12 best titan electric water heaters

Titan electric water heaters are known for their compact and efficient design, providing on-demand hot water in a variety of residential and commercial settings. Here are some key features and information about Titan electric water heaters:

  1. Tankless Design: Titan water heaters are tankless, meaning they do not store hot water in a large tank like traditional water heaters. Instead, they heat water instantly as it flows through the unit. This design eliminates the need for a large storage tank and ensures a continuous supply of hot water.

  2. Electric-Powered: Titan water heaters are powered by electricity, making them suitable for areas where gas lines are not available or for those who prefer an electric heating option.

  3. Energy Efficiency: Titan water heaters are known for their energy efficiency. Because they only heat water as needed, there is no standby heat loss associated with traditional tank-style water heaters. This can result in energy savings and lower utility bills.

  4. Compact Size: These water heaters are compact and wall-mounted, saving valuable floor space in your home. Their small size makes them suitable for apartments, condos, and other spaces with limited room for a water heater.

  5. Multiple Models: Titan offers a range of models with different heating capacities to meet various hot water demands. This allows customers to choose the right size for their specific needs, whether it's for a single faucet or for multiple points of use.

  6. Digital Temperature Control: Many Titan water heater models feature digital temperature control, allowing users to set and adjust the desired water temperature easily.

  7. Quick Installation: The tankless design and compact size of Titan water heaters make them relatively easy to install. However, it's essential to follow the manufacturer's installation guidelines and, if necessary, hire a professional plumber or electrician for installation.

  8. Longevity: With proper maintenance, Titan electric water heaters can have a long operational life. Regular maintenance may include descaling the unit to prevent mineral buildup, which can affect its efficiency.

  9. Warranty: Titan typically offers warranties on their water heaters, providing peace of mind to customers in case of any manufacturing defects or issues.

In summary, Titan electric water heaters are known for their tankless, energy-efficient, and compact design. They provide hot water on-demand, making them suitable for various applications, from single-point-of-use installations to whole-house hot water needs. Before purchasing a Titan water heater, it's essential to consider your hot water demands, electrical requirements, and the specific model that best suits your needs.

User questions & answers

Question: why can't I get any water pressure or hot water in my tub? I works great in the kitchen and bathroom sink. this makes no sense to me
Answer: Most likely the lines running to your kitchen and bath sink are partially clogged with build up. That causes a water flow rate too low to trip the Titan water heater on. Most likely new water lines need to be run there. Good luck
Question: How can we purchase the Titan N120 Tankless water heater
Answer: Cash usually works well. You can buy direct from Tital, or a number of plumbing outlets, we have a few in Florida. I have also seen them on ebay & Amazon, about $200-$250.00 new
Question: we have a 1600 sf home want to know how big is the tankless water heather i need to buy
Answer: More important than how big your home is would be how close is the tankless heater to your point of use and how cold is the incoming water? I live in Florida, so the water is never very cold which helps the heater to work very well for me. If your incoming water is colder than 55*F, I would recommend a bigger unit than the N120.
Question: Is it Digtal
Answer: The unit has 2 (Only) buttons that are in fact digital, those 2 buttons are the only controls you have to turn up or down the temperature, needless to say, the buttons are right on the control panel of the unit and the control panel of the unit, is what fails and makes this unit a very poor choice, since the "10 years guarantee" only covers leaks, and nothing else on this unit.

EcoSmart ECO 11 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 13KW at 240 Volts with Patented Self Modulating Technology

EcoSmart

Based on 2 reviews Check latest price

Product description

This Smart Technology electric tankless water heater is configured as a "whole home" model for climates where incoming water temperature is 67°F and above. This model is well suited for heating up to 2-Gallon per minute, which is the equivalent of one shower head (with a 1.5 gpm flow) and one sink with a low inlet water temperature of 67°F and an output setting of 105°F. Digital Temperature Control allows you to set your temperature in increments of 1 Degree. This model can also be used in colder climates as a Point of Use for a sink or other low flow application. All tankless water heaters are sized based on flow rate and temperature rise, and there is a direct relationship between the two. So if used in a cold area requiring a high temperature rise, it will be more limited in the amount of fixtures (gallons per minute) it can heat at one time compared to a warmer climate. When sized properly this water heater will provide endless hot water and only consume the energy needed, giving the user complete control. Prior to purchase and installation please verify this model is the right size for the expected demand and electrical requirements. The ECO 11 requires a minimum 125 amp electrical panel for installation with 60 amp double pole breaker connected to set of #6 awg wire. Plumbing connections are 1/2" compression fitting with the option of 1/2" NPT adapter included. For additional assistance please feel free to contact our support center at 877-474-6473.

User questions & answers

Question: Ours has only been in service for less than a year - will not adjust temperature to anything above 85 Deg. F. What do you think is the problem ? kds
Answer: My only guess is that the rheostat (variable resistor) that the temperature adjustment knob is attached to may be faulty. If that isn't it then I don't know. Sorry.
Question: The warrenty says that this unit must be installed by a licensed electrician and plumber, for them to honor the "life time warrenty." why
Answer: Hello Bob, The reason is the same as why an innumerable number of gadgets around the world have that little "warranty void if removed" label. Because getting inside of one requires a certain level of training and expertise. Same with this unit. GadgetsGo is an authorized Ecosmart dealer. Kind regards,HenryGadgetsGo
Question: My house is wired 110V. What additional items do I need to purchase for the conversion
Answer: Just to expand slightly on prior answers, normally a residential service feed is 240 volts between the two incoming hot legs. There is also a neutral leg, which (hopefully) has zero potential with reference to ground. The voltage between either one of the hot legs and the neutral leg is 120 volts. The 120 volt circuits in your house are connected to one or the other of the two hot legs, and only one. An attempt is made to assign circuits to the two hot legs in a way that will roughly balance the load between them. The other side of a 120 volt circuit is connected to the neutral leg. There is additionally a safety ground run with the circuit, which also ties into the panel. Certain devices require more power (work product of current and voltage) than is practical to deliver using a 120 volt circuit. Common examples are your clothes dryer, and your electric stove. These devices are powered by both hot legs, with a difference in potential of 240 volts. This water heater is also such a device.STRONG BUT FRIENDLY WARNING: If you did not already know this, please don't make wiring this water heater your learning opportunity with electricity. Hire someone who knows how to do it right. Cutting corners, especially with higher currents and voltages, can lead to equipment damage, fire, and electrocution. Electricity is not magic, and you can certainly learn how to do many common wiring tasks safely on your own, but today is not the day to begin that journey. You need properly sized components, properly installed, and connected to an adequate service. Also, if you really, really foul up, you could conceivably wind up making that morning shower more energizing than you ever imagined, if you get what I mean. So newly aspiring electricians should go fix their grandmother's favorite table lamp instead. Once they have that working they can use it to to start reading books about electricity, residential wiring, and eventually, books about this stuff: http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_8?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=nec+code&sprefix=nec+code%2Caps%2C164 . Of course, you still have to know not to nick conductors when you strip them, and other trade craft like that ; ) . Like almost everything in life that is fun, electricity will hurt you. Sort of like all those people you dated for a while, and then wished later you had never met.
Question: what amp breaker is required
Answer: The National Electrical Code requires conductors and overcurrent protection to be sized at 100% of the manufacturer's branch circuit recommendation for tankless electric water heaters. A 60 amp breaker is the same price as a 40 or 50, it is the wire that costs more. #6 AWG wire is required for a 60 amp circuit. If you undersize the wire it could overheat and catch fire. Protect your family and follow the manufacturer's sizing for this, or any other, electrical device. Your family's lives are worth the extra money. 

3 Smart Steps for Endless Hot Water

Step 1: Determining your average inlet water temperature is important, this allows you to determine how well your unit will perform in your desired location. A lower inlet water temperature will require a higher kilowatt product.

Step 2: Next you will determine how many applications your unit can run simultaneously at your chosen location inlet water temperature. Tankless electric water heaters are sized for maximum simultaneous use, not maximum fixtures in your home.

Step 3: Determining specifications and electrical infrastructure is important because without the correct infrastructure your unit may not fit into your breaker panel.

This can reduce hot water costs up to 60% over conventional electric water heaters. The TITAN-SCR2's high efficiency is in part due to its dedicated digital microprocessor that samples input and output temperatures 21 times per second. This power control system analyzes the data and manages power usage for maximum efficiency and temperature stability. At rest, the TITAN-SCR2 uses no power at all.

Answer: This is a 199,000 btu model, a 3/4" gas line is required to have sufficient gas supply.
Question: degree water going in what degree will be at the tap
Answer: rinnai recommends the GTK03 Grundfos kit for this unit
Question: are any of these tankless water heaters plug in
Answer: I think, you need buy a WiFi module, call Rennai and ask. Circ-logic did not work for me, I had to install re circulation pipe. Because of the high minimum flow requirements, this unit did not work with any regular re circulation pump, so wasted money buying a Watts pump. And paid double for the labor. Rennai told me that I should have bought their thankless heater with re-circulation built in.
Question: Would you recommend this model for a shower in a guest bathroom

User questions & answers

Answer: How long does it take to heat the water when turned on?
Question: When we went to connect the water connector tube to the red ring hot water outlet it would not fit. There was a red tub in the outlet that prevented t
Answer: Yes, you are correct, one of the units I installed had the same issue with the red plastic fitting liner protruding, and it cannot be pushed in or removed. I solved the problem by filing the plastic down to just above the metal pipe. Make sure to keep it level and remove burrs. Another fix would be to use standard pipe fittings such as putting a street ell on the tank nipple then connecting your flex hose to that - use brass or stainless fittings and pipe dope.
Question: Has anyone used a t-valve to hook this to their toilet inlet line? I'd like to split the toilet line, install this, then attach my sprayer bidet
Answer: Yes you can, but you know, you can buy a bidet with a water on demand heater built in it ! much better and you are not reheating 2.5 gals of water after each use. Check on Amazon or Wish for a bidet, it is not expensive .
Question: Does it need its own breaker
Answer: Yes and no, it depends on where you are robbing the power from ,if it is from a circuit with very little use like bath wall outlets only ( like I did ) I would say no ,but if its from a circuit with heavy use, I would say yes, also what are you going to use the hot water for ? in my case, I use mine at the wash basin only so it is not heating continuously. .

User questions & answers

Question: How do know which size to buy? We will supply two bathrooms, dish washer, clothes washer. What size should I choose
Answer: I noted someone below stating they got the largest one and they can only run one water source at a time. My guess is they installed it wrong by not getting the electric hooked up right, or maybe the unit was just defective, or they live in Alaska. I went under size with an Eco 27 a few years ago because that’s all my electric panel could handle. We have zero issues in the summer. During winter months we can only run one shower at a time and have to slowly fill a tub (maybe 3/4 fill speed). To save as much money as I am on electric bill and have unlimited shower lengths (only 1 person at a time mid-Dec to mid-March) is totally worth it. On here today because I’m thinking of upping my panel size so was thinking of going with a larger one now. Regardless, CCRC’s experience with the largest unit not working is nothing like the experience I’ve had, and again I intentionally undersized mine for the house. The website has a clear chart to explain size you need based on number of water fixtures in your home and ground water temperature.
Question: Can this unit supply a 3,700 sq foot home with 3 1/2 baths
Answer: In the lower states it can, but in the northern states, multiple simultaneous users, it will be overloaded. If you can afford a 3,700 square foot home, then you can place a unit in each appropriate demand zone and be very glad you did. I love mine, live in KY, get great supply when the water is above 60 degrees, and then it slows the flow as the temperature drops. I have dishwasher, washing machine, garden tube, 2 showers, 3 sinks and 4 people. It is better than great in the summer, okay spring and fall, and we are conservative in the winter.
Question: What is the power consumption of this tank-less heater
Answer: The instantaneous power consumption while the hot water is running is quite high (up to 18kW or 27kW depending on which model you’re looking at on this page). However, when no hot water is being used, the power consumption is 0 (or a minuscule amount to run an LED light or something). The total power consumption over the course of several days or longer should be much lower than a tank heater but the short term power usage while the heater is making hot water will be much higher than a tank heater. It’s just that the unit sits idle most of the time while a tank heater will use power fairly frequently even when no hot water is needed as the water in the tank cools off over time and needs to be re-heater fairly constantly
Question: remote
Answer: This unit does not have the ability to have a remote temperature control.

User questions & answers

Question: I understand this unit, the ECO 24, requires 3 - 220 (double) breakers. What amperage for each
Answer: 40 amp 240v breakers (2 pole breakers)
Question: Will this Eco 24 system work with a dedicated 100A sub-panel off a 200A service panel
Answer: I'm not an electrician, but in your situation, all the power is coming from the main service panel. You should consult with an electrician to calculate your maximum load. I've had no issues with my Eco 24 running 3-40 amp breakers off a 200 amp service panel. If you have a heat pump you could be pushing the limit at certain times. Be safe, consult an electrician.
Question: will this work to fill up small jacuzzi
Answer: Hello Oscar. This unit is not intended for a Jacuzzi due to the flow rate that the Jacuzzi requires. Instead, Ecosmart manufactures a product specifically for this. It is the Smart SPA and we have it for sale on our Amazon store. GadgetsGo is an Authorized Ecosmart Dealer.Kind Regards,Ross GadgetsGo
Question: i have 6 bathrooms, 2 laundry rooms will one do the job? or i need two
Answer: Hello Raz,Thank you for your question. I am replying in less than one hour, after business hours, to expedite your request.Actually it does not matter how many bathrooms your home has. What matters is how many points of use that you will use at the same time. So to determine whether this or any tankless heater will work, just add up the total water flow rate in gallons per minute ("GPM") of all your points of use. A shower flow rate can range from 1.5 to 2.5 GPM. A bathroom sink: 0.75 GPM. A clothes washer: 3 to 4 GPM.So, if you expect only to have one shower and one sink running at the same time, this will give you at least 105F hot water, if your incoming cold water temp is above about 55F.Please let me know if I can assist you further.Kind Regards,Ross KelsonGadgetsGoP.S. If you have found my answer helpful, please prefer us when you purchase. You will continue to get priceless service after the sale.

User questions & answers

Question: Is it necessary to connect an expansion tank to this heater (for safety purposes)? It states something to that effect in the user manual
Answer: The expansion tank for this heater is not required. Most people already have these installed in their homes but if not then it would be Ok without it as there is a pressure relief valve on top if something happened. GlobalTowne is an authorized Bosch distributor.
Question: would this be able to supply a shower
Answer: A standard flow shower head is around 2.5 gallons per minute. A low flow head is around 1.5 gallons per minute. The recovery rate for a 90 degree temperature rise is 6.8 gallons per hour! So even the 7.5 gallon unit would only provide 4 minutes of shower time before the temp dropped off dramatically. (even at the low flow rate..)
Question: Can be used "in-line with a large hot water source"? Would it help a large bathtub that runs out of hot water before it gets full from main tank
Answer: If your bathtub is bigger than your main heater tank, this unit isn't going to do much for you. It will add 2.5, 4, or 7 gallons to the capacity of your main tank, depending on which Bosch unit you buy. The 7 gallon unit requires a specially wired circuit. You will also get a little bit of lukewarm water that was in the line between your main heater and the Bosch unit. Unless your main tank is awfully small and your bathtub massive, the 4 gallon unit should work for you. Maybe a demand type thankless heater in your bathtub hot water feed would be a better choice, but be careful to size it properly for your desired flow rate and temperature rise. Also a tankless is likely to require special wiring.
Question: When this heater is connected to the hot water line, what happens with the cold water that was sitting in the pipes
Answer: When the tap is opened, the hot water in the unit flows out. The colder water that was sitting upstream of the unit, enters the unit to be heated. If the tap remains open, the newly heated water flows out, being replaced eventually, (depending on the distance to the main water heater), with the water from the main water heater. You will probably set the unit temperature to equal the main water heater temperature, if you want to keep a constant temperature, but other scenarios are possible.

This heater can supplement a primary water heating source, or be used under a single sink. In fact, the Bosch Tronic 3000 T can be used for three different applications: as a sole water heating source for a single sink, as a supplement to an existing heater located far from the sink, and as a buffer installed in-line with tankless water heaters that experience intermittent cold water, also known as 'cold water sandwiching'. No matter the configuration, there’s minimal stand-by loss from this premium mini-tank water heater.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the recovery time if the 7 gallons of hot water is used
Answer: I have the 4 gallon tank and it is not too bad for the reheat
Question: Can I reduce the pipe's size from 3/4 in to 1/2 in without any negative effect on the unit
Answer: No harm to unit.....Max water flow will be reduced a little.
Question: Can i use this to replace a small rv hot water heater
Answer: Yes, but realize that it's electric and draws quite a few amps, most rv water heaters are propane.
Question: The Manual request for the ES8 a 20 Amp breaker and 12GA wire. The wattage however is 1440 with 12 Amps. Why then 20 Amp breaker and not
Answer: I would use a 20 amp circuit with 12 ga wire but there are no inrush concerns with a resistive load. A heating element does not have a higher initial current draw like a motor. It draws 1440 watts or 12 amps at 120v. Since 14 ga wire must be fused for 15 amps, this device by itself is already at 80% of the circuit’s capacity.
