Answer:	I bought a new one today from a lumberyard and it is a Type 1. (says right on the sticker on the motor) Not sure if that means the slide mechanism is better or worse than the Type 20. I would assume it was made in 2014 because there is a "Dewalt use only" tag on the box which starts with 2014. Not sure if a "fresher" saw is a Type 20

Answer:	mmToolparts actually sells a kit (3 proprietary DeWalt parts + their wiring harness) for less than $70. They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.

Answer:	It does not come with any laser for guidance. You may find my answer a bit crude, I've been using miter saws for many years and the best guiding system I found to work is my/your eyes. Having lasers or no lasers you still need to use your eyes to get the work piece spot on near the cutoff point. Hope this helps!

Answer:	You can add the LED light to this saw. Not a laser but a shadow light that show exactly where the saw blade will cut. I just did it last night. Parts can be had for about $70. This basically turns it into a model 780 which is much more expensive. Pretty simple to add.

There are round countersunk holes for use with screws and square holes for use with the miter saw stand "carraige bolt" or M8 (5/16") or smaller bolts. Use either hole, it is not necessary to use both. Always mount your saw firmly to prevent movement. To enhance the tool’s portability, it can be mounted to a piece of 1/2" (12.7 mm) or thicker plywood which can then be clamped to your work support or moved to other job sites and reclamped. NOTE: If you elect to mount your saw to a piece of plywood, make sure that the mounting screws don’t protrude from the bottom of the wood. The plywood must sit flush on the work support. When clamping the saw to any work surface, clamp only on the clamping bosses where the mounting screw holes are located. Answer:	The Garibaldi Biscuits I recently received have an expiration date of July 2017, and I received them in September 2016. That's a long shelf life. Perhaps by the phrase "so stale", you may be referring to the crumbly nature of these biscuits. The biscuit part is a little thicker, and a little more crumbly than the old "Sunshine Raisin Biscuits" that were discontinued long ago. If by "stale" you mean crumbly, yes they are. I suggest eating them over a paper plate or over a sink - definitely NOT on the couch without a plate underneath.

Answer:	I tried DW's 780 model last year on a small commercial job and it just sucked. Well, it didn't suck in one respect, namely dust collection, which was the worst I've seen on a modern tool. As bad, the dual sliding tubes had stiction built-in so you got a very jerky action when pulling the saw forward or pushing it back. The thing was terrible in a few other respects as well, and I returned it to the leading big box store under their branded credit card return policy. I have an older DW 12" miter saw that I've had since it was new about 13 years ago and it's only a little better. I'm going to try a Makita pretty soon and will seel the old, inaccurate, troublesome-since-new DW. I like their battery tools but I'm all done with their plug-in stuff.

Question:	Is the current model that is shipping type 1 or type 20. If you look up the parts diagram the type 20 has a different slide mechanism part number
Answer:	I bought a new one today from a lumberyard and it is a Type 1. (says right on the sticker on the motor) Not sure if that means the slide mechanism is better or worse than the Type 20. I would assume it was made in 2014 because there is a "Dewalt use only" tag on the box which starts with 2014. Not sure if a "fresher" saw is a Type 20
Question:	Can xps be added, i know dewalt makes a kit to add it to some saws, but this model was not listed
Answer:	mmToolparts actually sells a kit (3 proprietary DeWalt parts + their wiring harness) for less than $70. They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.
Question:	Does this miter saw come with a laser or any guiding system
Answer:	It does not come with any laser for guidance. You may find my answer a bit crude, I've been using miter saws for many years and the best guiding system I found to work is my/your eyes. Having lasers or no lasers you still need to use your eyes to get the work piece spot on near the cutoff point. Hope this helps!
Question:	Is there an LED cut line
Answer:	You can add the LED light to this saw. Not a laser but a shadow light that show exactly where the saw blade will cut. I just did it last night. Parts can be had for about $70. This basically turns it into a model 780 which is much more expensive. Pretty simple to add.

Answer:	I'm not aware of any movement of the laser as you are lowering the saw down. Although the purpose of the laser is to be able to cut a mark line when the saw is in upright position.

Answer:	Yes they are included, they are attached to the saw. Loosen the thumb screw and slide them out.
Question:	As of Mar 2018, Does it still cut an arc when sliding, as opposed to a straight line
Answer:	Mine does not. Be careful with damaged packaging and saw impact

Answer:	The laser is on one line only and it can be switched left or right of the blade. There is a separate ON/OFF switch for the laser
