In the spirit of too much information: The splice technique I used was to get a submersible splice kit (available on Amazon or Lowe's). It comes with the splices and a special heat shrink tube that has a rubberized coating that oozes out when it is shrunk over the splices. I also covered the splice with 3M type 33 black tape as an added insurance policy. This tape is putty-like and bonds to itself when wrapped. I also used the 3M tape to cover all of the barbed fitting/hose clamp plumbing joints and the cast housing of the pump. The pump has been in for several months and works like a champ. You will not be disappointed with the quality and performance of this pump. |

| Answer: | 3.08 amps at 120 volts. Rating says .37 KW's (that's 370 watts). 370 watts divided by 120 volts equals 3.08 amps. I'm sure there's a momentary inrush of current to get it running (usually 3-5 times the rated run amperage) So for a split second it may draw as much as 16 amps (but most breakers won't trip for a split second start up also called locked rotor amperage). Nor will the wire heat up if it's only for a split second (say using a 15 amp circuit). I am an electrical engineer so I do this calculation daily in my work. |

| Answer: | Yes, mine is running on 115. You have to remove the back cover on the end of the motor. on mine there was a selector switch that you turn to either 230 or 115. The owners manual will give good description on how to do this. We found that the wires connected to the selector switch were not tightly secured to the switch , once we tightened them everything worked fine. |

Tuhorse does not include a long drop wire because the wire gauge must be selected according to the total length in compliance with National Electric Code(NEC). To size a proper wire, Google "Tuhorse drop wire chart" to find out what minimum wire gauge is required. If a pump comes with extension wire, be sure to verify the wire gauge before making your buying decision because most oversea manufacturers don't know about NEC requirement. |
