Answer:	No, you cannot carry it on your shoulders, so it is a little awkward to carry. The handles are about 12" long but because of the width of the bag it's impossible to fit under your shoulders. I still love this bag however. I use it when I go out on our boat. I can fit about 8 beach towels in it, toys, make up bag, snacks, etc. It makes the bag heavy but at least it's all contained in one place.
