Question:	Is this one repairable? Our pressure regulator fails every 3 years. The plumber says it's because our water is acidic and it eats them up
Answer:	It is repairable with a kit but would be cost effective to replace rather than repair which is how most everything is now a days.
Question:	What's pressure setting range from? is a lead free
Answer:	Lead Free* contains a weighted average lead content less than 0.25% for wetted surfaces , setting range: where the desired pressure reduction is more than a 4 to 1 ratio (i.e. 200psi to 50psi), multiple regulators in series should be installed. Minimum pressure in: 80psi
Question:	can it use in the hot water systems
Answer:	This should be used on the water coming into your house to reduce the pressure from the city to something that your house and its fixtures can handle. The city supply is >100psi, and you want to reduce that to around 60psi so you don't damage your pipes/fixtures. Mine is right before my gas water heater.
Question:	Is this valve a double union
Answer:	I just received mine, Nov 1, 2017. It has a union on each end. The inlet at the body is also threaded, so you can use both unions or one union or neither. I replaced a Wilkins model 70 which had worked well for 30 years. The Wilkins 70 had a union at the inlet and the discharge pipe threaded right into the Wilkins. This regulator is the same size as the Wilkins model 70 but about an inch longer if you install both unions. Since my piping has some slack, I installed both unions, but I could have used one union and screwed the discharge onto my exiting piping to make it the same length as the Wilkins. My water hammer and pressure surges are now gone. I looked at rebuilding the Wilkins, which isn't difficult and restores it to new condition, but a rebuild kit costs more than a new regulator. Moving production to China undoubtedly increased profits for the manufacturer since they no longer pay taxes, but the move tripled the price of rebuild kits so now it's cheaper to replace tan rebuild.

Answer:	Yes, 600 model valve is discontinued by 600XL, as a new model, dimensions are just the same, if you have an e-mail I can send both specs.
Question:	Can this be mounted in any position
Answer:	We mount ours vertical or horizontal (bell housing for spring on top). Always follow water flow direction.
Question:	What's the set pin made from? I'd like to install mine in a box out at the by the meter so corrosion is a concern
Answer:	If by "set pin" you mean the bolt used to set the pressure then yes corrosion is a concern. The bolt & nut are made of steel. If kept dry they are no problem. In a box corrosion is much more likely. You have two options: 1. grease it up real well or 2. go to a boat store and get a brass or stainless steel bolt & nut.
Question:	It is included union nuts and gasket
Answer:	Mine did not. So, if some people are receiving unions, shouldn't everyone else if everyone is paying the same price? Where do I find a union for this?

Question:	Which adapter do I use for the shower arm water pressure
Answer:	It’s the black adapter with the ridged edge and the only one with threads in the inside. Screw that on your shower arm and the pressure gauge screws over the outer threads.
Question:	Can this be used to measure the peak water pressure or does it only tell you the current pressure
Answer:	There is no flow through, it essentially a cap/plug for a water discharge port, that has a gauge on it to read the pressure. I did noticed that it worked best if I changed the pressure on the line to, disconnect the gauge and reconnect. Could have just been me as well.

Answer:	The range on this pressure reducing valve is 25-75 PSI with 300 PSI maximum pressure as you turn the adjustment screw down(clock wise) you will see the change pretty rapidly since the amount of threads are not that many, the key is to have a pressure gauge visible so you can watch the PSI go up & down, what you do is add tendon on a coil spring internal!

Answer:	No. The oil is in a closed system around the dial. I have never had any oil leakage. This is a fantastic regulator. Love it

Answer:	On top of the black portion, there is a single slot for a screw driver. Also, a pair of arrows indicating the direction to turn the screw to either increase or decrease the pressure through the regulator. I have found that it works well even though it hasn't been put through a season of use. I am using it in my greenhouse to modify the water pressure in the expandable hose used there. I have a constant pressure pump on my well set at 75 psi and have burst many expandable hoses.
Question:	Hooking this up to my low pressure system in my garden. Will this last for constant use
Answer:	My wife and I bought a couple of acres in Louisiana 5 years ago and set up a Travel Trailer to live in full time. We bought this regulator early in 2017 to bring the pressure down from 86 psi to 48 psi. you wouldn't believe the difference it makes. About every 6 months I've disconnected it to hook up to a test meter to see if anything has changed. It's right where I set it over two years ago. This is one fine piece of craftmanship.

Connect the female fitting on the adjustable water regulator directly to your water source's hose bib

Connect the female fitting on the water hose to the male fitting on the adjustable water regulator.

Turn on the water supply in order to flush the water regulator and hose for one minute. Turn off the water supply.

Connect the hose to your RV's water inlet, then turn on the water supply.

Turn on all RV fixtures to allow any air to be flushed out of the RV plumbing - this includes turning on showers, faucets, and flushing toilets.

Adjust the regulator screw (found at the top of the cap on the regulator) until it is set to the desired pressure reading. Ensure that all RV fixtures have been turned off while making adjustments to the regulator screw until you reach the desired pressure reading.

Answer:	Have run a small campground for 50+ years. This type of regulator is highly susceptible to tiny sand or debris in the water lines. A fine screen filter helps but only minimally. Have flushed these in every which way trying to clean - not much luck. If any consolation, junk brass can bring up to $3.00 lb!!
Question:	What size are the fittings? 1/2" or
Answer:	Neither, they are the same size that will fit any outside faucet or garden hose. According the American National Standards Institute, garden hose thread--GHT--has an outside diameter of 1.0625 inches with 11.5 threads per inch.
Question:	I live in an apartment and the pressure is often low when they're watering the lawns. What is minimum input pressure for 40 lb regulated output
Answer:	Regulating your water won't help. You'd have to take that up with management about the sprinklers. The issue may be that they're using 1" or larger pvc pipe for the sprinklers which means there's a pressure drop because there's not enough water flow to support it. they could contact the water company to adjust the pressure regulator for the main water line which should support the demand for the sprinklers.
Question:	Can this be used on a standard yard waterhose? Can the pressure be adjusted to a low and/or off level
Answer:	Yes, standard water hose. No, pressure cannot be adjusted. You can add a shutoff valve before the pressure valve if you want to adjust the volume flow.

Answer:	The picture is correct. Only one union on the inlet side. It is a direct replacement of the old regulator that I replaced. Only used the male side of the union and use the existing female side.

Pressure Reducing Valves

Pressure Reducing Valves are designed to reduce incoming water or steam pressure to a safer constant predetermined downstream level. Depending on the type of valve, the downstream pressure is established by a pressure adjustment setting on the valve or by an external sensor.

Installed directly after the water meter in homes a water pressure reducing valve automatically reduces the pressure from the water supply main to a lower, more sensible pressure.

There are two types of water pressure reducing valves-- direct acting and pilot operated-- which use globe or angle style bodies.

Direct acting valves are the more popular water pressure reducing valves, consisting of globe-type bodies with a spring-loaded, heat-resistant diaphragm connected to the outlet of the valve that acts upon a spring. This spring holds a pre-set tension on the valve seat installed with a pressure equalizing mechanism for precise water pressure control.

Water Savings

Twice as much water flows through a system at 150psi pressure than at 50psi. Much of this additional water is wasted and not needed for normal usage.

Energy Savings

Answer:	check and make sure your incoming pressure is not higher than the pumps high shutoff psi. If so it will not turn on.
Question:	My cabin is strictly gravity flow from a 2000 gal holding tank about 150' above me. Can I use this to boost the pressure a bit
Answer:	Yes. It'll probably boost pressure to about 75 PSI. But 150' head already gives you 73 psi so it may not be worth it unless you're losing a lot of pressure from flow loss in the pipes. In that case bigger pipes would be a better solution.

Answer:	This BurCam water pump can be used with a holding tank to boost your city water pressure. When used as a booster, the incoming water pressure needs to be 20 PSI or less. If it is greater than 20 PSI, a pressure reducer will be required. This pump is designed to maintain a constant pressure and will automatically shut off once the line pressure reaches 60 PSI. The pump will pull 1,725 Watts at start up and 828 Watts while running.
