Arrow brad nailers are power tools designed for fastening small, thin materials together using brad nails. These tools are commonly used in woodworking and carpentry projects to securely attach trim, molding, and other delicate pieces without leaving large or noticeable holes. Here are some key points about Arrow brad nailers:

  1. Brad Nailers: Brad nailers are a type of nail gun that uses brad nails, which are thin and small-gauge nails. These nails have a slight head and are designed to leave minimal marks on the workpiece, making them ideal for finishing and trim work.

  2. Types of Arrow Brad Nailers: Arrow, a well-known brand in the power tool industry, offers a range of brad nailers to suit different needs and preferences. These may include pneumatic (air-powered) brad nailers and electric corded models.

  3. Applications: Arrow brad nailers are versatile tools suitable for various applications, such as attaching baseboards, crown molding, window casings, door frames, and other decorative or delicate trim work. They are also used for assembling small pieces of furniture and cabinets.

  4. Nail Size and Capacity: Brad nailers typically accept brad nails with sizes ranging from 18 to 23 gauge. The nail capacity of these tools varies by model but is usually in the range of 100 to 150 nails.

  5. Precision and Control: Brad nailers provide precise control over nail placement, thanks to their narrow-gauge nails and fine-tip noses. This allows for clean and inconspicuous fastening, minimizing the need for putty or touch-up work.

  6. Safety Features: Most Arrow brad nailers come equipped with safety features such as trigger locks or sequential firing mechanisms to prevent accidental discharges. These safety measures help ensure user safety and prevent damage to the workpiece.

  7. Maintenance: Proper maintenance, including regular cleaning and lubrication, is essential to keep an Arrow brad nailer in good working condition. Following the manufacturer's maintenance guidelines is crucial to prolong the tool's lifespan.

  8. Compatibility: Arrow brad nailers are designed to work with Arrow or compatible brad nails. It's important to use the correct nail size and type recommended for your specific model to prevent jams and ensure proper function.

  9. Accessories: Some Arrow brad nailers may come with additional features or accessories like depth adjustment settings, carrying cases, or interchangeable nosepieces for different applications.

Arrow brad nailers are valuable tools for professionals and DIY enthusiasts who require precision and control when fastening delicate materials. User questions & answers

Question: Could I use this to attach trim to a concrete basement wall
Answer: This shoots very thin 23 gauge nails. I would not attempt this with a concrete wall. There could be a chance of it ricocheting off the wall. A concrete wall should be studded out and drywalled before installing trim but if you need to do this you should attach the trim with liquid nails.
Question: Is this a one time use pin nailer
Answer: Hello, The Arrow PT23G pneumatic pin nailer uses strips of pin nails in various sizes. The pin nailer fires pin nails every time the user holds the tool against a surface to engage the safety mechanism and then pulls the trigger until the strip of pin nails is depleted. Hope this answers your question! Feel free to contact us at or 800-776-2228. - Your Arrow Fastener Team
Question: What length of nails
Answer: These are 23ga pins, 1 inch is the largest. Works great for small detail glue ups.
Question: Is this gun oil-less , or does it require oil maintenance
Answer: I always put a drop on oil in my air guns. That said I have not been impressed with this gun, I actually purchased another gun to replace it after my second use.

User questions & answers

Question: Can someone recommend an air compressor that would power this nailer? I don't know a lot about tools and don't want to buy larger than i need
Answer: : A Husky 4 gallon portable will run three of these nailers. I believe it cost me $250.00. It's pretty quiet. Both of these cost less than a battery one
Question: What is the difference between 18 gauge brad nailer and 16 gauge finishing nailer? I need to install trim, build bookcase and install decking floor
Answer: Brad nails are formed from a fine 18 gauge wire, while finish nails are made from heavier 16 or 15 gauge wire. Finish nails are the correct choice for fastening larger crown and baseboard trim, brad nails are used to install smaller trim to help prevent splitting and to promote a cleaner looking job with less touch-up work after the nailing is done.
Question: Would I need to purchase anything else (battery) in order to use? I know absolutely NOTHING about power tools
Answer: Hello, Thank you for writing ACME Tools. The DWFP12231 Brad Nailer is a Pneumatic tool so you will have to use an Air Compressor and a hose with the proper fittings. Other than that, this unit is very straight forward and easy to use.
Question: what is the voltage
Answer: The voltage is 765 kV and it is also powered by two Siemens & Halske alternators rated 30 hp (22 kW), 2 kV at 120 Hz and uses 200 series-connected Gaulard 2-kV/20-V step-down transformers provided with a closed magnetic circuit, one for each trigger. Hope this helps.
