Answer:	No, there is nothing special that needs to be done as long as installation procedures are followed. You may want to flush the hose for a few minutes but that's about it.

Answer:	OH, this is quite simple! (I am a retired electronics technician) - It's only a problem if the extension cord you use is too light weight to handle the power the hose needs. Most household extension cords fall into this classification. If you must use an extension cord, be sure it is 12Ga (which is what is found in the walls of most homes), not 14 or, God Forbid! 16Ga (most household ext cords). 10Ga cords are hard to find, and VERY expensive and would be just a little over-kill. ALSO be sure it is a three prong cord. NEVER use a 'cheater' device to get around the three prong requirement - IT COULD KILL YOU!
Question:	What is the procedure for first use of the hose? The instructions don't have anything special
Answer:	I could not find your model. However, these anode rods usually have a standard thread and size (same as the plastic drain plug). You should check with the manufacturer of your water heater; the tank may be lined and it does not even require an anode rod.

Answer:	My experience wasn't positive as the hose I ordered LEAKED from in back of the coupling and no way to fix because the coupling is before the hose rubber gasket. I found the hose to be made cheaply for what I paid. I ended up using heat tape and covered that with those foam tubes, then over that I covered the foam tube with a silver bubble wrap used in insulation, was 1/8th thick, which did the job of keeping my winter hose warm with little electricity being used by the heat tape. Now heat tape uses about six to nine watts per foot per hour, and I cut my host to just what I needed for length, which was 9 feet, so my heat tape when on costs less then $10 per month. If your hose is 100 feet long the heat tape operating 24/7 can translate to an added monthly cost of $41 to $62, so it's important to cut your hose to just what works to reach from the water spigot to your RV, and shorter is better. You can find hardware to put a new end on your hose at most hardware stores and very simple to do. The more insulation you cover your hose with, the less time the heat tape is on! So insulation is the key to saving electricity from your batteries.

For example, it was 34 degrees here today, I plugged my hose in and it never de-ice my hose so I could use it, because, although my hose was frozen, the temperature was above freezing so the heating unit never gets activated.

Answer:	Hi Lisa, great question! Camco's Heated Water Hose has a Self-Regulating Heat Cable that has a special conductive core between the two bus wires. This core becomes more conductive during cold ambient conditions. This means it will get warmer in response to the cold temperatures. This feature makes it ideal for the freeze protection of exposed pipes in the winter. This type of cable will also decrease its power output (watts per lineal ft.), in warmer conditions, when the higher temperature will make the special core less conductive. Although it's called "self-regulating," this cable heater will NOT turn itself completely on or off. Compatibility

The TastePURE ½ inch ID Heated Drinking Water Hose has two heavy duty machined, nickel-plated female ends, with a male-to-male adapter included, so that you can have your plug on the supply or discharge end of hose. The power cord is 6' long, and consists of 16-AWG power cord with an illuminated LED indicator. Operates on 120VAC/120Watt, 250Watt, 500Watt.

How it Works

To use your Camco TastePURE Heated Drinking Water Hose, plug the 6-foot power cord into a power Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) receptacle or properly grounded outlet that is protected by a GFCI. Allow 15 minutes for hose to pre-heat before attempting to uncoil. Once hose has completed the 15 minute pre-heat and while remaining plugged into the power receptacle, carefully unwind and extend hose to its fully stretched out, extended length. Allow hose to continue to heat in its extended state for 30 minutes. This procedure will allow the internal heating cable to relax back to its natural state and allows the hose the lie flat. Once the hose relaxes into a flat, straight condition, you may proceed to the next step. Please note that this process can take up to one hour to complete. Once the hose has pre-heated and is lying flat, disconnect power cord from power supply, then connect hose to water source and to RV, mobile home or boat. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks. Once all leaks have been fixed, reconnect power cord to the power supply.

Question:	Can this hose be used for potable water
Answer:	I use mine for hot water in cleaning deep fryer. It is like a garden hose. I would guess that your could use it for drinking water if that's all you will use it for. Hope this helps Henry

Answer:	Don't know, but they're junk. The threads on the one I purchased were either defective or not standard compatible. It's a shame because it looked like a decent hose, but the connectors are very poor quality. Definitely not brass, some kind of a cheap alloy.

Answer:	No adapters needed. It hooks up great and has held up wonderfully..It hooks up fine to any outdoor faucet.

Question:	When light is on is heat tape on or off
Answer:	Yes. This was a great alternative to heat my water pipe in my pump house. Instead of using 300 watt heat lamps to heat the uninsulated pump house, this product allows me to heat just the water pipe with just 18 watts.
Question:	How high the temperature it can get
Answer:	It can be used on PEX supply piping provided the pipe is always full of water. If it is empty it can overheat.
Question:	does it have a 120 volt plug on end of cable
Answer:	I can’t see why not.
Question:	Can you use this on pex tubing
Answer:	Generally I find some hoses Leach things in the interior, lots of brass will leach lead. So its best to call up companies. I am looking to replace my water safe drinking hose which I think is only water safe if you live in an area that doesn't have warm temperatures because when I first turn on my hose it's foamy. I live in Florida so now I'm going to try poses that are also rated as hot water hoses. Hear tap water starts near 70° most of the year, including most of the winter.

Question:	Is this a 30 foot heat tape
Answer:	If it uses 7 watts per foot, then the longest 30 foot long cable would use 7x30=210watts. Divide by 1,000 = .21kW x 24 hours = 5.04 kWh per day X your electricity rate. Which in my area is $0.08 per kWh = a whopping $0.40 a day in electricity if it was on 24 hours continuously, which it wouldn't be unless it's -30 out and this isn't wrapped in pipe insulation. $3 a day, not even close.
Question:	is it thermostat controlled and if not, at what temperature will it be activated? there is existing pipe insulation can the cable go on top of it

Question:	what are the monthly expense to run
Answer:	The manufacturer of the cable does not publish the temperature of the cable. There are too many factors that effect it. It will get warm to the touch and warm enough to prevent a pipe from freezing
