Answer:	I would use a 20 amp circuit with 12 ga wire but there are no inrush concerns with a resistive load. A heating element does not have a higher initial current draw like a motor. It draws 1440 watts or 12 amps at 120v. Since 14 ga wire must be fused for 15 amps, this device by itself is already at 80% of the circuit’s capacity.

Question:	Is it necessary to connect an expansion tank to this heater (for safety purposes)? It states something to that effect in the user manual
Answer:	The expansion tank for this heater is not required. Most people already have these installed in their homes but if not then it would be Ok without it as there is a pressure relief valve on top if something happened. GlobalTowne is an authorized Bosch distributor.
Question:	would this be able to supply a shower
Answer:	A standard flow shower head is around 2.5 gallons per minute. A low flow head is around 1.5 gallons per minute. The recovery rate for a 90 degree temperature rise is 6.8 gallons per hour! So even the 7.5 gallon unit would only provide 4 minutes of shower time before the temp dropped off dramatically. (even at the low flow rate..)
Question:	Can be used "in-line with a large hot water source"? Would it help a large bathtub that runs out of hot water before it gets full from main tank
Answer:	If your bathtub is bigger than your main heater tank, this unit isn't going to do much for you. It will add 2.5, 4, or 7 gallons to the capacity of your main tank, depending on which Bosch unit you buy. The 7 gallon unit requires a specially wired circuit. You will also get a little bit of lukewarm water that was in the line between your main heater and the Bosch unit. Unless your main tank is awfully small and your bathtub massive, the 4 gallon unit should work for you. Maybe a demand type thankless heater in your bathtub hot water feed would be a better choice, but be careful to size it properly for your desired flow rate and temperature rise. Also a tankless is likely to require special wiring.
Question:	When this heater is connected to the hot water line, what happens with the cold water that was sitting in the pipes
Answer:	When the tap is opened, the hot water in the unit flows out. The colder water that was sitting upstream of the unit, enters the unit to be heated. If the tap remains open, the newly heated water flows out, being replaced eventually, (depending on the distance to the main water heater), with the water from the main water heater. You will probably set the unit temperature to equal the main water heater temperature, if you want to keep a constant temperature, but other scenarios are possible.

Answer:	Yes, you are correct, one of the units I installed had the same issue with the red plastic fitting liner protruding, and it cannot be pushed in or removed. I solved the problem by filing the plastic down to just above the metal pipe. Make sure to keep it level and remove burrs. Another fix would be to use standard pipe fittings such as putting a street ell on the tank nipple then connecting your flex hose to that - use brass or stainless fittings and pipe dope.
Question:	Has anyone used a t-valve to hook this to their toilet inlet line? I'd like to split the toilet line, install this, then attach my sprayer bidet
Answer:	Yes you can, but you know, you can buy a bidet with a water on demand heater built in it ! much better and you are not reheating 2.5 gals of water after each use. Check on Amazon or Wish for a bidet, it is not expensive .
Question:	Does it need its own breaker
Answer:	Yes and no, it depends on where you are robbing the power from ,if it is from a circuit with very little use like bath wall outlets only ( like I did ) I would say no ,but if its from a circuit with heavy use, I would say yes, also what are you going to use the hot water for ? in my case, I use mine at the wash basin only so it is not heating continuously. .

Answer:	Any insulation is good for saving on your water heating bill. This is a relatively thin layer so it might be easier to install in a crawl space. Be extra careful not to rip the foil coating. It is thin and tears easily.
Question:	If I need a longer hose, can you just use any appliance hose with 3/4" fittings or is there something special about the hose proided
Answer:	Going by 3" thickness, the R value should be 10 - the same as the SP57 model.
Question:	What is the length of the flexible hose
Answer:	I cannot recall exactly how the one I ordered was packaged, and my hot water heater is right at 5’ and it covered it well. You will just need to open it (it could be folded) and if it is smaller than the stated dimensions, return it.
Question:	Will this help boost production on a tankless water heater
Answer:	The "blanket" is merely a thin section of insulation with mylar covering on one side. Cutting it is easy with scissors and will do no harm. The mylar is very thin and you must be careful not to puncture it. You may want to buy a roll of tape. The pieces that come with it don't go too far.

Answer:	Most rinnai tankless weather it is out door or indoor, have a control board to adjust temp and either on or off

Answer:	I bought model V65EN. It came with a wired digital controller. The installer did not run the wire into the house and mount the controller indoors. He simply set the controller at 120 degrees and left the controller inside the unit. If I want to change the temp, I have to take the cover of the unit.

I have answered couple of questions before in re:various aspects of this product and basically I am very satisfied with itMy heater sits RIGHT NEXT to my basement door - and I have an old house so that area is far from being 'warm and cozy'. I am not going to tell you whether or not we "saved money" by using this blanket - with the electricity rates going up and down and what-have-you...its not worth my time figuring out that difference. What I CAN tell you is that the difference in the temperature of the hot water was IMMEDIATELY noticed by both my wife and I in the shower and the kitchen (reasonably 2 places the hot water gets used the most). Answer:	This insulations main function is to reflect Radiant heat, it doesn't do much in the way of stopping Conductive heat transfer, therefore, radiant/reflective type insulation doesn't have much, if any R value which only applies to Conduction, the R value for this is probably is the range of 0.5 to 1.5. However, since most of the heat loss from the skin of your water heater is Radiant and Convective, this type insulation is effective in reducing the heat loss. It reflects the radiant heat emmitting from the skin of your water heater, and thus provides a cooler outer surface in contact with the air, which reduces the convective heat loss also. Reflective insulation can be quite effective with virtually no R value, R value only applies to Conductive heat transfer; Raditation and Convection insulations have different performance measurements, a published Radiant heat reflective rating would help, but any reflective insulation that uses at least 99% pure aluminum has about a 97% Radiant heat reflective performance. This stuff works like those thin foil emergency blankets you can buy at any sporting goods store, those blankets have 0 R value, but can keep you warmer by reflecting your radiant heat back toward your body.

Installation Tips for T/ P Relief Valve

Comes with CSA listed temperature /pressure relief valve. Install the T/P valve into the threaded opening at the top of the water heater using heavy duty teflon tape.Do not over tightern! Orient the discharge tubing so that any discharge from the valve will exit within 6 inches above, or at any distance below the structural floor, and cannot any live electrical part.
