Had I not bought from a retailer where I was able to reach a live person who then went to bat for me, I would have been left with Hayward shrugging and saying they had no warranty providers in my STATE. (I have to say that, had I known then what I know now about Hayward propane heaters, I would have stayed with my prior electric pool heater and spent the money switching over my hot water heater to gas instead.)

Answer:	We have had the heater for about 4 months and it works great. Heats the jacuzzi twice as fast as the old heater which is the same model but much older. Love it.

Answer:	Chances are you are in luck. I replaced a LAARS Lite 2 335k BTU Natural Gas heater with the 406k BTU Raypak heater. Connections were essentially the same although I took the opportunity to replumb my system and improve the foundation for the heater. I was pleased to learn by a qualified gas plumber that made the final connections that I did not have to increase the size of gas line feed. As I was unhappy with the metal rot in my old heater, I recently completed a simple roof over the unit to reduce precipitation from the unit, and I elevated the unit a few inches on a concrete foundation. I also addressed drainage to ensure no water sat on the unit, internally or otherwise. The Raypak is conditioned for weather, so this my be overkill, but the investment is significant and I felt the unit should receive best care to last over ten years. All that said, the unit works wonderfully, heats my 30,000 gal in-ground pool quickly, and has reduced the cost of maintaining the pool during normal use season. The controls on the unit are such that the unit heats too the desired temperature, then shuts off. A fireman's switch on the pump shuts the heater down 15 minutes before the pump shuts down, so I could improve the programming significantly over the LAARS unit. Best always, Drew

Answer:	The heater will work fine. The only thing you may notice is a lower discharge temp coming from the heater. This will be caused by the water moving faster through it. Should heat just fine though.

Answer:	The pipe connection to this unit is 3/4 inch. However because of friction in the pipe that connects to unit to the gas meter must be sized to allow the gas to flow unrestricted to the heater. long runs may require 2" most residential application will do fine with 1-1/2 in supply. Find a LOCAL POOL PLUMBING Contractor to assist you. Gas piping has several unique requirements. ie heat fused couplings, plastic to steel transition fittings, locating trace wire buried with the line and a few other small requirements, like a shut off in the line at the heater, and must be leak tested under pressure. To recap, The higher the BTU the bigger the pipe, the further you go the bigger the pipe. Fun FACT, natural gas is regulated at only 3/4 psi, that's why you can stop it with you thumb.

Answer:	Yes you could. You'd have to devise the system to suit your needs though. Pump water from ten 55 gallon drums of water, though the solar collector and back, would heat up those drums all day. At night, the heat would radiate out and that bank of energy you store in the day might be what you require at night. But nobody knows your needs like you do, so you would decide. I just threw out one idea...
Question:	Dumb question but I guess you have to run your filter a lot for this to work? Intex doesn't recommend running the filter while you are in the pool
Answer:	I live in Connecticut. At the beginning of the season I ran it all day. You are probably right the more you run it in daylight the more heat it generates. I did not need it mid or late summer. I was happy with it, a few more degrees warmer in the pool is a lot more comfortable.

Answer:	I am not sure. When I purchased by board and it gave me this model board, which is completely different than original. I put it in and it worked perfectly. Very easy to replace. Answer:	Can't comment on the handle but the unit vents through the top and pulls air in through the sides. If the circulation isn't good the unit shuts down. You mention a "tight space" so I figured I pass this on.

Question:	Can this be installed inside the trailer close to a roof vent
Answer:	The manufacturer's instructions say it is only to be used outside, and that it is not designed for a permanent installation. Having said that, mine is installed inside an RV under a window. We crack the window when we want hot water and I am fairly confident we are not putting ourselves in danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. We run it for short periods - a little hot water for washing dishes or short showers. If the intended uses involved running it for longer periods I would want to place a proper vent over it that went outside. In any case, be sure you are mounting it with suitable clearances from anything flammable above and to the sides.
Question:	Is there a vent for this unit? I want to use it inside my camper
Answer:	yes,, i believe it's a round disk type battery

Answer:	It uses a CR2032. The case takes some work to get apart to replace the battery. You have to be careful not to break the tabs that hold top and bottom together.
