10 best wet tile saw

A wet tile saw is a specialized tool designed for cutting various types of tile, such as ceramic, porcelain, and stone. These saws are commonly used in the field of tile masonry and are particularly useful for precision cutting and shaping of tiles. Here are some key features and aspects of wet tile saws:

  1. Water Cooling System:

    • A distinctive feature of wet tile saws is their water cooling system. These saws use water to cool the blade during the cutting process, preventing overheating and ensuring smoother cuts.
    • The water also helps in reducing dust and debris, keeping the work area cleaner.
  2. Diamond Blades:

    • Wet tile saws typically use diamond blades. Diamond is a hard material that is effective for cutting through tough surfaces like ceramic and stone.
    • The blades are available in different sizes and configurations to accommodate various types of tile and cutting needs.
  3. Precision Cutting:

    • Wet tile saws are known for their ability to make precise cuts, including straight cuts, bevel cuts, and even intricate shapes.
    • This precision is crucial in tile work, where accurate cuts are essential for achieving a professional and polished appearance.
  4. Electric Power:

    • These saws are powered by electricity and are available in various sizes and power ratings. Some are portable for smaller jobs, while others are more robust for professional use.
  5. Adjustable Features:

    • Many wet tile saws come with adjustable features such as blade depth and angle adjustments, allowing for customization based on the specific requirements of the project.
  6. Usage Recommendations:

    • It's important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for proper usage and safety precautions. This includes wearing appropriate safety gear, such as goggles and gloves.
  7. Maintenance:

    • Regular maintenance, including cleaning the water reservoir and ensuring the proper functioning of the water pump, is essential for the longevity and efficiency of the wet tile saw.
  8. Application:

    • Wet tile saws are commonly used by tile masons, contractors, and DIY enthusiasts for projects like installing floor and wall tiles, creating decorative tile elements, and more.

When using a wet tile saw, it's crucial to prioritize safety and follow the guidelines provided by the manufacturer. Additionally, choosing the right type of blade for the specific tile material is essential for achieving the best results.

User questions & answers

Question: this saw comes w/a diamond blade. would it be good enough to cut little glass mosaic tiles or should I order a different diamond blade
Answer: The blade will cut through the glass tiles just fine, however, I would suggest purchasing a thinner more durable blade. I purchased a Ridgid 7" blade from Home Depot. The Ridgid blade make cleaner cuts and wastes less material because it is a thinner blade. Also, Skil just came out with a new updated model of this saw. I would suggest purchasing that saw instead because it has some much needed improvements. Here is some information on the new saw: https://www.skiltools.com/Tools/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?model=3550-01.
Question: What is the biggest size of tile this saw can be used for to do diagonal cuts
Answer: am sure you can cut even 24x24 in. tile. to cut straight get 1x1x 20--24 in, wood and clamp under the table as your guide to cut straight, hope this will help. skil power tools are great and cheaper than MK
Question: Would this be a good saw to cut rocks in half
Answer: Depends on the size of the rock. The material is not an issue -- I use it to cut agates and quartz up to a couple inches in size. The important thing is to go slow and make sure to keep the cut wet.
Question: Will this saw cut peanut brittle? We are currently struggling with the batch we just made and we need to find a good way to cut it
Answer: i'M SORRY, BUT NO THIS WILL NOT CUT THE BRITTLE. this saw was designed for tile, brick and old tootsie rolls only. the reason tht is, the hamsters in the the motor are allergic to peanuts and a few other foods. seeing as how we all love fluffy hamsters, they gave them work instead of turning them away( that and hamsters have a ton of kids!!). the saw you are looking for has gophers in the drive motor( 2 x's the power for those thick piece's of brittle), that have been thoroughly screened for any deadly allergies to tree nuts and dairy, not to mention sock puppets and shoe polish as well. i do suggest that if you are going to buy the gopher powered brittle slicer 3000xlr made by Skill'dG( skilled gophers), to make sure you are getting the real thing, and not a cheap australian clone. contact the gopher union work force development office and they will give you a list of all non gopher supported and wallaby knock offs and a wallet sized card for easy recognition of their branded products. They may ask for a donation, but it's well worth the $120 to join their non members club. You get free holes in your green, and much, much more. Good luck on your quest, and may the spork be with you.

User questions & answers

Question: how thick will this cut
Answer: I would say 1:4, if you are cutting porcelain that thick take it slow, natural stone will cut easier. I highly recommend this saw, I use it for small jobs, it’s really great in tight spaces. In my opinion it’s the better of the smaller wet saws as I prefer a rolling table for more accurate cuts. I however use an MK on my bigger jobs and large format tile and stone and it’s a beast with no limitations but cost about 10x what this saw cost. I do a lot of baths and kitchens and I love it!
Question: Alway problems substituting other brand blades - and can't find PC replacement blades - can anyone confirm good to excellent substitute
Answer: I've tried several after market blades with this saw. The problem I've experienced is the original PC blade produces a slightly wider cut, allowing the tile to get past the guard support in the back. The blades I've tried produce a thinner cut that prevent the tile from passing around the guard support. I'll try the Pearl P4 7 inch to see if it works, although 50$ is a gamble I'd rather not bet on.
Question: Can this saw cut glass tiles
Answer: It can cut glass but without buying a blade specifically for glass tiles you might be disappointed. Every tile installer I know has several different blades always on hand for the abundance of materials thrown at him. Glass Master is a good glass blade and manual cutters often do excellent. With the stock blade you will get some chipping along the cut. Which could be polished out with extra effort. If you can handle chipping go for it.
Question: Does this saw do miter cuts? Can you angle the blade, or the table
Answer: Yes, this table saw does simple mitre cuts. The blade is fixed. The table is fixed (does not angle for a compound mitre cut). The product is positioned on the (right) cutting cart that feeds the tile to the blade. The saw comes with a miter square for basic angle cuts.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this saw cut Porcelain tile
Answer: With the proper blade any wet saw will cut porcelain. Buy a good blade and use a saw with the blade mounted above the tile rather than below.
Question: What is the distance between the blade and the arm
Answer: Definitely a challenge to cut large format tiles such as 12x24. If you have to cut lengthwise you have to let the tile sit long towards you over the square edge and use the clamp to keep it straight, that sorta works and if you have to cut a 12x24 in half at more than 9" you are -sol- out of luck, it will not work. The only work around is wasting a chunk of tile by cutting 9" off (and hoping that you can still use that part somewhere) and then cutting off another chunk so you get to your desired length. MK could have made the tray wider by three inches.
Question: how would this saw work for cutting rock and minerals for lapidary work? thanks
Answer: I guess it would work depending on the size of the stones. They couldn't be too big. I would use a table type tile saw where the blade sticks up thru a slot. It would give more freedom of movement.
Question: Can you use a 6 in blade on this unit
Answer: No a six-inch blade will not reach the table

Question: Does this machine come already assembled
Answer: All tapcon screws require the correct size pilot hole be made first. After that depending on the size you may not even need any drill.
Question: Will this saw cut slate roof tiles
Answer: Xbox is the drill only . No batteries or kit.
Question: What is the arbor size on this saw
Answer: I don't think so, but I have not tried!
Question: Can you cut a 21in tile
Answer: It is better to use a hammer drill and special masonry drills for concrete. This drill would do it slowly and might wear out the masonry drill faster.
