Question:	Does it have a universal motor? could i hook a router speed control to it and can i rewire it to run in reverse
Answer:	you do not want to rewire this to go the opposite way as it will shoot your grinder dust to the floor. If you reverse its direction it will end up with the possibility of your workpiece flying into your face rather then the ground.
Question:	Can the belt track far enough to the left and right to do plunge cuts for knife bevels
Answer:	Not exactly. I can't adjust the belt to track to thee left of the platen enough to get a good even plunge line on the right side. I radioactive with Dymalux birch composite knife scales to warm up before i work with steel slabs but I can't ever get a good even lunge on each side. Dymalux is layered colors so it it easy to observe your work on the grinds. This Plamgren needs a way to track the belt left and right. I also find the platen feel a bit bumpy feting. I would switch it out to glass or ceramic.

Answer:	On a scale of 1-10, I would put it's loudness at about a 4 or 5. It's not exactly 'quiet,' but I can play music on my shop speaker at a reasonable volume, and still be able to hear it while sanding/grinding.On a related note - this is an AMAZING sander! It's a little on the pricey side, but worth every penny. I've done precision work on it with everything from hardwood to bone/antler, to high-carbon steel (scale and all)

Answer:	Shop Fox is the manufacturer. It's made in China but I love mine. I use it for knife making and it is a great, cheap entry level 2x72 grinder. Bonus, you get a buffer at the same time. It's super easy to change the belts and the buffer wheels. You just need to get some good quality belts and some 6 inch wheels. The work rest is small so I modified mine and made it larger. It has plenty of power.

Answer:	I measured sander and went to home depot and bought a husky tool box. it was a snug fit and the bag had to be taken off to get it in. I would buy a bigger box 2 inches wider, deeper and longer than the sander for it to fit easier and to hold extra sand paper.

Answer:	The dust collection works. How good is a matter of opinion. When sanding a floor the dust bag routinely had to be emptied and the floor had surface dust that needed to be vacuumed. I wore a mask buy didn't feel that there was much dust circulating.

Step 1, Select the required grade of sanding belt.

Step 2, Pull the belt tension lever

Step 3, When attaching a sander paper, please slip a sanding belt by the direction of arrow shows on the sander.

Step 4, Fold down the lever

Step 5, While the belt is running slowly, adjust the tracking adjustment knob to align the belt to the centre of the roller.

Do not continue to use the sander with a sanding belt that is overworn or damaged. Do not use the same sanding belt for wood and metal. Metal particles become embedded in the belt and will scour a wooden surface.

Question:	How powerful is it. Does it bog down when putting moderate pressure against the belt or disk. Also does it run true with little to no wobble
Answer:	1) With moderate pressure, it does not bog down. With heavy pressure it slows a bit, but I have not found that to be problematic. However, so you know, I use it with 1/2 in wide belts, so there would be a bit more drag with 1 in belts. 2) There is no significant wobble. It runs true. 3) The only problem I found was a slightly uneven platen, but I was able to bend it back true.
Question:	Is the motor loud when running with nothing being sanded? How would you compare it to a corded 3/8" drill
Answer:	It's not the quietest sander but if I had to rate the noise level on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the quietest and 10 being the loudest, I would give it an 8 with just the motor running.
Question:	Does anyone know the rpm and amps for it
Answer:	Mine says 2.3 amps and belt speed- 3340 rpm (no load) and disc speed 3350 rpm (no load).
