Answer:	6' Cedar privacy fence...no. But picket, or redwood (3.5" or 5.5" boards) where you want a clean finish...absolutely! Note, a 15-gauge is as small as you'd want to go where finish-nailers are concerned. To add strength to your nailed boards, shoot the nails in at slight, opposing angles--not straight in. This will provide a substantially stronger hold. Also, to maximize hold, adjust the nail depth so that the nail head sits flush with the board. Counter-sinking the nail too much will weaken the hold strength.

Answer:	The main difference is between the nails that this and the P320 take. The P320 takes 18 gauge brad nails and this tool takes larger 16 gauge finish nails. Functionally, the smaller brad nails have less holding power but are less visible since they have a smaller head. The larger brad nails are good for things such as base-boards but are more than you would generally need for things such as trim. In my research, I was told several times that if you are only going to get one nailer, get the larger 16 gauge finish nailer. This is because you can still the 16 gauge for trim (it just needs some caulk to cover the holes) but you generally cannot use the smaller 18 gauge brad nails for things that require more power (like base-boards).

Answer:	Ummm, yes, this is a finish nailer, big difference from a brad nailer. Make sure you are using 16 gauge 20 degree nails, not 15 gauge, and definitely not 18 gauge brads. This is a great nailer, but I'm not tossing out my Bostitch air nailers to replace it! This is a great supplement to the air nailers for small jobs that only last a day or so.
Question:	Have they sorted out the Low nail depth issue yet? After some use my contractors say it wont Drive 2-1/2 nails
Answer:	This is my second Dewalt finish nailer and I have never had any issues with it not driving 2 1/2" nails. That being said, if you are driving several 2 1/2 nails then you need to make sure you are working with a fully charged battery. I have noticed that if the battery gets to a 1/3 charge it will not drive 2 1/2" nails as deep. It also depends on the type of wood (hard or soft).

Answer:	Yes but don't waste your money if you plan on using this gun a lot. I've had mine in the shop 3 times in the year I've owned it. Buy the 18 volt version is more powerful and breaks way less. I've used mine for the last 6 years at least. This new gun will not even drive 2 1/2" nails consistently through soft wood let alone any hard wood.

The NT1865DMS 16-Gauge Cordless Finish Nailer allows the user to move easily around the job site without hoses or compressors



Equipped with Brushless motor technology and powered by a Compact 3.0Ah Lithium Ion battery, it is capable of driving up to 1,500 nails per charge.



It employs a unique air spring drive system (similar to Metabo HPT's pneumatic line) that uses compressed air to drive each nail resulting in zero ramp up time, increased shooting speed, recoil that feels like a pneumatic nailer, quicker response time between drives, better flush driving-even at an angle, and easy main10ance if the need should arise due to fewer parts to manage.



It also features a low battery indicator, selective actuation, tool-less jam release, tool-less depth of drive, variable position belt hook and LED light .



This 16-Gauge cordless finish nailer drives nails from 1" to 2-1/2" in length and can be used for a variety of applications including chair rail, install molding, cabinetry and other finish applications.
