User questions & answers

Question: Can I use a smaller hammer to remove 4-5” concrete pad
Answer: 120 volts as I read.
Question: Will it penetrate basalt rock in a timely manner
Answer: This may be difficult for such a small area of an inch or two. You'll have to use a smaller chisel to carve out whatever area you need. Score it like perforated paper and slowly take out the broken pieces. Don't rush.
Question: Would this tool drive ground rods in rocky soil
Answer: No, its 120 volt, regular USA plug. I thought the same thing as you when i saw 3600 watts. I researched it and 3600 watts is a theoretical instantaneous peak. I connected my hammer to a power meter and during normal operation of breaking up a concrete floor the continuous power draw was only 250-350 watts. In fact , I could not force my hammer to draw more than 500 watts. I don't know what one would do to make it pull 3600 watts!
Question: is the body made of steel or plastic
Answer: It will break rock. If you are breaking solid, thick limestone, it may be a little tough going. I'm not sure whether a 35-lb would be sufficient, or if a 70-lb hammer would be better for you, but this will break rock. A lot of folks, myself included, have had some issues, likely with an o-ring, where the hammer leaks oil from above the chisel. But the hammer itself continues to work and has good power.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the frequency of this hammer 50/60hz
Answer: The D25951K has a weight of 41.300 LBS ( the whole kit). The tool itself weighs 29.3 LBS.
Question: this makita include storage case
Answer: It is a 15 amp motor. To figure out wattage- multiply the amp rating by 120 (in North America). For example, a table or miter saw rated at 15 amps will require around 1800 watts continuous, thus a 2500 watt generator, inverter or transformer would be the absolute minimum, with a larger unit being ideal. Also keep in mind- inverters, generators and transformers have widely differing designs and power quality.
Question: Frequency of the tool I know it's 110v but what is the frequency 50/60hz
Answer: The hammer is 29 pounds. Possibly the 40 pounds is referring to shipping weight.
Question: How much does it cost the shipping and delivery to colombia...?¿.. Bogotá Colombia Latin America. Thnx
Answer: Yes, the D25951K will include a kit box.

User questions & answers

Question: What kind of bits do these items come with
Answer: Sds bits
Question: Is the 27 too heavy to use horizontally on a wall

AVT uses a mechanical damper, effectively a counterbalance weight inside the tool, that provides an equal and opposite force that puts a mass directly opposite the point where the striker bolt delivers the impact. As vibration is eliminated, power is efficiently increased which allows more of the generated energy in the motor to be delivered to the tool bit. For users, AVT means significantly less vibration with no compromise in power and performance.

Makita HM0871C 12 lb. AVT Demolition Hammer, accepts SDS-MAX bits

Makita

Based on 13 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Makita 12 lb. Demolition Hammer delivers 8. 6 ft. lb. of impact energy with a powerful 10 AMP motor. It weighs only 12. 3 lbs. , creating a compact solution for overhead applications. The demolition hammer features Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT ) and vibration-absorbing rear handle to further reduce vibration. Constant speed control that automatically applies additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load to complete challenging jobs and a variable speed control dial enables users to match speed to the application. The HM1213C has a "soft no-load" function, which automatically reduces the speed of the motor when not in use which helps increase tool life and performance. The Makita Motor is engineered with field core interlocking steel laminations, dual ball bearing armature and more copper commutator bars, increasing energy transfer efficiency for more power and longer tool life Other features include an L. E. D. power light to indicate switch failure or cord damage and an L. E. D service light that notifies the user that the brushes need to be replaced. An automatic brush cut-off protects the commutator from damage for longer tool life. The 12 bit angle settings allows the bit to be set a different positions for operator comfort. Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT ) is a counterbalance system inside the tool that significantly reduces vibration. The AVT counterbalance design is based on seismic engineering, which developed this damping science to absorb shocks and protect buildings from earthquakes.

  • Powerful 10 AMP motor delivers 8. 6 ft. lbs. of impact energy to handle the most demanding applications
  • Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT ) is an internal counterbalance system that greatly reduces vibration
  • Additional vibration-absorbing rear handle is spring-loaded to further reduce vibration
  • Constant speed control automatically applies additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load to complete the most challenging jobs
  • Soft start suppresses start-up reaction for better accuracy
