Answer:	I don't know, I only use it to pump water and vinegar to de-scale my tank-less water heater.

Answer:	I used the pump for pumping an acid solution through a tankless water heater and it worked well. Since the impeller and pump housing is all plastic, I believe it would work equally well for saltwater.

Answer:	I don't think so. We used it to clean our tankless hot water heater and ran it for a couple of hours. It did not shut off. It constantly ran the water/vinegar through the tank.

Answer:	The large part sits in the water to uptake the water and pump it thru the tube. It would have to sit outide of the water ahd submerge the tube into the water and it would probably work..I am not sure if the pump is constructed to do this without over heating. Answer:	The insert in the box says that the max rate is 50 gph. It doesn’t provide a minimum. However, there is a lever on the side of the pump to control the flow of water. With the lever completely open, the pump does a really nice job of moving water through my little tabletop fountain.

Answer:	It depends on how high your fountain is. It appears to me that it would. I made a bird watering fountain and this pump is perfect for the trickle of water I was looking for. It is maxed out at almost 2 feet in height (pump is rated up to 2.2 feet). These pumps are adjustable. You might consider the 92 gph pump and dial it back if you are unsure.

Answer:	If you are concerned about the water pressure blowing off the hose you can use a hose clamp, available at Amazon or any auto parts store and most big box stores, to secure the hose. If you are concerned about the adapter blowing out of the pump, and if you know you won't ever need to replace it, you can secure it to the pump with some super glue. Put the adapter in the pump, make sure it's the right size for the hose, then spread a little super glue around the joint. It will seep in and you will never get the adapter out again.

Answer:	I can't figure out how to copy pictures into this section. And the instructions aren't that good - the english used has incorrect grammar so take that into consideration as well. So I'll type what I think you may need to know. Before using the pump again, first "soak" it so that any possible dirt residues do not block the appliance. Submerge pump at an angle into the liquid so that no air pocket forms on the underside of the appliance. Suction would be prevented by this. Once the pump is submerged, it can be righted again. It also says that we should be using a rope to lower it into the water and not using the main cable..... Minor faults are often sufficient to cause a malfunction.... Pump does not run ----check cables, plug, socket and fuse. Motor defective? contact service partner. Automatic power-off low water level float - manual vertical float motor normal power, start the pump without water, will damage the water pump, manual vertical float when use must be care (I typed this as manual listed it, bad/incorrect grammar, makes no sense) Cleaning the suction area - clean all accessible insides of the casing. Remove fibers which have wound around the rotor shaft by opening the pressure connection. Remove stubborn contamination with a brush and detergent. It also says to if you unable to correct a fault yourself, please contact our technical support directly. BUT there is no number listed anywhere in the 8 page manual. Sorry! This is all the manual says. Not a good manual...

Answer:	The pump that I received had no tubing.. just the connector that comes out of the pump, that the tubing slides over. Lowe's had the tubing for a few more dollars.

Answer:	Just got this for Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow fountain; pump came installed w/a 1/2"(outside diameter) nozzle which you can slowly twist out & replace it w/the 1/4" nozzle (it is placed loose in pump box along w/no instructions for its purpose...you can see it in some of the pictures for this item). If I had not read a review here I would've not know this & would've thought pump wouldn't work w/my cat fountain.

Answer:	The float ball can be removed with an open-faced wrench, but I'm not sure it can be replaced with any generic float switch.
Question:	Does the cord have a plug or open wires
Answer:	The pump & on/off float will fit, but the float might hit the sidewall stopping it from rising & turning the sump on and/or bind dropping not turning it off. The float does not have to be fasten to the sump. If your well is deep enough & the float fastened above it will work. Upper/lower water levels will be higher.

Question:	Is this a better option than the 506158 or
Answer:	It depends on your application. All three are very similar in performance with the exception of dimension size. The 506158 and 506162 are identical in size whereas the 506160 is different. I use mine inside a PVC sump to discharge rainwater in my backyard. I particularly like the low off level. I was not particularly concerned about the discharge rate. My only gripe is that after about one month of usage I noticed significant rusting around the bolts and case. The 506162 features stainless steel screws, bolts and handle. So this one may be an improvement but only has a 1 year warranty while the other two have two year warranties. So far my pump has worked flawlessly. It is also relatively quiet.
Question:	I have a model 6-cim-r part number 506913 that went bad in my septic tank is this a suitable replacement for it thank you. i can't find the one i have
Answer:	I have no experience with the Little Giant 506160 6-CIA-ML in a septic tank. I employed this model in a sump pit to expel rain water out of my back yard, and it performed wonderfully. Used in a septic tank the issue of solid debris might prove to be an issue, but you might try it and see what transpires.
Question:	My Sump Pump only switches on a couple of times a year. Would the be okay sitting idle for most of the time and still being reliable
Answer:	This is the best sump pump we ever bought. Works quiet, and does the job. Ours runs often in the spring time. I don't see why it would not work sitting idle for a time, as long as it remains plugged in.
Question:	Can I use this as a backup to my french drain? Downpours cause the stairwell (8ft down) to fill with water and it enters my livingroom
Answer:	No, the pump will turn on when the water lever reaches around 7" - 8" and then shut off when it lowers to around 2". Keep in mind that this automatic is pre-set at the factory and you cannot adjust it. I use this pump in a low area in my backyard that floods during heavy rains. Mine sits in a square sump basin in which two 4" PVC pipes acts as a French drain and water flows into it. Just make sure you also have a fairly good filtration system as the pump is not designed for pumping mud. Assuming your pump has the capacity that exceeds the water overflow, if you do not have a 'check valve' installed water being pumped out will flow back into your livingroom as soon as the pump stops, defeating the purpose of the pump.
