it? The previous answer by James H was right on. The directions show it screwed into the outside sill. The holes need to be siliconed in after you remove the mount for the winter unless you choose to leave the mount in place over the winter. Sorry to be so late in responding. There are plastic or vinyl leveling blocks included to change the level and there is a small buble level on the unit. |
Question: | Can it be used on a person |
Answer: | If you take the A/C out for the winter, I'd take out the bracket too. If your sill is wooden, it shouldn't strip if you back the screws out carefully. Even if it does, you can hammer a wooden match stick or the like into the hole to give you grip again. If you leave up the A/C for the winter, the bracket will be fine for a number of years, as the painted finish is baked on, unless you live immediate to the coast and get windblown salt. In that case, you're simply going to have to either coat the bracket with petroleum jelly (messy, but effective), or take it down when it does rust, treat it with "rust converter," and repaint it. |
