Answer:	Wrong answers!! But you need a welder capable of using shielding gas, and you'd use 100% argon. Aluminum wire is soft and it wouldn't make it from the machine to the torch handle so you'd want a spool gun (which would cost twice as much as this chintzy welder). So yes you can use a DC welder to weld aluminum, just not this welder. Probably cost you nearer to $1000 to get a capable setup for aluminum.

Answer:	Yes, take out all the front end of the gun. Push the liner all the way through the gun and mount the threaded end into the gun. Once the threaded end is secure in the power pin cut some of the front end off with lineman pliers or something similar. Next, take your diffuser and measure the distance that the liner goes in. You want the liner to mount flush to the bottom of your gas diffuser to minimize any chance of having a feed issue. Once you have the liner cut to the proper length, you can then put the front end back together and you are ready to weld.

Answer:	If you're talking about EVA foam: yes. Just make sure you don't set it too hot. EVA foam begins to melt at around 165 fahrenheit, so set the gun to 200 and wear a respirator. DO NOT WEAR A DUST MASK! If it doesn't have replaceable filters, it's a dust mask, which is for keeping dust and other large particles out of your airway and making smelly jobs more comfortable. It DOES NOT protect against the toxic vapors that will be released when you get EVA foam hot enough to shape or seal it. Set the gun to 200F (assuming you're working with EVA foam), work OUTDOORS and wear a respirator (not a painter's mask/dust mask!). Hotter might be okay but since the gun only goes in increments of 50, you might not want to go above 200. Try it with a scrap piece and see how it goes.

These paints are a health hazard when they give off vapors. Look online to find out the hazards about lead base paints. The EPA has guide lines for contractors to follow that vary from state to state in the USA. Like respirators and white suits along with using drop clothes to contain that type of paint. Different paints will soften at different temperatures. I find around 700 degrees may be a good starting point. If you go too high with the heat you'll burn the wood. Answer:	Hey Ryan, This unit does not have an internal blower wheel, so there are no real CFM’s for the MJ-950, however at the tip it does get to 1400 degrees F on full throttle. Answer:	Not a good idea for several reasons, I'll only pick one: Car door handles contain plastic, as do the locking mechanisms. You would be better served to use a lock deicer rather than a heat gun. This unit gets hot enough to remove the paint from your car, so you'd surely melt the lock and handle into so much useless gunk.

Answer:	There is no information as to setting the air temperature, and no clue as to how hot the air stream really is. 1) BE CAREFUL or you will melt your project. 2) Maybe use an oven thermometer to check air temperature BUT temp can be up to 600 degrees so BE CAREFUL!!!

Answer:	Using heat to remove paint works well only on some kinds of paint, typically oil-based paints used 40+ years ago. It also produces fumes, can cause burns, and has even led to house fires if done improperly. If you google "tool test lead safe paint removal" you'll find a PDF where an IPR heater (used specifically to heat paint over a wider area than a heat gun) was compared with the Paint Shaver Pro, Metabo LF 724, and a rotary sander. Near the end he says the heater excels on thick oil paint, and I've noticed most of the positive reviews of IPR devices say they were scraping hundred year old houses, so I think that's the key. Google "paintstripping.pdf" to find another group that compares the Silent Paint Remover to the Paint Shaver Pro and to simple manual scraping without assistance. They also found inconsistent performance with IPR removal, finding it worked well on some 100 year old paint while in other test areas it would leave a lot of residue. Overall, they found the Paint Shaver Pro to be the fastest paint removal method at an average 2.83min per square foot which includes setting nails and sanding smooth after shaving. This is vs 4.81min for manual scraping, 3.06min for IPR, and only Paint Shaver removed all the paint. I personally tried an IPR heater on "marine grade" paint applied in 1985 and found it slow going, easy to burn yourself, and the fumes it produced smelled toxic. Paint shaver pro was far better in every way though very expensive unless you buy used.

Answer:	It stays on it's very well, I was surprised. That's how I set down between putting heat shrink on wires. It also comes with a curved nozzle attachment that helps direct the heat around a pipe. I used it to bend a 1 inch pvc water pipe. (Though, I would imagine, you might wanna bend the attachment into a sharper curve for PC cooling pipes.)
Question:	Would this melt soft plastic for bait making
Answer:	If you mean to use it for heat shrink tubing, yes. It's not designed for soldering of course, and it does run on two heat settings. The high setting is 1500 watts as I recall (12.5 amps) and the coil glow orange. However there is a thermal protection (reed type switch) that breaks the curcuit after about 90 seconds when it's on high (without any attachments) If you need to sustain a high setting I recommend the Wagner because it will run on high as long as it is on until the plastic case melts. It also has a tendency to melt things touching the nozzle, especially the cord when accidently thinking it's cool enough to set it down somewhere. Low settings 750 watts, no problems. 200 degrees at 1 inch. High is about 390 to 425
Question:	The description says it has high air flow. Is it good for tiny surface mount electronics or would it blow the components away
Answer:	Shrinking packaging wrapEnclose and seal the product in the shrink wrap and then poke a small hole in the wrap to allowtrapped air to escape. Move the heat gun back and forth across the package until the shrink wrap hasevenly shrunk.

Answer:	I checked my heat gun which is like this one I bought it in 2013 and it goes to 1100 degrees. I can not say that they have not changed them since then, I just know what mine says on the display and it does not take it very long to reach the 1100 degree mark.

Answer:	1800 watt microwave works perfect for charging two batteries at a time @60 seconds. If you want to charge one at a time you have to drill a 3/32 port hole in the bottom of the single battery. Now put your choice of lithium grease to help lubricate your lipo battery and maximize life during the 30 second rapid charge cycles. When the internal temperature of the heat gun is too high,the heat gun will start the overheat protection mode, automatically stopping the heating and restarting the heating when temperature returns normal.

The heating coil will glow, and may emit some smoke, this is because the new coil has a thin coating of antirust, and smoke will dissipate quickly. After using several times, the front tube will become darker, which is normal due to the high cycles.

Bending Pipes

Using the heat gun you can bend a piece of PVC pipe at just about any angle without using any adhesives or elbow joints. Not only convenient but also dramatically speeds up the job.

Removing Rusted Bolts

Heat the nut with a heat gun if it won't come off. This causes the steel to expand, which can break the rust seal. Apply heat for about a minute, then allow the nut to cool.

Floor Tile Replacement

You can use the heat gun to remove glued floor tiles, just apply heat to the tiles to soften the glue underneath. Then pry the tile to produce a gap. Be sure to move the heat gun back and forth to prevent localized overheating.

Shrink Packaging Film
