Question:	What is the dimension of the opening
Answer:	Standard size, but I sent back the one I ordered. Seemed cheaply made and edge was already chipped when it arrived. Would do fine for a utility sink.

Answer:	I do not believe there is a smaller one . It must cover the chrome ring in the sink.
Question:	Is the item easy to use
Answer:	It is not intuitive to use. You have to read and follow the instructions. The flange comes with 2 rubber bands attached while in reality you have to remove one of them and potentially relocate the other band based on your garbage disposer's model. See my review below for additional details
