Question:	How do you tell which way the motor rotates? From the front or rear of the motor
Answer:	The most important thing is to match the RPM speed of your existing fan. I purchased this fan because it was cheaper but had a higher RPM than the one I was replacing. It would pull too many amps and overheat. I had to bend the fan blades to a shallower pitch to push less air.
Question:	This motor has two identical wires coming from it. Does it matter which one connects to hot and which one connects to neutral in an AC circuit
Answer:	You can, but this motor has twice the horsepower rating of the 773, and it runs at a higher RPM, which means it'll make more noise & use more electricity. Generic motors like these are most useful on older equipment where the exact specs are unavailable, it's an 'emergency' repair or the original parts are out of manufacture. I'd spend the extra money to get the right part as the 773's are still available. Replacing the run capacitor when you replace the motor is highly recommended. Good luck!

Answer:	The shaft is about 2 3/4" long. The flattened part is about 1 1/2" long. For my use, I had to grind the flat spot back another inch for the blower I was putting on it. The mounting studs sticking out from the motor are about 1/2" long, so if whatever you're putting on the shaft has a large radius, it can't be closer than that to the end of the motor.
