Step One: Attach

You start off by removing your DrainShroom from the handy stowaway bag that it comes with. Attach the quick-change shaft to any power drill (sold separately). Be sure to wear protective eye wear before operation. To prevent drains from clogging, we suggest using DrainShroom in your bathroom sink and tub drains every few months to keep them clean and clear.

Step Two: Insert

Insert the tip of your DrainShroom (the coil part) into your drain hole as deep as it can go prior to starting your power drill. Next, slowly apply forward power to your drill while pushing down on the coil with your off hand. The forward spinning and downward pressure will "snake" the coil deeper into the drain and grab any clumps of hair along the way.

Step Three: Caught!

Finally, move your off hand to the DrainShroom handle and continue to power forward on your drill while you push and pull your coil up and down in the drain. You can slowly remove the coil from the drain to check on the amount of hair that has been caught. Clean off the clumps of hair with a towel and put your DrainShroom in the carry bag for the next time you need it.

Question:	Is this manual? Or can I attach a drill at the end
Answer:	It can be used both manually or with a drill. I would not use it with a drill, it will break in short order. The place where the drill attaches is a metal plug surrounded by thin plastic and not sturdy at all. If you need an electric snake you would be better off getting a used Milwaukee unit on ebay, even though they are a little pricey, they will not break the second time you use it. I wouldn't even get this to use manually--the crank handle snaps into the plastic drum via clips and is not permanently attached--very flimsy. Get a sturdier crank model.
Question:	I need a 50 foot cable. Can I detach the 25 foot cable and attach a 50 foot cable
Answer:	Yes, I have installed a 50 ft 1/4" cable in mine. This Ridgid is more robust than most and the auto feed is a nice feature. But, do not leave more than 4-5 inches out from the drain opening while spinning. Go slow and easy when you come to an obstruction.
Question:	Does it have the ability to accept interchangable heads
Answer:	Hi. No you cannot use interchangeable head. The Cable and head are one unit. You can change the complete cable.
Question:	How will I know when the max cable length is reached? Does it stop turning or what
Answer:	I took mine apart to install a longer cable. The cable diameter is increased slightly at the end such that it will not feed out even if the trigger is pulled. Also at the end you will notice a red colored inner core, appears to be thin nylon cord. Lastly the very end is fastened to the inner housing with a screw and washer, plus increased diameter (again) to help prevent slipping out where it is fastened.

Answer:	I didn't, I just poured it directly into the sink and let it sit for a while and then flushed with hot water. It worked great for me. My sink wasn't completely clogged but was draining very, very slowly.

Answer:	It seems to me that, if you still need a plunger, the water and the Whink are still high in the pipe. In that case instead of using a plunger I would repeat the application of the Whink. If that does not work you should have a plumber snake the line. ( In some cases the snaking works better from the roof vent than from the sink.)

Question:	can it be used for toilet
Answer:	As an user of this water heater and living in a condominium building, i remember one occasion when the water supply was shut down for reason of repairing a pipe in the building and when the water pressure was no longer able to keep the heater full in its flow, the digital reading stopped working and no more hot water came out of it. How many psi was it? Who knows! I did not know, but i am thinking of buying another one, so that with using two elbows in the pipe, it will be positioned on the wall in such a manner, that i can shower my head.
Question:	Do I need an attachment to use a drill with this
Answer:	I guess it depends on how many dishes. I was able to find a sweet spot in the range of motion with the hand lever to where the flow rate was just adequate to keep pumping hot water indefinitely. It took a while to fill a small Ikea style bathroom sink. I was only washing coffee mugs. Another time, I did so for paint brushes. I don't see this as being adequate for a family kitchen sink, but for a single person or couple in a small living arrangement like an apartment or cabin or even I guess an RV connected to elec. There is a small chamber where the heating element is located, so I would never leave this faucet in a place that freezes in the winter (RV/ Cabin / etc).We've been using it in a workplace staff bathroom and its more than adequate. Except for a customer jammed the handle not knowing how to use it - now it leaks a bit. I think I can fix it.

Answer:	It appears to have a "US" plug, but you should NOT plan on using it in a standard outlet as found in US homes. Those are rated for 15 amps. If you divide the 2500 watts by 110 volts, you get 22.7 and that is the number of amps drawing from your 15-amp socket. If the socket you are going to use is wired for a non-standard 20-amps, that is fine. Normally, whatever you find in your home will be for 15 amps. You can verify that by looking in the power panel that contains the breakers. WARNING: It will work in a normal socket for a while, but a 15-amp breaker will overheat and probably trip!
