13 best air angle grinder
An air angle grinder is a power tool used for grinding, cutting, and polishing tasks. Unlike electric angle grinders, air angle grinders are powered by compressed air. These tools are commonly used in metalworking, construction, and fabrication industries. Here are some key features and aspects related to air angle grinders:
Power Source: Air angle grinders are powered by compressed air, which is supplied through an air compressor. This makes them suitable for environments where electric power may not be readily available or where electrical safety is a concern.
Versatility: These tools are versatile and can be used for various applications, including cutting metal, grinding welds, polishing surfaces, and more. They are valued for their ability to handle different materials and tasks.
Compact and Lightweight: Air angle grinders are generally more compact and lighter than their electric counterparts. This makes them easier to handle and maneuver in tight spaces or when working overhead.
High RPM (Revolutions Per Minute): Air angle grinders typically operate at high RPM, allowing for fast material removal. The speed and power make them efficient for tasks that require aggressive cutting or grinding.
Durable Construction: As with many power tools used in industrial settings, air angle grinders are often built with durable materials to withstand demanding conditions. They are designed for heavy-duty use.
Adjustable Guard: Most air angle grinders come with an adjustable guard that can be positioned to protect the user from sparks, debris, and the rotating grinding disc. Proper use of the guard enhances safety during operation.
Compatibility with Various Attachments: These grinders can be equipped with different types of abrasive discs or attachments based on the specific task. This adaptability adds to their versatility.
Air Compressor Requirements: To operate an air angle grinder, you need a suitable air compressor capable of providing the required air pressure and volume. It's important to ensure compatibility between the tool and the air compressor.
Safety Features: As with any power tool, safety is a crucial consideration. Users should wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves, and follow safety guidelines provided by the tool manufacturer.
When using an air angle grinder, it's essential to follow proper safety procedures, maintain the tool regularly, and use the appropriate accessories for the intended task.Understanding the specifications and features of the specific model you're using is key to achieving optimal results and ensuring safety.

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you know how much grease to put in the head or what kind or the needle size |
Answer: | There are small pump grease guns specifically for air tools. They are available through Ingersol Rand, and other companies. The grease for this particular line of IR tools should be from IR. It’s safe to put in about three good shots of grease. Don’t overdo it. Seal damage can occur and reduce the life of the tool. |
Question: | Cfm requirements?? Anyone |
Answer: | 3 cfm to operate, 18 cfm draw over long pulls. |
Question: | Ingersoll and rand suppose to be the best of the best.. Are these just cheap knockoffs or these real deal |
Answer: | No they are not knockoffs, its the real deal. I went through a few cheap ones that didn`t last. This grinder is rock solid and I can see it lasting me forever. Highly recommend! |
Question: | How do you put grease in the grease port |
Answer: | Where the tool transitions 90 degrees, there is a little raised ball on the one side...it's spring loaded. You need a pointed grease adapter, a needle but not the hypodermic needle...a chainsaw grease gun works well. Oil through the air port never gets to the 90 degree portion of the tool. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where is this made |
Answer: | It lists 24CFM as the under load air usage. That pretty much means to run it continuously you need a 7.5 hp two stage compressor. Now I have run die grinders on phony 5-6 hp (actual 2 hp) single stage upright compressors with an 80 gallon tank and you can work for a while (10 min) before you need to take a break and let the compressor catch up and shut off. The smaller the tank, the shorter the continuous use time before a break. If you are thinking about running it with something you can pick up I wouldn't try. They are really made for nail guns that take short bursts of air. |

Question: | How much cfm does this die grinder consume? my compressor will put out 2.6 cfm at 90 psi, will this be enough |
Answer: | This tool requires 22 SCFM @ Load. In other words, to run this tool continuously, non-stop, you would need a compressor pump capable of running 22cfm @ 90psi. In reality, As long as you have a large enough tank, you will be able to run this tool with no problem for several minutes continuously. Very few home shop users will have a compressor this large. I run this on a 5hp 60 gallon single stage with no problem. |
Question: | What is the warranty coverage on this die grinder? Is there extended coverage available |
Answer: | Weird. I just checked my toolbox and my 90 degree cp875 is red with no black logo. I checked my purchase history and it shows a black logo. Must be something new they are doing to the 90 degree models. However, the straight grinder pictured has no black logo. |
Question: | What is the warranty coverage on this die grinder |
Answer: | the exhaust is out the front |
