User questions & answers
Question: | I usually have my air gun pressure set at about 100 psi. I assume that I will only get 30 psi from this gun |
Answer: | I also use this when my compressor is set to 125 psi without a problem. The rubber protective tip will fly off at the higher pressure settings, its not a big problem and only exposes the metal tip. |

WE ARE WELDING
It’s been almost 90 years since Forney Industries was established with James D. Forney began selling his invention of “The Forney Instant Heat Soldering Iron” door-to-door across the heartland. With ingenuity and determination, JD advanced his business. It didn’t take long for farmers and ranchers to realize how useful his inventions were. Eventually the Rural Electric Association granted permission for salesmen to climb utility poles to hook up welders for demonstrations. With the increased exposure to JD’s products, his business began to expand. Soon he would broaden product variety with battery chargers, welding supplies and more. By 1943, Forney Industries had over 1,400 products from 150 outside suppliers.
Today, Forney offers thousands of metalworking products within four categories: welding, abrasives, personal protective equipment and shop tools. JD Forney’s grandson, Steve Anderson, is now the President and CEO of Forney Industries, and is committed his customers success; a legacy his grandfather began all those years ago. One day JD’s great grandson, Dane Anderson, will lead the company and that same legacy will be running four generations strong. Much has changed in 87 years, but the foundation of Forney Industries remains the same. After all, Welding in America isn’t just a slogan, it’s the backbone of this company.

User questions & answers
Question: | This come with the welding wire |
Answer: | I'm sorry it took as long as it did for me to answer you. I have no prior knowledge of this Predator generator and I had to look that up. I also would like to preface what I'm about to say with I am not a generator expert. Also I wanted to be sure that I looked up the specific amperage draws of our different welders. The formula for calculating the answer to your question is pretty straight forward. Generators measure their output in Watts in order to determine what wattage is necessary the formula is as follows... Volts X Amps = Watts. The machine you are asking about runs 7250 continuous Watts but it does not take into account what percentage of fluctuation of output amperage this machine makes, how clean is this machine? How reliable is the output amperage? I have no idea but let's plug the numbers in assuming the machine can maintain a relatively stable output. The model 155 draws max 25.4 amps on 230V in MIG mode or, 5842 watts. It draws 26.7amps on 230V in stick mode or, 6141 watts. So for this small machine it would appear yes all else being ok. Now, for example, our 200 amp MIG draws in MIG mode 35.7 amps at 230 V or, 8211 watts. It draws 41.7 amps in stick mode at 230 V or, 9591 watts. So for our larger inverters, it would appear no, that generator cannot provide sufficient output to run the welders at full potential welding power. |
Question: | What type of .30 tip? Thread pitch? Size |
Answer: | So only going by the pictures this appears to be a Tweco style gun similar to what the older Lincoln’s ran. Unfortunately you will have to find out what the US pro welding gun has for a back end. |
Question: | Is the wire supposed to move really slow even turned all the way up |
Answer: | No, not on the 155 model. 2lb |
Question: | Do you know what the power output is turned all the way down |
Answer: | This question really is more a generic question than it is specific to any brand welder. If you're giving it half the power it can use. Generally, you can figure you're going to get half the result. So prepared properly and possibly a little bevel, 1/8in would be about max Remember voltage is the pressure or pushing force of the amperage or heat. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Which spool gun will work on the 220 mp |
Answer: | $42 does not sound like a likely price. You should look for another offer or buy some at your local hardware store or Harbor Freight. Make sure you have the right one (.030 0r .035 or ?). |
Question: | What type of adapter needed to convert 120v plug side to standard wall plug |
Answer: | The thread size on these tips are M6 x 1.0 |
Question: | Can you use the same gas for mig as you would for tig |
Answer: | Yes, they will. I don't know of a machine that won't use the tweeco style of tip in a mig welder. |
Question: | Hello Dimensions seem wrong. Is welder really 17.3 or 20 inches wide |
Answer: | Hello! Because these contact tips are Tweco compatible, they will work with the Lincoln Magnum 100. Thank you for your question! |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the diameter of the center hole |
Answer: | Yes this is the exact size of the radio shack iron. Now when you say mini I’m thinking there was a larger one? But I’m very familiar with the radio shack iron and this is it. It comes with the pointed fitting I had to buy the other piece separately. Glad I could answer your question. Any others let me know. ✌🏼 |
Question: | can I use this to solder |
Answer: | Theoretically you can hold it just inder the tip but why would you id say the best place to hild it us just under the on off valve and that is about 2.5 inches from the tip. The inly thing to worry about is when lighting it especially if you are using any tip besides the soldering tiplike the torch tip. But other than that make sure you turn it off before you p i t it down and dont touch the tip obviosly for a few minutes |
Question: | can I use this with my 125 amp flux core welder from harbor freight |
Answer: | As an aircraft mechanic, I use this product all over the airplane (can't remove the tanks) just a bit of common sense, don't solder if fuel is leaking, and don't solder on the tank, hope this helps. |
Question: | Will this work with a cheap 90 amp harbor freight |
Answer: | No |
