Answer:	It will grow mold if there's mold, but if you want to know what kind of mold, you have to send it away. For example, when I followed the directions and placed mine out in open, a little bit of mold started growing. We then knew there were mold spores in the area and it was slow growing mold, based of length of time and amount of mold present in petrie dish. If you want to know if it's the dangerous kind, etc., then you would have to send away. Hope that helps.

Answer:	Yes! I did 5 kits (outdoors, two bathrooms, garage, under the kitchen sink). Two of the tests (the well-ventilated bathroom and the kitchen sink) had no mold after 96 hours. The other three had mold of different amounts/types.

The only way to be 100% sure results are accurate is to send the same set of samples to multiple labs and compare. With any test there are many variables that can alter the outcome such as : collection methods, human error, and etc. This makes it difficult to be 100% sure about any test even if it comes from an accredited lab. After working in a commercial accredited lab I am confidant that our results are as accurate or more accurate than theirs.

Answer:	I just listened to a talk by a functional health-care worker who treats mold related illnesses, Evan Brand. Says he's had hundreds of patients do "plate" tests to test household air that he believes are reliable. (I guess some say plates are not reliable.) These are petri dishes you put out to collect airborne molds. His website sells the ImmunoLytics Mold Test Kits. I found them available on Amazon, and directly from the manufacturer too. Unfortunately there are no reviews and they're pricy ($35/1 plate, around $95/3). This includes analysis. I'm on the fence about these due to the price (and possible effectiveness). Here's the rub... ImmunoLytics appears to do the same thing as the spot tests sold here does, just in a different collection medium. They sell the petri dishes for $3, so the cost is in the analysis. Why it it less than half the cost for the tests here, versus an air sample? The price seems excessive compared to these test strips.

Question:	Does it detect airborns spores
Answer:	Follow the instructions. Don’t expose the samples to the sun or light. The first result will show in 24 hours. The bacteria and spores grow in cold places. If you expose the samples to the light the test will fail. We got several spores results. I am glad I used this kit test because after I tested I bought a chemical to rid off of those type spores. We are no longer coughing. You don’t need to send to a lab to find what kind the spores you get. I don’t know what you have. I have a microscope in home. But also there are several websites about types of spores. The whole test takes 5 days as far I remember.

Answer:	It certainly can if the conditions are conducive to its growth. Different types of mold thrive in various conditions. Some types of mold grow in high moisture, some low; some like cellulose, some prefer decaying material, etc.

Answer:	Yes there are swab and tape. Usually swab use for wet surface and for dry you can use the tape. For the Carpet if you suspect mold growth and you see dark colors you can use the tape , if you use the swab make sure you rub the sample back and forth to pick up things. The sample does not need to germinate because it is surface and not culture. There is no Petri dish.

Answer:	The results of the test will identify all types of mold found and the relative quantities of mold present. The answer is provided in a rating system of "No mold detected", "Minor", "Moderate", and "Heavy". "No mold detected" = the substance on the sample you submitted did not contain a detectable level of mold. "Minor" amounts of mold can be found in typical dust samples because mold spores are a normal part of our air make up. "Heavy" amounts tend to come directly from the source of the mold. For example, you saw mold growing on a piece of fruit, sent in a sample, the lab would report a "heavy" rating.
