  4. Endless Hot Water: One of the main advantages of Rinnai tankless water heaters is the ability to provide a continuous supply of hot water. This is especially beneficial for homes with high hot water demand or multiple bathrooms.

  5. Compact Design: Rinnai water heaters are typically compact and wall-mounted, saving valuable space in your utility area or basement.

  6. Precise Temperature Control: Rinnai units offer precise temperature control, allowing users to set their desired water temperature and maintain it consistently.

  7. Longevity: Rinnai water heaters are known for their durability and long lifespan. Properly maintained units can last for many years.

  8. Digital Controls: Many Rinnai models come equipped with digital controls, making it easy to adjust settings and monitor the unit's performance.

  9. Condensing Technology: Some Rinnai models use condensing technology to further improve energy efficiency by capturing and using heat from exhaust gases.

  10. Warranty: Rinnai typically offers warranties on their water heaters, providing peace of mind to consumers regarding the product's quality and durability.

  11. Professional Installation: It's recommended to have a professional plumber or technician install a Rinnai water heater to ensure proper setup and safety compliance.

User questions & answers

Question: which models are "condensing" units, please
Answer: I don’t know. But I suggest u look for a different brand. It already failed twice in less than a year and their warranty is a scam. They provide the parts which are pennies and leave out labor.
Question: How does it effect the water pressure, will it change
Answer: It does not effect my water pressure at all. I’ve had it for over a year now
Question: My existing water heater is located next to and shares a flue with the furnace. Can I hook the same way on this
Answer: Hold up there, previous answer, not so fast. It is true that you should not have both the hot water heater and furnace venting directly into the flue, combining the exhaust. However, some people see their vent pipes entering the flue (or chimney wall) and assume they are both releasing the fumes inside the chimney. In some cases, the venting pipes continue separately up the flue. Joseph, if you have two vent pipes entering your flue, there is a chance that both pipes continue separately up the flue and out the top. If that is the case, you may be able to use the existing hot water vent system. When you look at the top of your chimney, do you see two terminations coming out?
Question: How does very cold intake water affect performance
Answer: Sorry to contradict but the temperature of the water going into the water heater will definitely have an effect on the temperature of the water coming out. the water heater needs to provide enough BTUs to heat the volume of water that you need to the water temperature that you want. If the water starts off at a lower temperature it will take more BTUs to get it to the temperature you want. This unit claims to be able to provide 6.6 gallons of hot water per minute but that assumes the water is startling an average temperature. If you have a modern shower head it will only use about 2.5 GPM but if you have second shower going, a hot water faucet open or a clothes washer filling at the same time you will run out of capacity quickly. Rinnai should have tables on their website that shows the ability of the unit to heat water at a variety of starting temperatures to a range of hot water temperatures at a given flow rate.

User questions & answers

Question: Can the temperature output be adjusted to 105F
Answer: Most rinnai tankless weather it is out door or indoor, have a control board to adjust temp and either on or off
Question: Can I use the Rinnai V65EP in Denver, Co? Temperatures during the winter can get below zero
Answer: It can definately be out doors in freezing temps, tho power failure arent good for it while in a freeze, tho keep in mind it will use alot more energy for frost protection, indoor units are safer amd more efficient in this case
Question: Does this unit come with controller? rinnai tech said i needed a mc-91-2us controller? do i need to buy separate
Answer: I bought model V65EN. It came with a wired digital controller. The installer did not run the wire into the house and mount the controller indoors. He simply set the controller at 120 degrees and left the controller inside the unit. If I want to change the temp, I have to take the cover of the unit.
Question: What does the "Low NOx Mean
Answer: Good place to check for info like this is Wikipedia. Here is what they say: Energy efficiencieseditMore tangible cost savings are defined when comparing the energy efficiencies of gas heaters with low NOx emissions with conventional flued types. Gas heaters with emission problems are flued and inherently lose substantial energies in the form of hot flue gases to the atmosphere. In addition, the choice of placement of flued heaters is greatly impaired due to flue installation restrictions. In contrast, dedicated low emission gas heaters do not require a flue system. Furthermore, with the introduction of oxygen depletion sensors and thermostatic controls, they do not place critical reliance on ventilation as previously was the case. These heaters can be positioned more conveniently and centralised to affect optimum warm air distribution. By definition unflued low NOx gas heaters are 100% efficient as all heat energy released from the flame is converted to useful heat.Hope this helps. June

User questions & answers

Question: How many BTUs
Answer: The expansion tank for this heater is not required. Most people already have these installed in their homes but if not then it would be Ok without it as there is a pressure relief valve on top if something happened. GlobalTowne is an authorized Bosch distributor.
Question: What recirculation pump will work with this heater
Answer: A standard flow shower head is around 2.5 gallons per minute. A low flow head is around 1.5 gallons per minute. The recovery rate for a 90 degree temperature rise is 6.8 gallons per hour! So even the 7.5 gallon unit would only provide 4 minutes of shower time before the temp dropped off dramatically. (even at the low flow rate..)
Question: What is wi-fi ready means and what what will you use it for ? also what circ-logic capable means? do you need recirculation pipe for it
Answer: If your bathtub is bigger than your main heater tank, this unit isn't going to do much for you. It will add 2.5, 4, or 7 gallons to the capacity of your main tank, depending on which Bosch unit you buy. The 7 gallon unit requires a specially wired circuit. You will also get a little bit of lukewarm water that was in the line between your main heater and the Bosch unit. Unless your main tank is awfully small and your bathtub massive, the 4 gallon unit should work for you. Maybe a demand type thankless heater in your bathtub hot water feed would be a better choice, but be careful to size it properly for your desired flow rate and temperature rise. Also a tankless is likely to require special wiring.
Question: Does this unit come with a vent kit? Thanks
Answer: When the tap is opened, the hot water in the unit flows out. The colder water that was sitting upstream of the unit, enters the unit to be heated. If the tap remains open, the newly heated water flows out, being replaced eventually, (depending on the distance to the main water heater), with the water from the main water heater. You will probably set the unit temperature to equal the main water heater temperature, if you want to keep a constant temperature, but other scenarios are possible.

User questions & answers

Question: does anyone have long periods of cold water when adjusting the water temp while showering

Question: will there be enough water for 2 or even 3 people taking showers at once
Answer: I live in eastern Massachusetts and this winter was exceptionally cold. This model was set at 120 degrees and easily provided hot water for 2 showers and the dishwasher at once. I am confident that it will handle 3 showers
Question: Can we use the same vent which is used with the old water heater tank. Outside roof vent cover can be used same existing
Answer: No. For this unit the exhaust is inside of a 2nd wall that is the fresh air intake Your old vent is also not big enough in diameter.
Question: If I get a bit too tipsy and pass out in the shower and wake up six hours later will I still have hot and toasty water
Answer: Yep. The water stays hot as long as you keep running water.

3 Smart Steps for Endless Hot Water

Step 1: Determining your average inlet water temperature is important, this allows you to determine how well your unit will perform in your desired location. A lower inlet water temperature will require a higher kilowatt product.

Step 2: Next you will determine how many applications your unit can run simultaneously at your chosen location inlet water temperature. Tankless electric water heaters are sized for maximum simultaneous use, not maximum fixtures in your home.

Step 3: Determining specifications and electrical infrastructure is important because without the correct infrastructure your unit may not fit into your breaker panel.

Product description

Rinnai 223176PP 12-Inch Condensing Horizontal Termination Kit

From the Manufacturer

Rinnai RCi Series Tankless Water Heaters utilize concentric venting with an inner pipe that is designed to withstand varying flue temperature conditions that may be experienced over the life of a condensing product. The Ubbink Rolux condensing concentric vent system is considered part of the direct vent tankless water heater, and has been tested and approved with the appliance by a third party testing agency.

  • Engineered especially for gas appliance venting
  • Positive fit and lock allows for installation assurance
  • Two layers of pipe equals two layers of protection
  • Seals at every joint expand and contract with weather and temperature changes, so there's no flexing or cracking in the venting
  • No flammable, messy or harmful glues, cements, or solvents are used

User questions & answers

Question: Is this kit compatible with the 65i
Answer: Unsure
Question: How to clean vent
Answer: There is no need for cleaning vent. It is protected from bugs and large pieces of dirt. If you need cleaning you can disassemble the kit or remove the external black part to get access for cleaning.
Question: Can the elbow be removed for a straight-in horizontal installation? If the elbow can be removed, can it be used elsewhere instead of buying another
Answer: The elbow can be removed. These vent systems are all just Rubber/PVC friction joints. These vent systems are manufactured by a Dutch company, Ubbink. The fittings are interchangeable so this elbow - with one male and one female connector - could be used elsewhere with the right matching parts.
Question: Does this have the 90 elbow with kit
Answer: It comes with 1 90 to be used inside the house. There is no 90 for the outside. The outside has that black outlet fixture built on the end. I bought an extra 90 as I thought I needed it for the outside. I have one to sell!

EcoSmart ECO 11 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 13KW at 240 Volts with Patented Self Modulating Technology

EcoSmart

Based on 2 reviews Check latest price

Product description

This Smart Technology electric tankless water heater is configured as a "whole home" model for climates where incoming water temperature is 67°F and above. This model is well suited for heating up to 2-Gallon per minute, which is the equivalent of one shower head (with a 1.5 gpm flow) and one sink with a low inlet water temperature of 67°F and an output setting of 105°F. Digital Temperature Control allows you to set your temperature in increments of 1 Degree. This model can also be used in colder climates as a Point of Use for a sink or other low flow application. All tankless water heaters are sized based on flow rate and temperature rise, and there is a direct relationship between the two. So if used in a cold area requiring a high temperature rise, it will be more limited in the amount of fixtures (gallons per minute) it can heat at one time compared to a warmer climate. When sized properly this water heater will provide endless hot water and only consume the energy needed, giving the user complete control. Prior to purchase and installation please verify this model is the right size for the expected demand and electrical requirements. The ECO 11 requires a minimum 125 amp electrical panel for installation with 60 amp double pole breaker connected to set of #6 awg wire. Plumbing connections are 1/2" compression fitting with the option of 1/2" NPT adapter included. For additional assistance please feel free to contact our support center at 877-474-6473.

NOTE : 11Kw at 220 is equal to 13kw at 240. .Activation Flow : 0.3 GPM

User questions & answers

Question: Ours has only been in service for less than a year - will not adjust temperature to anything above 85 Deg. F. What do you think is the problem ? kds
Answer: My only guess is that the rheostat (variable resistor) that the temperature adjustment knob is attached to may be faulty. If that isn't it then I don't know. Sorry.
Question: The warrenty says that this unit must be installed by a licensed electrician and plumber, for them to honor the "life time warrenty." why
Answer: Hello Bob, The reason is the same as why an innumerable number of gadgets around the world have that little "warranty void if removed" label. Because getting inside of one requires a certain level of training and expertise. Same with this unit. GadgetsGo is an authorized Ecosmart dealer. Kind regards,HenryGadgetsGo
Question: My house is wired 110V. What additional items do I need to purchase for the conversion
Answer: Just to expand slightly on prior answers, normally a residential service feed is 240 volts between the two incoming hot legs. There is also a neutral leg, which (hopefully) has zero potential with reference to ground. The voltage between either one of the hot legs and the neutral leg is 120 volts. The 120 volt circuits in your house are connected to one or the other of the two hot legs, and only one. An attempt is made to assign circuits to the two hot legs in a way that will roughly balance the load between them. The other side of a 120 volt circuit is connected to the neutral leg. There is additionally a safety ground run with the circuit, which also ties into the panel. Certain devices require more power (work product of current and voltage) than is practical to deliver using a 120 volt circuit. Common examples are your clothes dryer, and your electric stove. These devices are powered by both hot legs, with a difference in potential of 240 volts. This water heater is also such a device.STRONG BUT FRIENDLY WARNING: If you did not already know this, please don't make wiring this water heater your learning opportunity with electricity. Hire someone who knows how to do it right. Cutting corners, especially with higher currents and voltages, can lead to equipment damage, fire, and electrocution. Electricity is not magic, and you can certainly learn how to do many common wiring tasks safely on your own, but today is not the day to begin that journey. You need properly sized components, properly installed, and connected to an adequate service. Also, if you really, really foul up, you could conceivably wind up making that morning shower more energizing than you ever imagined, if you get what I mean. So newly aspiring electricians should go fix their grandmother's favorite table lamp instead. Once they have that working they can use it to to start reading books about electricity, residential wiring, and eventually, books about this stuff: http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_8?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=nec+code&sprefix=nec+code%2Caps%2C164 . Of course, you still have to know not to nick conductors when you strip them, and other trade craft like that ; ) . Like almost everything in life that is fun, electricity will hurt you. Sort of like all those people you dated for a while, and then wished later you had never met.
Question: what amp breaker is required
Answer: The National Electrical Code requires conductors and overcurrent protection to be sized at 100% of the manufacturer's branch circuit recommendation for tankless electric water heaters. A 60 amp breaker is the same price as a 40 or 50, it is the wire that costs more. #6 AWG wire is required for a 60 amp circuit. If you undersize the wire it could overheat and catch fire. Protect your family and follow the manufacturer's sizing for this, or any other, electrical device. Your family's lives are worth the extra money. 
