Correct your paint with control

You never want to start out on a very high speed setting. You want to start out low, then progress to the speed require to polish your paint & buff our those swirls scratches. Most swirl mark removals can be achieved at speed setting 3 or 4 on the adjustable speed dial, with the higher speed 5 and 6 left for heavier scratches.

Prep Your Paint

Car Wash:

Before attempting anything, you need to wash your car thoroughly. You need to remove as much of the road dirt, dust, and grime as you can before you begin to polish or wax. To remove any existing waxes or sealants, use Adam's Strip Wash. If not, use Adam's Car Shampoo or Mega Foam for optimal cleaning results.

Remove Contamination With Clay Bar or Clay Mitt:

With a clean car that is free from waxes and sealants, it’s time to move on to the next stage of paint decontamination which is claying. This is all the stuff that sticks to your paint, but won’t come off in the normal washing process. The claying process is very important, and it needs to be done with care.

Tape:

The final step in prepping your vehicle for polishing is taping of edges and panels. Tape helps to protect delicate materials and edges that could potentially get damaged if they come in contact with the buffer.

Prep Your Swirl Killer

When using Adam's Swirl Killer, you'll want to spin the pad freely on the tool and hit it with a pad cleaning brush to knock out any loose material that may remain from the manufacturing process to avoid it kicking out early during the buffing process.

Priming a clean, dry pad is considered the best approach for using Adam's Swirl Killer Polisher because it ensures the working surface of the pad is wet with product. This is important when working at maximum efficiency as the polisher hits your paint.

Priming the pad also ensures that you don't have any dry portion of the pad working over the paint un-lubricated. This really isn't a risk because since you're just starting out you're going to be removing defects a lot more serious than would be caused by any portion of the pad that is dry and spinning against the paint.

Once the pad is primed, center the backing plate on the pad and begin polishing. Our Swirl Killers are equipped with speed gauges. We recommend starting at speeds 1-3.

Remove Swirls & Scratches

When polishing your vehicle, work in left to right and top to bottom motions. 50% overlap per pass. Once you've polished out all swirls and scratches

remove residue with Detail Spray and a plush microfiber towel.

Answer:	You can move the handle to either side and an electrician can change the leads to the motor for you to reverse it...just stay north of the equator.
Question:	can this product be used to polish my aluminum boat hull and if so how
Answer:	I think a reciprocating saw with a blade for cutting steel or cast iron would be better. I think the angle grinder would probably have the torque to do it but you would definitely need to get some better cutting wheels. these abrasive wheels are only good for grinding not cutting.
Question:	Does it come with pads? If so which ones
Answer:	The thread size is 5/8" for threaded wire brush wheel etc. but the flange that locks cutting and grinding wheels takes 7/8". Pretty standard for 4.5" angle grinders. Hope this helps
Question:	what is the difference in model 3100 and model
Answer:	I just took delivery of one of these as was shocked that the instruction manual explicitly states, "This power tool is intended to function as a grinder ... Operations such as sanding, wire-brushing, polishing or cutting-off are not recommended"!! Holy cow! It mentions this in several places and doesn't cover installing, say, a cut-off or cup disc. Who buys one of these and doesn't expect to do these things??

Question:	When to much pressure ia applied does head stop ? Is the disc head hook & loop connect for pads
Answer:	The Speed Clay 2.0 has an expected lifespan of 20 vehicles, and it is a permanently bonded one-piece design to provide enhanced durability, so the pad is not replaceable.
Question:	Can a different backing pad be used on this polisher or is permanent
Answer:	It's pretty harmless if you wash your car first and use plenty of "clay lube" or a spray wax product with good lubricity (slippery) and NO pressure. the Clay 2.0 puck will feel like a hockey puck on ice, no drag or only a very little drag, if the panel is properly lubricated. As my panel "dried out" due to pushing the Turtle Wax Ice Seal 'n' Shine I was using as lubricant, I could feel more drag and immediately re-sprayed that portion of the panel. Also periodically you need to "clean" the "clay" pad by dipping it in water or spraying it heavily with your clay lube until it drips off. A dirty car even a few hours of dust is NOT ok. I used a waterless car wash and microfiber first, even though I had washed the car the day before. Also I personally feel it is safer to remove any spots (sap, tar, etc.) FIRST with lots of the waterless car wash and diligent but careful use of a clean side of my microfiber. Basically you only want this clay substitute to remove those little gritty feeling spots on the auto panels that remains after a normal car wash (or waterless car wash) and spray waxing. It is NOT a car cleaning tool, except for that last invisible grit that only comes off with a clay bar.
Question:	Is this hook or loop or sticky back type need to know so I can’t buy the correct pads for it thanks
Answer:	I found this product was not worth the amount of time and effort to use. Get a good cleaning compound/wax and good finishing wax and you're all set. Lest time and work for same result.

Answer:	Nope. I did notice that step 2 left a little bit of yellowish dust, but a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth took care of that.

There is no immediate necessity to the function of your vehicle having a better finish, however, it greatly extends the life and value of your prized possession. Over time, paint becomes oxidized with the outside elements and can become sun-faded, all the while taking impacts from improper washing and road contamination. Machine polishing allows you to move the precision tool across your paint, heating up the clear coat substrate beneath it to move the imperfections over one another to create a perfect finish. The machine speed, the compound, the type of pad… all are elements that create different stages of perfection to make your vehicle shine as if it was new.

A long throw polisher like the Adam’s Swirl Killer is a dual-action machine polisher that oscillates and shakes the backing plate and polishing pad in many directions in quick motions, several thousand times per minute. The movement mimics how our hand moves in an irregular circular pattern when polishing or waxing a surface by hand. Dual-action polishers differ from rotary buffers in that rotary buffers have fixed rotation and spin only in a circular motion without oscillating the pad. Dual-action means it has two paths of rotation, one axis of a drive from the motor, and the other to freely spinning over your paintwork. Rotary buffers are rated in Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) as opposed to Oscillations Per Minute (OPM) of a Long Throw Dual Action Polisher.

Prep Your Paint

Car Wash:

Before attempting anything, you need to wash your car thoroughly. You need to remove as much of the road dirt, dust, and grime as you can before you begin to polish or wax. To remove any existing waxes or sealants, use Adam's Strip Wash. If not, use Adam's Car Shampoo or Mega Foam for optimal cleaning results.

Remove Contamination With Clay Bar or Clay Mitt:

With a clean car that is free from waxes and sealants, it’s time to move on to the next stage of paint decontamination which is claying. This is all the stuff that sticks to your paint, but won’t come off in the normal washing process. The claying process is very important, and it needs to be done with care.

Tape:

The final step in prepping your vehicle for polishing is taping of edges and panels. Tape helps to protect delicate materials and edges that could potentially get damaged if they come in contact with the buffer.

Prep Your Swirl Killer

When using Adam's Swirl Killer, you'll want to spin the pad freely on the tool and hit it with a pad cleaning brush to knock out any loose material that may remain from the manufacturing process to avoid it kicking out early during the buffing process.

Priming a clean, dry pad is considered the best approach for using Adam's Swirl Killer Polisher because it ensures the working surface of the pad is wet with product. This is important when working at maximum efficiency as the polisher hits your paint.

Priming the pad also ensures that you don't have any dry portion of the pad working over the paint un-lubricated. This really isn't a risk because since you're just starting out you're going to be removing defects a lot more serious than would be caused by any portion of the pad that is dry and spinning against the paint.

Once the pad is primed, center the backing plate on the pad and begin polishing. Our Swirl Killers are equipped with speed gauges. We recommend starting at speeds 1-3.

Remove Swirls & Scratches

When polishing your vehicle, work in left to right and top to bottom motions. 50% overlap per pass. Once you've polished out all swirls and scratches

remove residue with Detail Spray and a plush microfiber towel.
