Question:	How long is the electric cord and what size hose pipe can you use
Answer:	I have city water too. The foam filters are really the debris catchers- I have a Golden Retriever who plays a lot outside and any dirt or fur (she sheds a lot) is caught n the foam instead of blocking the pump. The carbon filters I guess could be eliminated given your water supply. I change the fountain about every two -three days and the carbon filter may eliminate things I can't see. Obviously fresh water is the goal. hope that helps

The Important of Subsurface Aeration

The aeration of ponds and lakes is a vital factor regarding the health of your feature. Dissolved oxygen is imperative for a healthy feature and to prevent pond and lake turnovers and fish kills. Secondly, all ponds or lakes deeper than 6-7 feet will have a thermocline - a separation of cooler water on the bottom level below the thermocline containing poor oxygen levels, high in methane, hydrogen sulfide and other toxic gases; and the top layer which is warmer and contains most of the oxygen. Bottom aeration breaks this thermocline up to mix the water together providing oxygen to all the water by breaking the thermocline and diffusing the toxic gases to the surface for evaporation through osmosis. Bottom aeration should be started slowly at an hour a day and steadily increasing an hour a day during daylight hours until the pond aerator is on 24 hours to prevent instant turnover and mixing of toxic gases. Pond or lake turnover happens naturally and will happen eventually in every pond - it is just a matter of time, not if, but when. Fish kills during a lake or pond turnover can happen overnight. Therefore, bottom aeration is so very important.

Large ponds and lakes naturally aerate through plant photosynthesis and atmospheric mixing like wind and rain. The problem is that most ponds and lakes do not absorb or receive enough oxygen compared to how much is being used and this harms the aquatic system. All life in the ponds or lakes needs oxygen to be healthy and prevent pond or lake turnover: the disruption of thermocline - the separation of upper levels of water and lower levels which then mixes toxic gases, nutrients like phosphorous and nitrogen, into the oxygen rich surface water, and suffocating the wildlife within 24 hours or so.

The bottom aeration can work up to 40 feet or so without adding to much pressure back on the motor - psi. Bottom aeration should be used in conjunction with beneficial bacteria except in the case of an ongoing fish kill. Beneficial bacteria can be added once the pond or lake has adequate oxygen supplied for several weeks. Aeration decreases the chances of lake turnover and promotes healthier fish Aeration makes a healthier pond and keeps a hole open in the ice for gases to escape in winter as well as allowing water fowl and other animals to drink depending on placement of diffuser.

Answer:	I do not know what this thing is made of, but I can tell you that it has a very strong chemical smell. I noticed it as soon as I opened the box. I tried washing it in warm water and dish soap but it did not seem to make a difference. I think it may be made of some type of plastic or resin. It is made in China. It is very difficult to find the label that says it is made in China. I do not trust any products made for pets that are made in China. The fountain is very nice to look at but I sent mine back without ever using it because of the smell. I would never use something that smelled like a chemical to hold my dogs water for daily use. I did write a review on Amazon and after reading some of the negative reviews I found other people who had the same experience. I wanted a flowing fountain so I ended up buying the Hagen Dogit Design Fresh and Clear Dog Drinking Fountain, Value Bundle. I have been using it for about 1 month now and I am quiet happy with it.

Answer:	Is a pretty small opening. The water constantly bubbles though so he could probably get his paws wet by tapping on white part where the water comes out. It comes up through a small tube. Honestly, though, I'd stay away from this one. I had a hard time keeping it clean. This was the outside waterer and I had to really scrub it every week to get the slime and mold out. There are better ones out there. I have a blue and white one from doggit I use inside that's much easier to keep clean. The one advantage to the one pictured is its fairly heavy and hard to tip over.

Answer:	Ours leaked too, and we had to buy a new fountain. In addition, it damaged our baseboards and some of our laminate flooring in the adjacent room. We have had 4 of these over the years. The first one lasted 2 years. the second one lasted just over 3 years, and the third one lasted just under 3 years. We just got the 4th one 6 months ago. Typically the hoses have come detached from the top and would fall in, so the water wouldn't come out. The most recent one, the bottom cracked and leaked. Since the last one damaged my house, I bought a boot tray to catch water in case it leaks. Answer:	A quick Google search of "Superior Pump 91250" yields the manufacturers specs. I do not see PSI listed but "Pumps will lift water up to 25' of vertical height" I belive answers your question...there is a chart on the "Performance" tab that shows 30 GPM at 0' lift and 2 GPM at 25' lift...with flow rates every 5' listed.http://superiorpump.com/products/utility/91250.html
Question:	Does it have an automatic shut off
Answer:	The pump does not have an automatic shut off. I added a float switch because I wanted it to pump out a sink that had a slow-running clogged drain where I had the washing machine. When the sink was mostly pumped out the float switch turned off the pump. It worked great for a couple years until I got around to dealing with snaking the drain which didn't have an easy clean-out. This is a good pump, since the sink drain got taken care of, we've been using the pump to pump koi pond water over a 5' fence to our neighbor's garden using about 150' of garden hose. The pump runs continuously for 5+ hours without issues in this process.
Question:	Will clothes washer hoses fit on this pump
Answer:	The pump itself fits a garden hose nicely. You can buy the attachment package listed next to it for the converter piece. It only came to around $8.00. It also comes with a larger hose. I didn't need it for my spa but if you need to empty a washer or bigger pool it seems like it would come in handy. Hope that helps. Good luck. :-)
Question:	Can this be user to flush a tankless heater with vinigar
Answer:	I bought the pump for this very reason. I'm not sure if it is rated to handle vinegar, but at the price I figured I'd try it and see. I have two tankless water heaters, and I wanted a pump that could clean out both at the same time and this pump certainly does the job. I have a hose that runs from the pump, into a splitter. From the splitter I have two hoses going to each water heater (one hose per water heater). Even pushing water through two hoses, it still has a strong flow, with each hose pushing about the same flow as the water hose faucet outside your house opened wide open (guestimate). The splitter I have allows me to adjust the flow rate by closing off some valves if it is too strong. For just one water heater, i would think this pump is too strong (as it REALLY moves water), but I'm not a plumber so I couldn't say for sure. If I were to do it again, I think I would have purchased the 1/4 HP pump, or even the 1/5HP for cleaning out water heaters with vinegar. I cleaned out my water heater this week for the first time using this pump. I let it run for 2 hrs, and I noticed that it got warm (about the temp of a warm-to-hot bath). I'm not sure if that is normal, but thought I'd let you know.

Answer:	It’s not really strong smelling, but it’s flammable.It should only be used in a parts washer designed for a a flammable solvent.
Question:	how cold of solutions can the pump operate at
Answer:	It shouldn’t be used in a cheep parts washer that requires a water based solvent as it is very flammable.
Question:	Can this be used in a parts washer using diesel for the cleaner
Answer:	we are using st right no dilution and it took 15 gallons to fill our tank

Question:	I'm wanting to use this with a garden hose, do I need to allow the water to flow , without interruption
Answer:	That's a good question, I would go off the tag on the side of the pump if can be seen. There is a bog difference between 0.8 and 1.4. I do not have a pump here to look at, sorry Allen in Buffalo.
Question:	What is the hottest temp water is this pump rated for
Answer:	Dear customer, the electric cord length is 25ft, it can fit these hose pipes: 1",G1",1-1/4",G1-1/2"(From Up to Down).
Question:	Will this work to pump out water from a 20ft. above ground pool
Answer:	Not sure but it removes about a foot per hour in my standard built in pool
Question:	Can I use this to drain water off my pool cover all winter
Answer:	The diameter of pipe can be 1", G1", 1-1/4", G1-1/2" (From Up to Down). You can select one size based on your preference.
Question:	What level does the water have to be before the switch activates the pump
Answer:	I can't figure out how to copy pictures into this section. And the instructions aren't that good - the english used has incorrect grammar so take that into consideration as well. So I'll type what I think you may need to know. Before using the pump again, first "soak" it so that any possible dirt residues do not block the appliance. Submerge pump at an angle into the liquid so that no air pocket forms on the underside of the appliance. Suction would be prevented by this. Once the pump is submerged, it can be righted again. It also says that we should be using a rope to lower it into the water and not using the main cable..... Minor faults are often sufficient to cause a malfunction.... Pump does not run ----check cables, plug, socket and fuse. Motor defective? contact service partner. Automatic power-off low water level float - manual vertical float motor normal power, start the pump without water, will damage the water pump, manual vertical float when use must be care (I typed this as manual listed it, bad/incorrect grammar, makes no sense) Cleaning the suction area - clean all accessible insides of the casing. Remove fibers which have wound around the rotor shaft by opening the pressure connection. Remove stubborn contamination with a brush and detergent. It also says to if you unable to correct a fault yourself, please contact our technical support directly. BUT there is no number listed anywhere in the 8 page manual. Sorry! This is all the manual says. Not a good manual...
Question:	The electrical cord is not pictured. Is it one piece and where does it attach to housing
Answer:	I have always put the white foam ones behind them. I order replacements for those also and switch them out every other filter but clean them when I clean the fountain.
Question:	where can I find the hose this thing needs? I can't use it as it's not a standard hose
Answer:	Yes you need both. They go two different places. If you get the smaller dogit fountain then you only need foam filters.
Question:	Is this unit for use in salt water
Answer:	You don't need the Replacement Filter if you're not using tap water. (Plus it's not a great filter when comparing to Brita, Pur, or the best Zero Water filter) We use our already filtered water (Aquasana sink filter) or bottled water (Smart Water, Fiji, Icelandic) so we only use the foam. Plus, which "foam" are you talking about? Question:	What's the required minimum level of water
Answer:	We replace ours about every two weeks or so. We have a Newfoundland and she is a messy girl. Lots of slobber.
