There is also a neutral leg, which (hopefully) has zero potential with reference to ground. The voltage between either one of the hot legs and the neutral leg is 120 volts. The 120 volt circuits in your house are connected to one or the other of the two hot legs, and only one. An attempt is made to assign circuits to the two hot legs in a way that will roughly balance the load between them. The other side of a 120 volt circuit is connected to the neutral leg. There is additionally a safety ground run with the circuit, which also ties into the panel. Certain devices require more power (work product of current and voltage) than is practical to deliver using a 120 volt circuit. Common examples are your clothes dryer, and your electric stove. These devices are powered by both hot legs, with a difference in potential of 240 volts. Answer:	No it can't. RTEX-24 requires 3 sets of wire and ground, and it needs 3x 40amp breaker. That's a total of 120amps

Answer:	Actually you can do this but you must be careful on which circuits are connected. Rheem says the elements are activated from right to left as power is required. The right most element connection also provides power to the control so this must always be connected. If the very left element is left disconnected, you will only get 2/3 of the rated power on a 3 element unit.
Question:	Why are 2 answers for the breaker requirements. Is it 3 double 40 or 3 double 60 amp
Answer:	If the unit draws 40 amp. you need a 2 pole 40 amp breaker 2 #8 wires good for 40 amp and 1 # 10 wire for a bond. Now if the unit draws 60 amps you need 2 # 6's good for 65 amps. A 2 pole 60 amp breaker and 1 # 8 for a bond( ground wire).

Question:	Electric panel is ~50 feet from where i want to install the tempra 29 trend. is this distance ok for #8 thhn wire
Answer:	The recommended wire is 8/2 and there is not a limit to distance written in the install directions. You need to check with your electrician. Make sure he is state license and insured. Question:	Is there an installation kit available for this? i am installing in a remote location & plumbing parts are not available? water lines are pvc
Answer:	There is no specific installation kit. However, we suggest using flexible braided hose connections that screw onto the hot and cold water for the first 18" or so. These connections are easy to remove to check a filter screen or if needed to work on the unit in general. The connections are 3/4" NPT. Answer:	I would use a 20 amp circuit with 12 ga wire but there are no inrush concerns with a resistive load. A heating element does not have a higher initial current draw like a motor. It draws 1440 watts or 12 amps at 120v. Since 14 ga wire must be fused for 15 amps, this device by itself is already at 80% of the circuit’s capacity.

Question:	We have a 500sq' apt. 1 kitchen sink, 1 lav sink and tub/shower. This tankless heats water to both sinks but nothing to the tub/sh. Help
Answer:	Sinks have aerators to slow down the water where a tub doesn't. It sounds like one possibility is that your exceeding the GPM for this heater. Next possibility, double check an measure your actually getting at least 240v at the heater, I had an issue where my unit was only getting 235v an it was causing a similar issue where only one of the two heating elements was activating. I had it set to 125F but it was coming out 100F. It was warm and without a meter I would of thought it was working correctly until I tried filling a tub. It couldn't even get the water warm. I pulled my wires out an restripped an cut an screwed them in an it fixed my problem, now its measuring around 245v. Make sure there is no copper showing after screwing down your input wires. Now filling the tub I noticed after about 10-15 seconds the water gets too hot to touch. I set it to 135F.

Answer:	Most likely the lines running to your kitchen and bath sink are partially clogged with build up. That causes a water flow rate too low to trip the Titan water heater on. Most likely new water lines need to be run there. Good luck

Answer:	More important than how big your home is would be how close is the tankless heater to your point of use and how cold is the incoming water? I live in Florida, so the water is never very cold which helps the heater to work very well for me. If your incoming water is colder than 55*F, I would recommend a bigger unit than the N120.
