"The Stiebel Eltron Tempra 24 Plus Tankless Water Heater features exclusive Advanced Flow Control German patented technology invented by Stiebel Eltron to automatically maintain water temperature for constant comfort. It’ll reduce flow slightly if hot water demand exceeds capacity to ensure that hot showers will never be interrupted. Tempra 24 Plus will typically use 15-20% less energy compared to conventional electric tank water heaters. Although, it’s possible to save significantly more energy depending on personal home usage habits. The difference is that conventional tank water heaters continually store hot water, and as a result, lose 15%-20% of the total energy consumed to the environment around them. This is called standby heat loss. Tank water heaters that use gas or oil are even less efficient, because they also lose heat through their vents to the outdoors. Our tankless water heaters do not need venting, and will not store hot water, waiting for you to use it. They operate on-demand to provide continuous and endless hot water when you need it, and not waste energy when you don’t. CERTIFICATIONS INCLUDE - ANSI/UL Std. 499, CSA Std. Product description
Siebel Elton developed thankless electric water heating technology almost 90 years ago and continues as the industry pioneer and world leader. Our engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence means you can depend on the performance and reliability of our products. Instead of storing hot water, Mini Series models are thankless, heating water instantaneously and endlessly as it flows through the unit. They are 99% efficient, and, unlike tank-type water heaters, have no stand-by energy losses. No venting is necessary and the sleek, super-compact design even allows for installation with the unit visible. Mini models are ideal for residential and commercial point-of-use hand-washing sink applications including: bathrooms, cabins and cottages, office buildings, stores, malls, warehouses, restaurants and gas stations. Mini models are sized based on the flow rate of the sink you are plumbing for hot water. The temperature of the hot water delivered by a Mini depends on the temperature of the incoming cold water, the water flow through the unit and the size of the Mini model that is installed. Mini models excel at supplying water at a constant temperature rise but must be carefully matched to the application in order to operate properly - professional installation is highly recommended.
- Extremely compact design saves space
- Sleek design is appealing and can be mounted in plain sight
- Minimum flow to activate unit: 0.21 GPM 0.8 l/min and internally restricted to 0.32 GPM
- Major energy savings
- Warranty: 7 years against leakage and 3 years against defects in workmanship & materials
User questions & answers
Question: | Could this be used in a 30amp service RV for a shower? And could it run off of a power inverter for off grid situations |
Answer: | No. It is designed for a sink for hand washing. |
Question: | Can it be pluged in regular electrical socket |
Answer: | No. A regular electrical socket is either 15 amp 120volt or 20 amp 120 volt. You would need dedicated 30 amp 120volt receptacle wired with #10awg copper wire and protected by a 30 amp circuit breaker, if allowed by local electrical code. Otherwise it may have to be wired direct. Check with your local electrical or building inspector. |
Question: | What's the minimum required water pressure for this unit to work |
Answer: | Minimum flow to activate unit: 0.21 GPM 0.8 l/min and internally restricted to 0.32 GPM |
Question: | Have 1.5 gpm & want a 11F boost. Can you remove the restrictor and hook the cold supply to the hot water line? Mine runs at 116F at the tap |
Answer: | If you're getting 116F you are an extremely lucky individual. Mine might reach 100 on a warm day. I don't really undersand your question, but if you increase the flow of water throught the device, your effective temperature will be reduced. |

This Smart Technology electric tankless water heater is configured as a "whole home" model for climates where incoming water temperature is 62°F and above. The ECO 18 is capable of heating over 2.5 gallons per minute, which is the equivalent of one water saver shower head (with a 1.5 gpm flow) and one sink with a low inlet water temperature of 62°F, and an output setting of 105° F. Two showers emitting no more than 1.5 gpm each can be run simultaneously when incoming water temperature is above 70° F. Digital temperature control allows you to set your temperature in increments of 1°. All tankless water heaters are sized based on flow rate and temperature rise, and there is a direct relationship between the two. So if used in a cold area requiring a high temperature rise, it will be more limited in the amount of fixtures (gallons per minute) it can heat at one time compared to a warmer climate. However, when sized properly it will provide endless hot water and only consume the energy needed, giving the user complete control. Prior to purchase and installation please verify this model is the right size for the expected demand and electrical requirements. The ECO 18 requires a minimum 150 amp electrical panel for installation with 40 amp double pole breakers connected to sets of #8 awg wire. Plumbing connections are 3/4" NPT. For additional assistance please feel free to contact our support center at 877-474-6473.

User questions & answers
Question: | How do know which size to buy? We will supply two bathrooms, dish washer, clothes washer. What size should I choose |
Answer: | I noted someone below stating they got the largest one and they can only run one water source at a time. My guess is they installed it wrong by not getting the electric hooked up right, or maybe the unit was just defective, or they live in Alaska. I went under size with an Eco 27 a few years ago because that’s all my electric panel could handle. We have zero issues in the summer. During winter months we can only run one shower at a time and have to slowly fill a tub (maybe 3/4 fill speed). To save as much money as I am on electric bill and have unlimited shower lengths (only 1 person at a time mid-Dec to mid-March) is totally worth it. On here today because I’m thinking of upping my panel size so was thinking of going with a larger one now. Regardless, CCRC’s experience with the largest unit not working is nothing like the experience I’ve had, and again I intentionally undersized mine for the house. The website has a clear chart to explain size you need based on number of water fixtures in your home and ground water temperature. |
Question: | Can this unit supply a 3,700 sq foot home with 3 1/2 baths |
Answer: | In the lower states it can, but in the northern states, multiple simultaneous users, it will be overloaded. If you can afford a 3,700 square foot home, then you can place a unit in each appropriate demand zone and be very glad you did. I love mine, live in KY, get great supply when the water is above 60 degrees, and then it slows the flow as the temperature drops. I have dishwasher, washing machine, garden tube, 2 showers, 3 sinks and 4 people. It is better than great in the summer, okay spring and fall, and we are conservative in the winter. |
Question: | What is the power consumption of this tank-less heater |
Answer: | The instantaneous power consumption while the hot water is running is quite high (up to 18kW or 27kW depending on which model you’re looking at on this page). However, when no hot water is being used, the power consumption is 0 (or a minuscule amount to run an LED light or something). The total power consumption over the course of several days or longer should be much lower than a tank heater but the short term power usage while the heater is making hot water will be much higher than a tank heater. It’s just that the unit sits idle most of the time while a tank heater will use power fairly frequently even when no hot water is needed as the water in the tank cools off over time and needs to be re-heater fairly constantly |
Question: | remote |
Answer: | This unit does not have the ability to have a remote temperature control. |

3 Smart Steps for Endless Hot Water
Step 1: Determining your average inlet water temperature is important, this allows you to determine how well your unit will perform in your desired location. A lower inlet water temperature will require a higher kilowatt product.
Step 2: Next you will determine how many applications your unit can run simultaneously at your chosen location inlet water temperature. Tankless electric water heaters are sized for maximum simultaneous use, not maximum fixtures in your home.
Step 3: Determining specifications and electrical infrastructure is important because without the correct infrastructure your unit may not fit into your breaker panel.

The SHC 6 gallon mini-tank 120 V. electric water heater frees up precious space while providing plenty of hot water for hand washing or kitchen type applications. Why store 30 or more gallons of hot water when 6 gallons are sufficient for the job? By putting the hot water right where is is needed, you can reduce pipe runs from a central hot water tank. This reduces the use of water and energy. The smaller tank coupled with good insulation also reduces the stand-by losses in comparison with larger tank type water heaters. The unit installs right under or near the sink. Lightweight and compact, the SHC mounts to the wall *bracket included). You plumb it to the cold water supply line. Once it is filled with water, simply plug the 3-prong grounded pigtail (included) into a 110-120 V. outlet. With only an 11A current draw, no special wiring is required. The unit offers a 6 year warranty on the tank, and 2 years on all the other components of the unit. Use include: Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and Residential such as: Office Buildings, Stores, Malls, Warehouses, Bathroom Sinks, Kitchen Sinks, Laundry Areas, Cabins/Cottages, Restaurants, Gas Stations, Schools, and Hotels/Motels. User questions & answers
Question: | How long does it take to heat the (cold) water in the tank if power to the unit has been shut-off for a period |
Answer: | I wouldn’t think so. It simply thin plastic that holds shards of glass together if the window breaks. But a bullet would probably go right through. |
Question: | Will this fit under a bathroom lavatory sink?? 26.5 inches tall and 16 inches wide |
Answer: | No it does not have wheels. |
Question: | Can the unit be hard wired instead of being plugged into an outlet |
Answer: | No. The surface is decorative. The instructions recommend you do not use for food prep or cutting. The finish is not coated so I am not sure that it is toxic but it is not meant to be used as a butcher block. We use ours with a cutting board and try to wipe up all spills and liquids right away, cleaning with only water and a mild dish soap. No problems so far after 9 months of use. The top is held on by 6 screws that fit in the bottom from the metal base. It seems like it would be easy to get a custom butcher block cut to use with this base. |
Question: | anyone wish theyd bought the 4gal or the 2.5 is more than enough for light use |
Answer: | I have used the top as a work surface. It is actually holding up really, really well. We have left wet wine glasses on it, served buffet of food on it, and it looks brand new. We are very pleased. |
Question: | How many gallons per minute does this unit heat |
Answer: | I don't think so. It's a very substantial/heavy table. I'm not sure how wheels would fit on the legs. |
Question: | For North Texas, will this supply two showers running at the same time |
Answer: | 24 1/8 X 18 1'2 Should fit into the space you designated |
Question: | amp or 60-amp breakers? The specsheet for the Tempra 24 Plus on stiebel-eltron's website says 2x 50 amps, but people here seemed to use |
Answer: | Yes it can be painted but need to sand it for the paint to stick. Wouldn't take much and it would look great in white. It is wood too. |
Question: | what is the warranty for tempra 24 plus |
Answer: | Unfortunately no, it can only be installed on the one side. If you are handy and want to drill holes in the other side that would work. |
Question: | Does this water heater require a drip pan |
Answer: | yes, you can assemble the cart without the towel holder. the holder comes as a separate piece that does not require attachment. I did the same thing with my cart and i did not attach the holder. another point: you may want to attach larger wheels to the cart. the ones that come with the cart are too small and make it hard to roll the cart around. |
Question: | Do you need a water softener |
Answer: | The height is 11 inches. Opening for dish is 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. |
Question: | What is the flow rate |
Answer: | This diner measures 7.25-in long, 7.25-in wide, by 8.56-in tall. |
Question: | Can your tankless water heaters be mounted outside |
Answer: | It shouldn’t. It is flimsy and unsteady while dog is eating; the double feeder is sturdy. I kept the dish and tossed the stand! |

Product description
This Smart Technology electric tankless water heater is configured as a "whole home" model for climates where incoming water temperature is 67°F and above. This model is well suited for heating up to 2-Gallon per minute, which is the equivalent of one shower head (with a 1.5 gpm flow) and one sink with a low inlet water temperature of 67°F and an output setting of 105°F. Digital Temperature Control allows you to set your temperature in increments of 1 Degree. This model can also be used in colder climates as a Point of Use for a sink or other low flow application. All tankless water heaters are sized based on flow rate and temperature rise, and there is a direct relationship between the two. So if used in a cold area requiring a high temperature rise, it will be more limited in the amount of fixtures (gallons per minute) it can heat at one time compared to a warmer climate. When sized properly this water heater will provide endless hot water and only consume the energy needed, giving the user complete control. Prior to purchase and installation please verify this model is the right size for the expected demand and electrical requirements. The ECO 11 requires a minimum 125 amp electrical panel for installation with 60 amp double pole breaker connected to set of #6 awg wire. Plumbing connections are 1/2" compression fitting with the option of 1/2" NPT adapter included. For additional assistance please feel free to contact our support center at 877-474-6473.
NOTE : 11Kw at 220 is equal to 13kw at 240. .Activation Flow : 0.3 GPM

User questions & answers
Question: | Ours has only been in service for less than a year - will not adjust temperature to anything above 85 Deg. F. What do you think is the problem ? kds |
Answer: | My only guess is that the rheostat (variable resistor) that the temperature adjustment knob is attached to may be faulty. If that isn't it then I don't know. Sorry. |
Question: | The warrenty says that this unit must be installed by a licensed electrician and plumber, for them to honor the "life time warrenty." why |
Answer: | Hello Bob, The reason is the same as why an innumerable number of gadgets around the world have that little "warranty void if removed" label. Because getting inside of one requires a certain level of training and expertise. Same with this unit. GadgetsGo is an authorized Ecosmart dealer. Kind regards,HenryGadgetsGo |
Question: | My house is wired 110V. What additional items do I need to purchase for the conversion |
Answer: | Just to expand slightly on prior answers, normally a residential service feed is 240 volts between the two incoming hot legs. There is also a neutral leg, which (hopefully) has zero potential with reference to ground. The voltage between either one of the hot legs and the neutral leg is 120 volts. The 120 volt circuits in your house are connected to one or the other of the two hot legs, and only one. An attempt is made to assign circuits to the two hot legs in a way that will roughly balance the load between them. The other side of a 120 volt circuit is connected to the neutral leg. There is additionally a safety ground run with the circuit, which also ties into the panel. Certain devices require more power (work product of current and voltage) than is practical to deliver using a 120 volt circuit. Common examples are your clothes dryer, and your electric stove. These devices are powered by both hot legs, with a difference in potential of 240 volts. This water heater is also such a device.STRONG BUT FRIENDLY WARNING: If you did not already know this, please don't make wiring this water heater your learning opportunity with electricity. Hire someone who knows how to do it right. Cutting corners, especially with higher currents and voltages, can lead to equipment damage, fire, and electrocution. Electricity is not magic, and you can certainly learn how to do many common wiring tasks safely on your own, but today is not the day to begin that journey. You need properly sized components, properly installed, and connected to an adequate service. Also, if you really, really foul up, you could conceivably wind up making that morning shower more energizing than you ever imagined, if you get what I mean. So newly aspiring electricians should go fix their grandmother's favorite table lamp instead. Once they have that working they can use it to to start reading books about electricity, residential wiring, and eventually, books about this stuff: http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_8?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=nec+code&sprefix=nec+code%2Caps%2C164 . Of course, you still have to know not to nick conductors when you strip them, and other trade craft like that ; ) . Like almost everything in life that is fun, electricity will hurt you. Sort of like all those people you dated for a while, and then wished later you had never met. |
Question: | what amp breaker is required |
Answer: | The National Electrical Code requires conductors and overcurrent protection to be sized at 100% of the manufacturer's branch circuit recommendation for tankless electric water heaters. A 60 amp breaker is the same price as a 40 or 50, it is the wire that costs more. #6 AWG wire is required for a 60 amp circuit. If you undersize the wire it could overheat and catch fire. Protect your family and follow the manufacturer's sizing for this, or any other, electrical device. Your family's lives are worth the extra money. |

Answer: | This is a 199,000 btu model, a 3/4" gas line is required to have sufficient gas supply. |
Question: | degree water going in what degree will be at the tap |
Answer: | rinnai recommends the GTK03 Grundfos kit for this unit |
Question: | are any of these tankless water heaters plug in |
Answer: | I think, you need buy a WiFi module, call Rennai and ask. Circ-logic did not work for me, I had to install re circulation pipe. Because of the high minimum flow requirements, this unit did not work with any regular re circulation pump, so wasted money buying a Watts pump. And paid double for the labor. Rennai told me that I should have bought their thankless heater with re-circulation built in. |
Question: | Would you recommend this model for a shower in a guest bathroom |
Answer: | IT CAME WITH ADAPTERS ON THE TOP. NO PIPING. |

Product description
The SHC 4, 4 gallon mini tank 120V (volt) electric water heater frees up precious space while providing plenty of hot water for hand washing or kitchen type applications. Why store 30 or more gallons of hot water when 4 gallons are sufficient for the job? By putting the hot water right where it is needed, you can reduce pipe runs from a central hot water tank. This reduces the use of water and energy. The smaller tank coupled with good insulation also reduces the stand-by losses in comparison with larger tank type water heaters. The unit installs right under or near the sink. Lightweight and compact, the SHC mounts to the wall (bracket included). You plumb it to the cold water supply line. Once it is filled with water, simply plug the 3-prong grounded pigtail (included) into a 110-120V outlet. With only an 11 amp current draw, no special wiring is required. The unit offers a 6 year warranty on the tank, and 2 years on all the other components of the unit. Question: | Is it possible to mount this unit on it's back? so that 12-1/2 becomes the height of the unit or would it interfere with it working properly |
Answer: | No. It must be mounted vertically. |
Question: | Does the SHC 4 have a drain plug at the bottom of the water heater |
Answer: | No. The only way to empty it is to take it off the wall and poor the water out from the outlet tube. |
