Answer:	Yes, if you make 2 cuts. The only saw I know of that will do it in 1 cut is a Chop saw with a 12" blade. Or a Radial arm saw. But it needs a 12' blade too.

Answer:	You can get it without the track. If 55 inch is too long, purchase the bare saw and use the savings to purchase their 39 inch track or Festool's 32 inch track. For smaller projects 55 inch is awkward to work with.

Answer:	I've not used the festool, but held it many times. This saw is the equaL Had mine for 3 years now. Nothing wrong with the Festool, but a cult following that allows for a greatly inflated price. i chose not to play

Answer:	Yes. But that's an "expensive" circular saw. Moreover, it wouldn't be using it to it's best advantage as what it's made for - riding in the track (the track usually cost additional OR you have to buy an additional 55" track to add to the 1 track they sell you so that you can cut full sheets of plywood). The benefit of using "track saws" is that when they are riding in the rail guides they are "captured" and don't veer off the cut line. As I posted in previously -if you buy the Makita plunge saw - get additional blades for general purpose use or ripping because it comes with a fine tooth blade which is basically only good for 3/4" or so plywood or wood and you'll burn up the Makita motor (like I did!!!!). The Makita is allegedly the most powerful of the tracksaws @ 12 amp (the others are 10 amps). However, my circular saw is 15 amps.These "tracksaws" or "plunge saws" are good for their limited use - but that use is great depending on what you're making. I would buy a cheap circular saw for general circular saw use (ie. a Skil) and keep the plunge saws for "fine" cutting.

Answer:	We do not recommend modifications on our tools as they are designed to work as is. If you are meaning plugging it in to a 8 outlet powers strip: that is not recommended. This unit should be plug into a direct outlet of using the appropriate extension cord ( VOLTS, LENGTH and WIRE GAUGE)
Question:	What are the dimensions of the unit on the stand when closed up. WxHxD? Need to know if it will fit in the storage cubby I have in the garage
Answer:	Laid down flat - 27 1/2" wide, 46" long (you can take about 3" off this by using the shorter handle length slots), 25" high with rail on (21 1/2" with it off). You can stand it up or lay it down - either works.
Question:	Does this saw accept dado blade set
Answer:	Yes, you will need the Dado Throat Plate which is DeWalt Part Number DWE7402D1. Per DeWalt, do not attempt to stack dado blades thicker than 13/16" (20 mm). Do not use dado blades larger than 8" (200 mm) diameter. Since dado cuts are not thru-cuts, the cuts must be performed with the blade guard assembly removed. To remove the blade guard assembly, pull riving knife/blade guard release lever and pull up on the guard or riving knife to remove. When using the dado, the special dado insert (also sold as an accessory) must be used.
Question:	How good would this saw be for a beginning woodworker on a limited budget
Answer:	It's a great saw. It has some safety features that I love. If you have a limited budget I would recommend that you stave for a couple of days and buy this saw. It is bulky and it's gonna cost you a little over $600 out the door but it's worth it. Remember when buying tools try to buy the best you can find. You don't want a cheap tool to stop working in the middle of the day.

Answer:	With the foot activator mounted on the inside the foot print measures 27" x 21.5". With the activator on the outside the measurements are 33.5" x 21.5". These were measured at the floor level. The fiber board table top is 23" x 20". I hope this helps.

Answer:	Smooth. It slides twice on two sets of bars. I have used their 10" saw for years. I bought this for trim work but it will cut 2x all day. I haven't used the 10" since I bought this one. You will love it.

Answer:	Yes you can. Use a 1/4” Masonite or plywood to bump out the fence to take care of the 1/4”. The smaller blade won’t cut all the way through if you don’t. Works fine for me. And yes it’s easier and cheaper to get the standard 7 1/4” blades than the special 7 1/2”s from Makita.

Answer:	Hey Beverly, Just measured it. It's exactly 39 inches tall. 34 inches in diameter. The stools we got to go with it are 29 inches tall and are leather topped. Overall it really is a great set. It was interesting when I was researching these how wildly the prices differed. Seriously, it looks great. People always comment how good it looks and I have to laugh because of the low price. My kids eat breakfast at it every day and love it. Hope this helps with your decision!! Jennifer

Saw features a Makita-built 15 AMP industrial motor that delivers 4,500 RPM, combined with well-balanced magnesium components for a lighter weight saw that delivers true power the professional user demands. Users will benefit from the precision-machined hypoid gears, which deliver more constant power than worm drive gears. Hypoid gears have greater surface contact so more power is transferred over a wider surface, providing increased power and durability. In addition, hypoid gears are in an oil bath for consistent oil coverage. The saw has a large cutting capacity (2-3/8” at 90°) with a maximum bevel capacity of 51.5° and positive stops at 22.5°, 45° and 51.5° for quick back-and-forth changes.
