9 best stanley framing nailers

Stanley is a well-known brand in the realm of power tools and home improvement, including the production of framing nailers. Framing nailers are powerful pneumatic or cordless tools used primarily in construction and woodworking for quickly and securely driving large nails (typically known as framing nails) into various materials like wood and, occasionally, other softer building materials. Here's some information about Stanley framing nailers:

  1. Variety of Models: Stanley offers a range of framing nailers designed for different applications and user preferences. They produce both pneumatic and cordless framing nailers to accommodate various needs and work environments.

  2. Pneumatic Framing Nailers: Stanley's pneumatic framing nailers are powered by compressed air and require an air compressor for operation. They are known for their reliability, power, and consistent performance on construction sites.

  3. Cordless Framing Nailers: Stanley also manufactures cordless framing nailers, which are powered by rechargeable batteries. These tools offer greater mobility and flexibility, as they don't require an air hose and compressor. Cordless framing nailers are ideal for remote job sites or situations where portability is crucial.

  4. Framing Nail Compatibility: Stanley framing nailers are typically compatible with a range of framing nail sizes and types, allowing users to choose the appropriate nails for their specific project requirements.

  5. Depth Adjustment: Many Stanley framing nailers feature depth adjustment settings, allowing users to control how deeply the nails are driven into the material. This feature helps prevent over-penetration and ensures a secure and flush nail placement.

  6. Sequential and Bump Firing: Stanley framing nailers often have selectable firing modes, including sequential and bump firing.Sequential firing requires a deliberate trigger pull for each nail, while bump firing allows for rapid nail placement with continuous trigger activation.

  7. Durability: Stanley is known for producing durable and robust tools. Their framing nailers are designed to withstand the rigors of construction sites and heavy-duty use.

  8. Comfort and Ergonomics: These nailers are often designed with user comfort in mind, featuring ergonomic handles and grips to reduce operator fatigue during extended use.

  9. Safety Features: Stanley places a high priority on safety. Many of their framing nailers include safety mechanisms to prevent accidental firing, such as trigger locks or anti-dry fire systems.

  10. Warranty and Support: Stanley typically offers warranties and customer support for their tools, providing peace of mind to users in case of any issues or defects.

In summary, Stanley framing nailers are reliable and versatile tools used in construction and woodworking. They come in various models, including pneumatic and cordless options, and offer features like depth adjustment, different firing modes, and safety mechanisms. These tools are known for their durability and are commonly used by professionals and DIY enthusiasts for framing, sheathing, and other heavy-duty nailing tasks.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it shoot 2 3/8 in X.113 nails
Answer: It depends on which plan you want to make. Go to their website and look under "Jig and Fixture Components - Build-It-System" and find the one you want. I built a Bridged Crosscut Box, that required some additional parts from INCRA and some wood and screws for the fence and bridge. This needed the starter kit plus 36" T-Track Plus, a 36" and 18" board for the fence and bridge, an additional Large Build-it Panel and another Miter Slider.
Question: Why is this 2lbs less than the Metabo
Answer: I don't own a bench dog but I can tell you that the throw length (the push into the cutter) varies depending on the miter slot distance from the cutter. I had to make some modifications to the Kreg devise to make it work on my machine. This is a well thought out system in regards to cutting mitered frames but has very little tolerance or range in respect to all of the router table systems on the market. I needed to make at least 6 adjustments to the devise for it to work on my router table, which would probably void any warranties. I have 7 router tables, dedicated one for this devise and haven't used it in over a year. I found that coping or hand mitering the trim was faster. If I was to give this a 1 to 10 rating it would be a 3.
Question: works to nail plywood on concrete
Answer: The fence on the Kreg Beaded Face-Frame System is 28" long.
Question: This nail gun will work with 15°nail gun
Answer: If it has the same track or screw to fit your table then yes I would think so. I fitted mine to a Jessem router table
Question: When you guys gonna have better hooks for the nail gun
Answer: Melissa,You will need a router with a 1/2" collet. A router greater than 3hp or better is best.
Question: What size hose does this take
Answer: I am not sure of how your Delta saw is configured. I can't imagine a Delta saw not being in the front of the line with regard to saws that Vega would want to accommadate. I ordered the Vega system for my early 70's Craftsman 10 inch saw and ,"Yes" I was nervous since I did not take the price of the system lightly. I ordered the unit and when it arrived I was intimidated for a very brief period. Once I started the install, I became very confident that the unit would work with my saw. The Vega system is so universal that it would be difficult to not be able to install it on almost any saw. The most that may be needed on most saws may be to drill a hole or two in the saw base (table) . Once installed on my saw, I calibrated the fence and when that was done, I could use the calibrations on the Vega Fenceto make very accurate cuts. The Vega system has been one of my better investments in woodworking. Not sure I have answered your particular question but I believe in theVega system after having used it.
Question: What all comes with it
Answer: I don't know. The mounting hardware is very versatile so if you're willing possibly do some drilling, you can probably make it fit. I think that you must have good access under the table to get the holes drilled and bolts in. On a separate note, I'd not recommend the 50" fence because it's unnecessarily large. If I were doing it again I'd get the 42". It's amazing how much floor space the extra 8" gobbles up. It is a great fence. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Question: Hi I was wondering when you will have the ones with the adjuster
Answer: I just bought and installed this fence on an old Craftsman table saw model 113.298030 and I had to drill 1 hole for the back rail. The 3 other bolts, 1 more on the back and 2 for the front tube fit perfectly. Overall, very easy to install. Only complaint is the need to de-burr everything before installing. Not too big of a deal though. I would recommend this fence to my friends.

User questions & answers

Question: will it take any brand of nails
Answer: I have used two different brands so far. As long as the nails are plastic coated, 21 degree I believe any brand would work. The best prices I have found on nails is at harbor freight. 2500 nails for around $28. I have used 2 1/2" and 3 1/2"
Question: How come just below the nailer specs they say "often bought with this product"....22 degree nails....not
Answer: I used some of the 22 degree without a problem. I've used Bostich guns for 30 years prior to this gun & this is as good as any I've used.t's a great nailer
Question: do the nails have to be plastic coated
Answer: Plastic coated? No. But I do believe they have to be Plastic Collated, that is, they need to be bound together with plastic. I'm not sure if paper collated nails will work.
Question: What kind of air compressor do you recommend for this nailer
Answer: It really depends on how you're using it. If you're intermittently nailing with in and not imitating a machine gun- you can use a pancake or similar small compressor. The working pressure of the nailer is 70-115 PSI. I run mine at 100 PSI. Any portable compressor should be able to hit that pressure. The real question is duty cycle. If you're nailing every few seconds then you'll need a compressor capable of keeping up with the volume of air being consumed OR you'll have to slow down until your compressor stops running before firing the next nail. I run mine on 2 different compressors and don't have any issues- one is a 40 gallon shop compressor- the CFM is infinite compared to the gun. The other compressor is 2.6 CFM. I don't rapid fire when I'm using it and I can fire several nails before the compressor has to cycle. As long as you're not continuing to fire when the compressor is running you should be OK.

Numax 21º Full Head Framing Nailer

It's time to tackle a new project - and we have just the tool to get it done. The SFR2190 is perfect for framing, but did you know you can also use a framing nailer to install sub-floors, roof decking, wood fencing, sheathing, and more? We designed this nailer with you in mind, so it has all of the premium features you need to get started.

Step 1: Choose Firing Mode

Your framing nailer comes with a black single-fire trigger already assembled. This is the best choice if you haven't used a framing nailer before, or if you want accurate nail placement.

Follow the manual instructions to install the red bump-fire trigger if you want quick successive firing.

Step 2: Connect to Compressor

Set your compressor to 70 PSI and use the quick-connect fitting on your air hose to connect your framing nailer. If you have a really dense material, you can increase the pressure up to 115 PSI.

Put a few drops of oil into the fitting before connecting to a compressor to keep things running smoothly!

Step 3: Load Nails

Pull the side lever back along the magazine until it snaps into place.

Drop the nails into the open channel on the top of the magazine. The angle of the nails should match the angle of the nose of the nailer.

Lift the lever at the back of the magazine to release the side lever and secure the nails.

Step 4: Adjust and Go!

This nailer is loaded with features that let you customize for any project. Change the depth adjust, 360º air exhaust, or remove the no-mar tip for extra holding power.

Pro Tip: Use piece of scrap material to test out your nailer before starting on the real thing!

21º Plastic Collated Full-Head Framing Nails

A 'plastic collated nail' just means that the nails are held together with a thin strip of plastic. They are great for DIY projects because there are no issues with glue or sharp pieces of metal flying around when you're working. We suggest you use 21º nails for the best performance, but the SFR2190 can use any nail from 20º - 22º. The magazine fits nails from 2" to 3-1/2" long and is compatible with any generic brand, which is perfect if you have nails left over from other projects! If you don't have any leftover nails, we've listed some fasteners here that have worked for our customers in the past.

User questions & answers

Question: Where do you get extra parts from especially drivers
Answer: Yes, it works with the foodsaver bags. I ordered a roll when I ordered the sealer, and cut the rolls down to smaller sizes when I need them. The only problem I have run into is sometimes I dont get a side sealed correctly when I cut them down, and the sealer will just keep vacuuming and not seal. Now I know to just reseal the side I cut, and once I do that it works perfectly.
Question: Can this shoot paslode - 650385 round head 3-inch by .120 by 30 degree paper ta
Answer: Buy small bags (quart size). Depends how small your food is, starting place the food on the bottom of the bag, shake the bag, then begin to do your sealing process. You then can place the new load in the same procedure and seal. You now have your food stack or lined up in separate compartments but one bag. The food then can be trimmed to separate them or leave it in one bag then freeze them
Question: how long warranty
Answer: The bags that come with the unit actually doesn't seal as well as some no-brand bag roll I bought. They are not just slightly less tightly sealed -- they are NOT sealed at all after the 1st pass! FYI, I bought this roll from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0063HZVBC It's 100% sealed in the first pass.
Question: Is parts interchangeable with Hitachi
Answer: Replacement shafts are available
Question: is this nail gun similar to Hitachi nail gun
Answer: I’ve crimped up to 20 gage sheet metal fittings, I’ve also had a co-worker crimp a 26 gage piece of spiral right over the bead and it didn’t stop this crimper. I don’t recommend doing that, but it’s made rugged and well constructed a must have.
Question: Does it have dry fire lockout
Answer: From Malco: This sheet metal crimping attachment is designed to work with a minimum 12 volt DC cordless or maximum 7 amp AC corded IMPACT DRIVER. No set up or adjustment is needed. Attention: Use Impact Driver Only! Minimum 12V DC Impact Driver With Quick Release 1/4 in. Hex Chuck.
