Question:	where can I get more belts
Answer:	Pretty sure you can find replacement belts on Amazon. I have seen them there. I cannot recall the size of the belt offhand (1/2 x 18?) but that is what you would want to search for. The ones I saw were made by another manufacturer.

Answer:	I was a professional carpenter, served a 4 year apprenticeship, have worked on residential, commercial and industrial projects, including hardwood floor refinishing. I retired from the trade in 1989 (it sure doesn't seem that long ago!). In short, this is a great sander, but it will not work for what you want. Go to a rental store and rent the appropriate equipment. Above all, have a top notch vacuum at your disposal.
Question:	Can the filer handle sanding a small plastic while a very small amount of continuous stream of water is pouring over the sample, for cooling
Answer:	Don't believe the unit is made for water cooling.. Water may be thrown into the motor. You might be better off looking for a different cooling agent. Air for example?

Answer:	It would handle it fine. It actually has good power and won't bog down if you need to press into it. Just have the right grit for the material removal rate you want. I bought it for refinishing a steel part with 220 and 600

Answer:	Yes it can be, but you will likely have to attach it to a board first, then screw the board down. The bolt holes are positioned such that it's difficult to access them dirctly.

Answer:	Most disc sanders are glue on, you don’t want the play hook and loop gives. I guess it would depend on what your using it for.

Answer:	NOPE. Probably Taiwan, Wilton Still has a few that are made in the US, but those are marked as so. See Willton 28831 (a 4" vise that +$700) and that says "Proudly Made in the USA" . Where this is a Bigger Vise at 25% the price, and doesn't mention USA anywhere........ Take a wild guess.
Question:	Is this unit the standard old style Jet creme colored or grey? Most other sites including the Jet website show it in a much better looking grey color
Answer:	The 4800R mounting base has mounting holes with 6.0” centers (left to right) and 6.5” centers (front to back). Of course you could mount the base “sideways” and rotate/lock the vise 90° which would flip-flop the centers (ie. 6.5” LtoR; 6.0” FtoB).

Answer:	This is a great tool for a vast variety of jobs. very powerful, but you at not going to run this tool very long on a small pancake type compressor. a minimum requirement would be a least 3 hp with 40 gal tank for regular home owner use. 5 hp two stage would be better. if you don't have the air this tool will not perform as intended. Answer:	I have had my Rikon for about 6 months, and have used it a lot. I still have the original sanding disc on it. It definately has served my needs. No negative comments on this tool.

Answer:	If you put too much pressure the material will break. It mostly for the stronger metals. We have used it for aluminum but again we don't put a lot of pressure. Hope this helps. It's a great sander and haven't had any problems

Answer:	It does not work on mine. The holes are in the right place, but the screws are too long. I tried to fix it by putting some washers in, but no luck. Useless to me.
Question:	I just purchased a 9031 sander on amazon thru ujc mart japan, when it arrived the affixed spec tag on the sander indicates it is a 100 volt version
Answer:	It,s a complete backing base pad and hook and loop.Mine completley wore out the pad this is a repair part that fixed the problem
Question:	Can the platen be easily removed for use as a slack belt sander
Answer:	I don't know. I searched online for the backing plate # in the owners manual with my model number. That's how I found that it would fit it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck.

User questions & answers

Question:	How powerful is it. Does it bog down when putting moderate pressure against the belt or disk. Also does it run true with little to no wobble
Answer:	1) With moderate pressure, it does not bog down. With heavy pressure it slows a bit, but I have not found that to be problematic. However, so you know, I use it with 1/2 in wide belts, so there would be a bit more drag with 1 in belts. 2) There is no significant wobble. It runs true. 3) The only problem I found was a slightly uneven platen, but I was able to bend it back true.
Question:	Is the motor loud when running with nothing being sanded? How would you compare it to a corded 3/8" drill
Answer:	It's not the quietest sander but if I had to rate the noise level on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the quietest and 10 being the loudest, I would give it an 8 with just the motor running.
Question:	Does anyone know the rpm and amps for it
Answer:	Mine says 2.3 amps and belt speed- 3340 rpm (no load) and disc speed 3350 rpm (no load).
Question:	Can you use this sander to sand metal if you buy the right sand paper or is it just for wood
Answer:	Yes you can use this sander to sand metal. I purchased this sander specifically to sharpen knifes and metal cutting tools, just make sure to use the right sand paper.
