I don't think heat is an issue, but the tape we used (outdoor recommended) didn't stick very well. If I could have returned this product, I would have. I would have replaced it with a product that is dimmable. Another issue is flexibility. We're living with it, but we don't love it. Like I said in the review: It would light a landing strip.

Answer:	When I bought it it was described as waterproof, and all tube lights are practically . I have above ground and I was able to connect it with zip ties every 3 ft, not visible on the outside or inside the pool. But that’s been my challenge to figure out connecting all throughout not every 3 ft bc it does hang. I may have a solution for mine but I’m not sure how you will be able to do it for inground pool. If you can do it above water it should not be a problem it has a really night bright glow!

Answer:	I have two of these flashlights and have not any issues with either charging or the port. I carry a flashlight for work, I have lost the charging port cover,,,its rather cheesy and not secured well. I regularly clean the port to keep it free of debris. The cover is the only issue I've had , plenty of light and the magnetic base is a huge plus. I would strongly recommend this flashlight. Enjoy.
