Plus, I live in the country with dirt roads, so dust, grit and dog hair is a daily occurrence. I also have parrots, so vacuum cleaners come to my house to die. This light weight little guy will pick up feathers, seed hulls, bird pellets with ease. On dog hair, it pulls up the dog hair tumbleweeds inches away. It's light enough not to bother my arthritic hands, and its EASY to clean! I suggest getting a second filter so one can be ready to go in a flash. Answer:	I don’t know the other model, but mine doesn’t pick up much more than pet hair and dust. I only recommend it for pet hair removal.

Answer:	Not efficiently. It will swivel around corners and picks up by the suction on each corner of the vacuum head but takes some effort on my part. I don’t recommend it for general cleaning. Works well on pet hair and small, fine particles

Answer:	I would definitely buy it for hard floors and tile, it works great for daily pick up of hair and general dust. it's lightweight and easy to use but most important you won't have to pick up the sweepings from a broom.

Answer:	My belt is an occidental, not sure of exact part number, it is 2.5 inches wide. It (the pouch) is absolutely marvelous. I actually get compliments on it from carpenters/plumbers etc.lol.My belt is the one that comes with the carpenters tool bags set (tool pouch, fastener pouch, hammer loop, and belt) hope this helps. I highly recommend the 5049 AND the 5053. I use the 5053 much more than the 5049. Both are excellent. Good luck.
