Answer:	Sorry to say but yes a hole or sump pit is necessary. The motor needs to be under water if it runs very long in order to have the motor cooled. Also the pump will only pump the water level down to about 3 or 4 inches before it sucks air or the float switch turns off. I dont know of any pumps that will do what you want it to do without a sump hole. I have a 50 gallon plastic drum buried in the floor of my basement to act as a sump. You should only need like maybe a 5 gallon bucket buried in your floor if the water just seeps in gradually. If the incoming water comes in in gushes or like a river you might want something bigger.

Answer:	The 267-0002 does not, but they do have some models that have a float switch included. Or you can just order your own switch.

Answer:	Did you position the pump correctly? Sounds like the switch that turns the pump on automatically maybe binding against something and can't float freely.

Zoeller's Model M53 Mighty-Mate Cast Iron Submersible Sump/Effluent Pump features an engineered thermoplastic base, an engineered, glass filled, plastic impeller with metal insert, and a stainless steel guard and handle. The pump's switch case, motor housing, and pump housing are all made of cast iron. It also The Zoeller's Model M53 has a corrosion resistant powder coated epoxy finish. There are no sheet metal parts that will rust or corrode and no screens that will clog. The motor is oil-filled and hermetically sealed. It features automatic reset thermal overload protection. The pump features a solid, buoyant polypropylene float. It also includes a watertight neoprene square ring between the motor and the pump housing. The pump's upper and lower bearings are oil fed cast iron. The maximum temperature for effluent or dewatering is 130 Degree Fahrenheit. The entire unit is pressure tested after assembly. It is also watertight and dust tight. The pumps screws, switch arm, guard, and handle are all made of stainless steel. The Mighty-Mate also features a carbon and ceramic shaft seal. Question:	The bottom plastic base of my pump broke is it possible to buy a replacement base
Answer:	The float is very adjustable. There is a cord clamp that holds the cord for the float and the direction. By adjusting the length of cord past the clamp the float can be adjusted just about anywhere.
Question:	How many HP is the pump
Answer:	I use it for a sewage lift station. It seems to have a chopping action. I just replaced my pump (which had shorted out) that lasted 13 years with an identical one (LE51A....LE50). In the 13 years that I had it, the pump worked flawlessly with no plugging.
Question:	is this pump suitable for pumping sewage from basement bathroom
Answer:	Just did some maintenance on my septic tank and checked on my LE51A effluent pump. The pump has a 2009 date on the label and has been cycling 6 to 12 times per day since it was installed. It'll probably go out tomorrow; it's already lasted longer than I would have expected.
Question:	Can you confirm that the cord is 25 feet ? I bought a M53, but the cord was too short. Thanks in advance
Answer:	Yes, you can get this with 25ft cord. If you go to liberty's website you can find out more. It's basically this model number with the addition of '2' for the 25 ft cord.
