12 best bostitch f28ww framing nailers
The Bostitch F28WW is a popular framing nailer manufactured by Stanley Bostitch, a well-known brand in the power tools and fastening equipment industry. This framing nailer is designed for use in construction and woodworking applications, particularly for framing and sheathing tasks. Here are some key features and information about the Bostitch F28WW framing nailer:
Framing Nailer Type: The Bostitch F28WW is a pneumatic framing nailer, which means it operates using compressed air to drive nails into wood or other materials.
Nail Compatibility: This nailer is typically used with 28-degree wire-weld framing nails. It can accommodate nails of various lengths, typically ranging from 2 inches to 3-1/2 inches.
Collated Nails: The F28WW typically uses collated nail strips or coils, making it easier to reload and work continuously without frequent nail reloading.
Depth Adjustment: It features a depth adjustment mechanism that allows you to control how deeply the nails are driven into the workpiece. This is useful for achieving the desired level of nail penetration without damaging the material.
Sequential and Bump Firing: The nailer typically offers both sequential and bump firing modes. Sequential firing requires you to depress the trigger for each nail, while bump firing allows for rapid, continuous nailing by simply bumping the nose of the nailer against the work surface.
Magazine Capacity: The magazine of the F28WW can typically hold multiple nails, which reduces the need for frequent reloading.
Durability: Bostitch is known for producing durable tools, and the F28WW is designed to withstand the rigors of construction and framing work. It often features a lightweight magnesium housing that is both strong and durable.
Comfort and Ergonomics: The nailer is designed with user comfort in mind, featuring a comfortable grip, adjustable exhaust, and a well-balanced design to reduce user fatigue during extended use.
Safety Features: Safety features such as a trigger lockout mechanism to prevent accidental firing and a no-mar tip to protect the work surface are common in Bostitch framing nailers.
Maintenance: Like all pneumatic tools, the Bostitch F28WW requires regular maintenance, including keeping it lubricated with pneumatic tool oil and cleaning out any debris from the nail magazine.
Please note that the specific features and specifications of the Bostitch F28WW framing nailer may vary slightly depending on the model and version available at the time of purchase. Always refer to the manufacturer's documentation and instructions for the most accurate and up-to-date information on the product.

This nail gun is equipped with a patented pushbutton adjustable depth guide that sets the nail to desired depths quickly and conveniently. Just set the compressor at 80 psi and adjust the depth as needed.
Weighing just 7.6 pounds, the tool handles great in tight quarters like attics and during otherwise shoulder-burning overhead tasks. The innovative design is a big plus when nailing top plates to floor joints or when crawling under that low deck to reinforce the new hot-tub. A factory installed sequential trigger and Bostitchs exclusive Smart Trigger ensure optimal control and faster production. The trigger works as either a sequential or bump fire trigger. A notched, 16-inch layout indicator on the magazine helps achieve correct distance between studs in a matter of seconds. And, a lightweight magnesium housing means easy handling and unsurpassed durability
.The unit drives 2- to 3-1/2-inch wire-collated framing nails. One of the most powerful framers on the market, this nailer features 1,050 inch-pounds of driving power for tackling even toughest engineered lumber applications. User questions & answers
Question: | Is it true that the hammer is only "positive placement" for nails up to 2.5" long |
Answer: | Yes, pp tip for nails up to 2.5" in length. Framing tip for up to 3.5" |
Question: | How is it powered? Is it pneumatic or battery operated and/or use compressed gas cylinders |
Answer: | It is pneumatic. I've been using a 6 gal Campbell Hausfeld compressor with 1/4" quick disconnects at about 90 - 100 psi for metal connectors and 16d nails and have never run out of air. I bought it mainly for the metal connector ability, which it does great, but is also great for down to 6d nails. Just turn down the pressure on the smaller nails. |
Question: | Is it difficult to find nails for this hammer |
Answer: | Metal connector nails need to be larger around to fit properly in the holes and have the shear strength. If the nail is longer than 2-1/2 inches the gun will not fire by design. I can only find the 1-1/2 21 degree nails on Amazon and Home Depot online. They are expensive, but surprisingly, I tried some 33 degree 1-1/2 inch nails in this gun and it fires normal. I don't see any wear as a result either. I would not try this with longer 33 degree nails because they would angle out of reach of the driver. The gun out performs my old Senco SN60 by a large margin, is lighter, but about an inch taller. |
Question: | What is the difference between a round head and a clipped head nailer |
Answer: | The round head is the traditional type nail you would find in a box or bin of nails. The clipped head is the round head clipped off to the width of the nail shank on two sides--does not had the holding power of the round head. |

Question: | I have a bostitch n95rhn nail gun, will this handle fit it |
Answer: | We do not recommend this product for use inside of a sauna. If you plan to treat the wood on the exterior it would be great for protecting the exterior sides of the sauna. |
Question: | Does the spring come with the hook |
Answer: | If it was an oil based stain that has aged it will work. If it is freshly stained or a solid stain then the previous stain needs to be removed. For example....They are used by tradesmen in mounting electrical/plumbing/and misc. in masonry, cement concrete, stone, brick, and etc. You need a hammer drill to make a proper size hole at the right depth and a drill/driver to install screw. Professionals used a tapcon drill/socket in a Bosch bulldog hammer drill. They bore a hole and then use the socket feature to drive in a screw. It is a very fast way.... that cuts labor time from minutes to seconds. You can put in screwed tapcons... to mount a conduit run for an electrical system in minutes....using fancy tools and these screws |
Product description
The product is Coil Frame Nailer. Easy to use. The product is manufactured in Taiwan.
A popular model among builders who work on high-repetition projects like trusses and prefabricated frames, Bostitch's utility coil nailer offers huge capacity and solid reliability. When fully loaded, this nailer certainly isn't the lightest tool you could choose, but when you can drive 300 nails without having to reload, you quickly appreciate the timesaving capacity. With its aluminum housing and composite canister, this gun is a tough piece of equipment, designed to hold up to bumps and falls--the inevitable beating nailers take on a job site. The nailer's aggressive teeth easily grip lumber for toe-nailing. An adjustable deflector conveniently directs exhaust away from the user, and a quick-release canister makes loading new coils a snap. We were impressed with how solid the whole unit feels--it has the burliness of an industrial-strength machine. This model shoots 1-1/2- to 3-1/4-inch, 15-degree, wire-weld-collated, full-head nails, and weighs just over 8 pounds empty. Note: this model does not have adjustable drive depth. --Jonathon Tudor

Question: | can someone explain why the canister adjusts up to 4" nails but, it can only handle up to 3 1/4" nails |
Answer: | With a noise reduction rating of 21, as compared to the 22 of the popular Peltor TAC 100 model, the RangeGuard offers solid, consistent hearing protection. If you're shooting indoors, using an extremely high caliber weapon, or are surrounded by a significant amount of gunfire, your hearing may be compromised. Outdoor protection is excellent, and under most circumstances you are assured of being fully protected. After over 100 hours of use with the RangeGuard (both indoors and outdoors with a wide variety of firearms), I never experienced any kind of noteworthy shortcomings in the noise reduction of the model. As stated, under some circumstances you may feel the audio coming in a bit louder than you'd like, but the average gun owner will never need a stronger model. |
Question: | Can I use it for solid hardwood flooring |
Answer: | Yes, very easily. They even amplify sounds and make them easier to hear (but not loud noises like gunshots). They have a microphone on each earpiece so you can easily distinguish where sounds are coming from. |
Question: | Is this a good framing nailer |
Answer: | They'll only "work" if you turn them off. As someone who actually owns these headphones, no - they will not work for lawn mowers. Unless, of course, you turn them off, in which case you're paying a premium for muffs with a microphone and speakers in them. The headphones pick up all outside noise using two forward-facing microphones so that you can "hear" while you're wearing them. The cutoff circuit only engages when it picks up a sudden, sharp noise - like a gunshot, an air nailer, or a hammer blow. Continuous loud noises such as heavy equipment, power tools, saws, airplanes, etc... do not trigger the cutoff and in many instances can *amplify* the noise. |
Question: | Will this fit 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" roofing nails |
Answer: | These are teal the others are camo green. That's about it. |
