13 best husky framing nailers
Husky is a brand known for its power tools and hand tools, including framing nailers. A framing nailer is a type of nail gun that is commonly used in construction and woodworking projects for quickly and efficiently driving large framing nails into various materials like wood, often used in building frames and structures. Here's what you might want to know about Husky framing nailers:
Types of Husky Framing Nailers: Husky offers a range of framing nailers, including pneumatic (air-powered) and cordless models. Pneumatic nailers require an air compressor to operate, while cordless models run on rechargeable batteries.
Features: Husky framing nailers typically come with features like depth adjustment, which allows you to control how deep the nails are driven into the material. They may also have selectable trigger options for sequential or bump firing, making it versatile for different applications.
Magazine Capacity: Framing nailers have a magazine or nail strip capacity, which determines how many nails can be loaded at once. The capacity varies among models, so choose one that suits the size of your projects.
Nail Size Compatibility: Husky framing nailers are designed to work with specific nail sizes and types. Make sure to check the nail size range supported by the nailer to ensure it meets your project requirements.
Durability: Look for Husky framing nailers constructed from durable materials to withstand the rigors of construction sites and heavy-duty use.High-quality construction ensures a longer lifespan.
Safety Features: Safety is paramount when using power tools. Many Husky framing nailers include safety mechanisms like anti-dry fire systems to prevent accidental firing when the nail magazine is empty.
Ergonomics: Consider the ergonomics and weight of the nailer, especially if you'll be using it for extended periods. A well-balanced and comfortable nailer can reduce fatigue.
Warranty: Check the warranty offered by Husky for their framing nailers. It's important to have a warranty to cover potential defects and issues.
Price Range: Husky framing nailers come in a range of prices to fit different budgets. Compare the features and capabilities of different models to find one that offers the best value for your needs.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is crucial to keep your framing nailer in good working condition. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for cleaning, oiling, and servicing your nailer.
When choosing a Husky framing nailer, consider the specific requirements of your projects and the type of nails you'll be using. It's essential to select a nailer that matches your needs in terms of power source, nail size compatibility, and features to ensure efficient and reliable performance in your framing and construction tasks.

User questions & answers
Question: | will it take any brand of nails |
Answer: | I have used two different brands so far. As long as the nails are plastic coated, 21 degree I believe any brand would work. The best prices I have found on nails is at harbor freight. 2500 nails for around $28. I have used 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" |
Question: | How come just below the nailer specs they say "often bought with this product"....22 degree nails....not |
Answer: | I used some of the 22 degree without a problem. I've used Bostich guns for 30 years prior to this gun & this is as good as any I've used.t's a great nailer |
Question: | do the nails have to be plastic coated |
Answer: | Plastic coated? No. But I do believe they have to be Plastic Collated, that is, they need to be bound together with plastic. I'm not sure if paper collated nails will work. |
Question: | What kind of air compressor do you recommend for this nailer |
Answer: | It really depends on how you're using it. If you're intermittently nailing with in and not imitating a machine gun- you can use a pancake or similar small compressor. The working pressure of the nailer is 70-115 PSI. I run mine at 100 PSI. Any portable compressor should be able to hit that pressure. The real question is duty cycle. If you're nailing every few seconds then you'll need a compressor capable of keeping up with the volume of air being consumed OR you'll have to slow down until your compressor stops running before firing the next nail. I run mine on 2 different compressors and don't have any issues- one is a 40 gallon shop compressor- the CFM is infinite compared to the gun. The other compressor is 2.6 CFM. I don't rapid fire when I'm using it and I can fire several nails before the compressor has to cycle. As long as you're not continuing to fire when the compressor is running you should be OK. |

Numax 21º Full Head Framing Nailer
It's time to tackle a new project - and we have just the tool to get it done. The SFR2190 is perfect for framing, but did you know you can also use a framing nailer to install sub-floors, roof decking, wood fencing, sheathing, and more? We designed this nailer with you in mind, so it has all of the premium features you need to get started.
Step 1: Choose Firing Mode
Your framing nailer comes with a black single-fire trigger already assembled. This is the best choice if you haven't used a framing nailer before, or if you want accurate nail placement.
Follow the manual instructions to install the red bump-fire trigger if you want quick successive firing.
Step 2: Connect to Compressor
Set your compressor to 70 PSI and use the quick-connect fitting on your air hose to connect your framing nailer. If you have a really dense material, you can increase the pressure up to 115 PSI.
Put a few drops of oil into the fitting before connecting to a compressor to keep things running smoothly!
Step 3: Load Nails
Pull the side lever back along the magazine until it snaps into place.
Drop the nails into the open channel on the top of the magazine. The angle of the nails should match the angle of the nose of the nailer.
Lift the lever at the back of the magazine to release the side lever and secure the nails.
Step 4: Adjust and Go!
This nailer is loaded with features that let you customize for any project. Change the depth adjust, 360º air exhaust, or remove the no-mar tip for extra holding power.
Pro Tip: Use piece of scrap material to test out your nailer before starting on the real thing!
21º Plastic Collated Full-Head Framing Nails
A 'plastic collated nail' just means that the nails are held together with a thin strip of plastic. They are great for DIY projects because there are no issues with glue or sharp pieces of metal flying around when you're working. We suggest you use 21º nails for the best performance, but the SFR2190 can use any nail from 20º - 22º. The magazine fits nails from 2" to 3-1/2" long and is compatible with any generic brand, which is perfect if you have nails left over from other projects! If you don't have any leftover nails, we've listed some fasteners here that have worked for our customers in the past.

User questions & answers
Question: | This nail gun is for 21 degrease. ? Or for the convencional framing nails |
Answer: | 21° and 30° are both conventional framing nails. But this is a 21° nailer. |
Question: | Just to make sure, the cordless nail only does bring a battery, fast charger, bag, and safety glasses |
Answer: | Yes, and an M5 Allen Wrench. The Fast Charger is the UC18YFSL and it will charge the 3.0 Ah battery in 45 min. There is a Rapid Charger (UC18YSL3) that charges the same battery in 30 min. |
Question: | Garantia pistola |
Answer: | We offer a 60 day warranty. Hitachi offers a one year from date of purchase. All warranty issues after the first 60 days must go directly through Hitachi. Have a great day. |
Question: | Will this gun dry fire? I just bought it and charged the battery but it doesnt fire. Does it have to have nails in it to fire |
Answer: | No it will not, nor should you try to dry-fire a nail gun. It's generally very bad on the tool. It requires about three or four nails in it to fire, depending on the size of the nail. Which means that once you us it, the gun is NOT EMPTY just because it won't fire the last nail or two; there is every chance that if you drop it or kick it out of the way it will manage to fire one of the remaining nails. Always treat this nail gun and any other nail gun like it's ready to fire. |

Question: | Where is this made (country |
Answer: | My local Home Depot did not carry Paslode roofing nails. I had read previous reviews stating you could use other brands of roofing nails. My nailer performed flawlessly. The coils were wound too tight to go straight into the gun, so I loosened the coil and inserted them. |
Question: | Does this come with a “no mar” tip, if not can I buy one |
Answer: | Where do I get the belt hook. And how in the hell can Hitachi consider themselves a premium brand and sell a ladder access tool without one? I'm livid. |
Question: | can i shoot nails on concrete or cement blocks ? for furring strips |
Answer: | Good morning, We offer a 60 day warranty. After your first 60 days you have a one year from date of purchase directly with Hitachi. Have a great day. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Aside from the name, is there any difference between this and the hitachi nr90aes |
Answer: | Good morning, No difference at all. Same exact tool other than the name. Have a wonderful day :) |
Question: | Can u use this gun to use on concrete wall faring strips |
Answer: | This gun shoots a plastic collated nail with the angle of the nails at 21 degrees. It shoots up to a 3 1/2” nail. It will shoot nails into wood but not concrete. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Can the air inlet fitting be changed to a different size? my compressor (craftsman cmec6150) has 1/4" npt. nailer has 3/8" inlet |
Answer: | Absolutely, it will allow more air flow with less pressure. |
Question: | Does this nailer take 22 degrees nails |
Answer: | The variance on the 20-22 Degree Nailers is 19.5 to 22 Degrees. There is no separate difference between any of these tools that are designed for 20 Degree Plastic Collated FRH Nails. Anybody who makes a statement otherwise does not know what they are talking about, or has bought some bad nails in the past and it got blamed on the 1 Degree difference. First off, unlike Senco, Bostitch and Paslode, who manufacture most of their Nails or govern the quality of the spec, most manufacturers of pneumatics do not manufacture their own nails, they source to the lowest bidder, which means you can get some real junk. You get what you pay for. Most of the North American produced product is of good quality. |

21º Plastic Collated Full-Head Framing Nails
Plastic collated nails are held together with a thin strip of plastic. They are great for DIY projects because there are no issues with glue or sharp pieces of metal flying around when you're working. We suggest you use 21º nails for the best performance, but the PFR2190 can use any nail from 20º - 22º. The magazine fits nails from 2" to 3-1/2" long and is compatible with any generic brand, which is perfect if you have nails left over from other projects! If you don't have any leftover nails, we've listed some fasteners here that have worked for our customers in the past.
