| Answer: | Yes, however this grinder REQUIRES Wheels with 7/8" thru-hole. This is because the back flange and the nut combination... It has a shoulder which serves to precisely locate the grinding disk on the 5/8" - 11 arbor. The diameter of this shoulder (centering ring) is ⅞". If you use the 5/8 in through hole, there will be very little surface touching the discs... Only about ⅛", also the flange nut would tend to Shear the disc - it has a recess which perfectly accepts the shape & diameter of the shoulder. |
