Answer:	The display cord is spiraled like telephone cords, so it stretches. Without stretching it's a little over 2 ft. 4 AA's. Roughly 12x15in. platform. Don't buy it if you need something accurate at all. It's really hard to read the buttons. The manual is in Chenglish. It was accurate to about 4 oz. So, it's not good for shipping or weighing pets. I got a Zieis scale instead. Smaller platform, but accurate to 1/10 oz.
Question:	Is this safe fire proof
Answer:	I'd think it might be difficult. While the platform is a little larger than a regular bathroom scale, what I think of as an extra large dog (Newfoundland? etc.) might hang off the edges by a fair amount.
